BOSTIC - Mrs. Ruby Beheeler Bumgarner, 71, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at Rutherford Hospital.
A graveside service will be today at 3 p.m. in First Broad Baptist Church Cemetery.

Louise Hamrick
ELBERTON, Ga. - Ms. Louise Hamrick, 82, formerly of Lattimore, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at Heardmont Nursing Home in Elberton.
A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Jefferson and Belva Hamrick. She was a retired school teacher and taught school in Lattimore and Shelby City Schools. She was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church, Lattimore Women's Club, a former member of the Town Council of Lattimore and the Cleveland County Historical Association. She was a graduate of Meredith College.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Hamrick Cornwell.
She is survived by a niece, Carolyn Purcell of Elberton; three nephews, Charles Cornwell of Charleston, S.C., George Cornwell of Corbin, Ky., and Steve Cornwell of Lattimore.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Cleveland Funeral Services with the Rev. Joe Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Lattimore Baptist Church.
'Sam' Proctor
LAWNDALE - Mr. Samuel "Sam" Franklin Proctor, 93, of Jackson White Road, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at Autumn Care of Forest City.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late William Andrew and Mary Elvaina Bumgardner Proctor. He retired as a self-employed farmer and a textile worker. He belonged to Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and former choir director and Sunday school superintendent. He also was a former clerk for South Mountain Baptist Associatio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Florence White Proctor; a brother, Howard Proctor; and three sisters, Bessie Eaker, Minnie Warlick and Ada Martin.
He is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Ruth Proctor of Hickory, Boyd and Jan Proctor of Sedro Wooley, Wash., Sam and Betty Proctor of Warren, Mich., Truett and Brenda Proctor of Shelby and Truman and Marsha Proctor of Casar; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Marie Hoyle of Shelby, Ruth Lytle of Lawndale, Lilly and Carrol Hamrick of Fallston and Linda and Terry Spencer of Lincolnton; two sisters, Vangie Bowman of Lawndale and Vernie White of Casar; 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Casar, with the Revs. Jody Yopp and Cecil Buff officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at Stamey Funeral Home of Fallston.

CHERRYVILLE - Mrs. Lois Elizabeth May, 90, of Plantation, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in Plantation.
The funeral is today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Plantation.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville, with the Rev. Phil Deitz officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center of Shady Grove Baptist Church after Wednesday's service.

Charles Bridges
SHELBY - Mr. Charles Edward Bridges, 69, of 404 Windcrest Drive, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at his home.
A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Oscar Lee and Ocie Cooper Bridges. He was a retired builder for Duke Power Co., a member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church, an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Dewey Laws, Billy Ray Hoyle and Robert Wade.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ramsey Bridges of the home; four sons and one daughter-in-law, James Lee Bridges of Jacksonville, Fla., Gordon Lee Bridges of Greenville, Ill., Donald Manery Bridges of Pickens, S.C., and Douglas and Lorrie Evans of Dawsonville, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa B. and Randy Bullock of Shelby; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Marilyn Bridges of Shelby and Forrest and Dorothy Bridges of Cherryville; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Ruby B. Laws, Dorothy B. and Lee Curtis and Wilda B. and Ray Bridges, all of Shelby, Trilba B. and Bill Ellis of Grover, Deloris B. and Michael Adams of Spartanburg, S.C., and Marie Hoyle of Cherryville; and four grandsons.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Putnam Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Byran Glisson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and other times at the home of Wilda and Ray M. Bridges, 1419 Clairmont Drive, Shelby.

'Bud' Beasley
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Boyd "Bud" Beasley Jr., of 400 E. Ridge St., Apartment 3, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at his home.
Born on Dec. 29, 1931, in Hartford, S.C., he was the son of the late Boyd Sr. and Mary J. Beasley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Pettigrew; and two brothers, Marion Beasley and Roland Beasley.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Mary Accor of Kings Mountain; a grandson, Charles Accor Jr. of Kings Mountain; four sisters, Lessie Maddox of Shelby, Mary Johnson of Kings Mountain, Edith Burson of Asheville and Bertha Jennings of Capitol Heights, Md.; one brother, Joseph Beasley of Grover; a foster sister, Geraldine Accor of Newark, N.J.; a niece, Creola Mathews of Grover; and many other nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Withrow's Funeral Home in Kings Mountain with the Rev. Bob Hope officiating. Burial will be at Webb Memorial Lawns.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. At other times they will be at 1510 Long Branch Road, Grover.
Jean Anderson
SHELBY - Ms. Jean Wray Anderson, 69, of 304 N. Morgan St., died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at her home.
