RUTHERFORDTON - Mrs. Emily Crain Hardin, 68, of 1081 Piney Knob Church Road, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Rutherford Hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Gilkey Church of God with the Revs. Herman Toney and Kenneth Lytle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Crowe's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

'Ron' Larson
SHELBY - Mr. Myron William Larson, 63, of 5413 Canterbury Road, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Eau Claire, Wis., he was the son of the late Myron L. and Myrtle B. Querrer Larson. He was production manager at Bost Bakery for the Ralston-Purina Co. and was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Kings Mountain. He was a hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Patterson; and a sister, Sharon Larson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Newton Larson of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith William and Tondra Larson of Valdosta, Ga.; two daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary Lee and Tim Strouth of Leland, Amy Jean and Gary Montgomery of Charlotte and John Patterson of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Dawn Patterson, Amanda Patterson, Sabrina Strouth, Megan Dolce, Frank Dolce III, Ryan Larson and Garrison Montgomery. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church with Fathers Eric Houseknecht and Don Wilger officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Christ The King Catholic Church, 714 Stone St., Kings Mountain, NC, 28086.

'Roe' Blake
FOREST CITY - Mr. Jayson Roosevelt "Roe" Blake, 93, of 149 Hopper Road, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Boone officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8:30 at Padgett and King Mortuary.

Kenya Dawson
CHERRYVILLE - Miss Kenya Regina Dawson, 17, of 100 Red Rock Drive, Apartment 11, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Doris Lavon Dawson of the home and Nathan Eugene Oglesby of Shelby. She attended North Shelby School and was a member of Bethlehem Temple Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Kizzie Ann Oglesby of the home; a brother, Steven Wilson of Shelby; her grandparents, Wilford and Baby Ruth Goodman of Detroit and John Dawson Jr. of Shelby; and her great-grandfather, Joseph Eaves of Shelby. The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. O.B. Brintley and Pastor Michael Issac officiating. Burial will be in Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends Monday one hour before the service at the church. Enloe Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Doris Ann Gardner McDermid, 81, of 1015 Bethlehem Road, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel of Harris Funeral Home with the Revs. Dale Swofford and David Fambrough officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

James Curry
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. James Robert Curry, 64, of 122 Mann Court, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Wendover of Shelby. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Patterson Springs, with the Rev. Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A.B. Davidson
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Mr. A.B. Davidson, 79, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Columbia. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Curtis and Lucy Allen Davidson. He was a graduate of Lattimore High School and a veteran of World War II who served in the second wave on Normandy Beach on D-Day. He was a former member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and Zoar Baptist Church. He was retired from Carolina Freight after 35 years of service. He was a former member of the Cleveland County Senior Golf Association, and a fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Redskins. He and his wife relocated to Columbia six years ago. He was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth McSwain Davidson; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Tricia Davidson and Alan Weeks of Atlanta, Judy Davidson Lineberger of Alexandria, Va., Amanda Davidson and Barney Berrier and Amy Davidson, all of Columbia; a brother, James Davidson of Shelby; three sisters, Julia Clary and Gladys Paxton, both of Shelby, and Frances Scism of Gaffney, S.C.; and three grandchildren, Davidson Berrier, Margaret Berrier and Emma Berrier, all of Columbia. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Rev. William D. Troutman officiating. Burial will be Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and other times at the home of John McSwain, 616 College Ave., Shelby.

HENRIETTA - Mr. Wayne Keith Foster, 44, of 266 Proctor Road, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Rutherford Hospital, Rutherfordton. Arrangements will be announced by Thompson Brothers Funeral Home, Forest City.

SHELBY - Mrs. Louvenia Allison Watson, 82, of 2334 China Ave., died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Autumn Care of Forest City. The family will be at the home of her sister-in-law, Thelma Allison at 2334 China Ave. in Shelby. Arrangements will be announced by Genesis Funeral Service.

Betty Hudson
GROVER - Mrs. Betty Weaver Hudson, 70, of 509 Butler Springs Road in Greenville, S.C., formerly of 912 Cleveland Ave., died Friday, March 1, 2002, at St. Francis Woman's Hospital in Greenville. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Addy May Weaver. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, John D. Ingle, Herchel Davis and William Hudson; two brothers, Everette Weaver and Johnny Weaver; and a sister, Evelyn Weaver Wilson. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen R. and Rena Ingle of Greenville; a daughter, Deborah Jean Welsh of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Carol Tucker and Ann Tucker, both of Darrington, Wash.; four grandchildren, Carl B. Ingle and his wife, Dawn, John Jonah Ingle and his wife, Dana, William John Welsh and Raquel Megan Welsh, all of Kings Mountain. The funeral will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug Ramsey and Tim Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Harris Funeral Home.

Helen Taylor
VALE - Mrs. Helen Johnson Taylor, 73, of N.C. 274, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Carolina Care in Cherryville. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Stamey Funeral Home with the Rev. Marcus Redding officiating. Burial will be at Hulls Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Teresa Morgan, 191 N.C. 274 in Vale. FOREST CITY - Mr. Jack Franklin Hollars, 65, of 125 Highview St., died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Crestview Baptist Church with the Revs. Boyce Gregory and Danny McCain officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Lois Bryson
MORGANTON - Mrs. Lois Early Bryson, 79, of Glenwood Road, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Grace Hospital. Born June 20, 1922, in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Horace Reid and Clara Kanipe Early. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was a member of Minosa Chapter No. 269 of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxillary. She is survived by her husband, S.O. "Sid" Bryson of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Sidney Jr. and Ava Bryson of Shelby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Lynn and Sam Frankfort of Spotsylvania, Va., and Donna and Eddie Seitz of Morganton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Roach officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church parlor. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Mollie Anthony
SHELBY - Mrs. Mollie Guffey Anthony, 90, of 164 Houston St., Mount Holly, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Crawley Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late N.P. Sr. and Margaret Sparks Guffey. She was a mother, homemaker and retired from Crawley Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Mount Holly and a former member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 35 years, sang in the adult choir, and belonged to W.M.U. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon Anthony; two brothers, Raleigh Guffey and Gail Guffey; two sisters, Myrtle Davis and Katie Lou McSwain. She is survived by a son, Forrest "Sparkie" Anthony of Georgetown, S.C.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Lou Humphries of Shelby and Patricia Pearson and Jerry Fish of Maiden; a brother, N.P. Guffey Jr. of Boiling Springs; a sister, Betty Jolley of Cliffside; four grandchildren, Todd Anthony of Cleveland, N.C., Debbie Anthony Hayes of Cooleemee, Donna H. Wellmon of Shelby and Michelle P. Greene of Raleigh; eight great-grandchildren, Alina Greene of Raleigh, Angie Deaton, Dannika Hayes and D.J. Hayes, all of Cooleemee, Phillip Deaton of Kings Mountain, Crystal Anthony, Todd Anthony Jr. and Stacie Anthony, all of Cleveland; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Kelly Anthony of Cleveland; and two great-great-grandsons of Kings Mountain. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Lutz-Austell Funeral Home with the Revs. Ed Sessom and Keith Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church building fund.

Aimee Losse
SHELBY - Mrs. Aimee Schultz Losse, 83, of 2825 Elizabeth Ave., died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born April 24, 1918, in Milwaukee, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Elise Kratzat Schultz. She moved to Shelby from Joplin, Mo., in 1967, when her husband was assigned to the local PPG plant. She was a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered in the church Food Ministry Program, the Homework Club and was secretary of the Presbyterian Women. She taught math at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte and was a Discovery Place volunteer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul L. Losse, who died in 1997. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Helen Losse of Winston-Salem; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jennings Cline of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Troy Losse and Victor Losse, both of Winston-Salem, Gabrielle Cline-Snell and her husband, Jeff Snell, of Knoxville, and Lisa Cline of Madison, Wis. A memorial service will be today at 2 p.m. at Shelby Presbyterian Church with Dr. Luke Harkey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the fellowship hall at the church and the church chapel will be open for prayer. Memorials may be made to Shelby Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1444, Shelby, NC 28151. Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel of Winston-Salem is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Honeycutt
NEWTON - Mrs. Ruth Price Honeycutt, 89, of 1206 N. Shipp Ave., died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at Catawba Memorial Hospital. Born May 12, 1912, in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Bulo Ervin and Lishie Harrill Price. She was a member of North Newton Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years, and was retired from Clyde Fabrics. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall Honeycutt; a son, Hugh Lane Honeycutt; two grandsons, Gary Lee and Scotty Hunnicutt; three sisters, Oveda Grayson, Madaleen Wesson and Ethelene Buchanan; and a brother, B.E. Price. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Thad Crump of Conover and Betty and Marvin Lee of Newton; three sons and daughters-in-law, James "J.C." and Jeanie Hunnicutt of Burlington, Jimmy and Agnes Honeycutt of Mesquite, Texas, and Joe and Millie Honeycutt of Newton; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at North Newton Baptist Church with the Revs. Lloyd King and G.E. Freeman officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Roger Lee, Chuck Honeycutt, Scotty Joe Honeycutt, Jimmy Honeycutt, Carl Honeycutt, Kenny Crump and Harold Hunnicutt. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
