Alice Josephine McDonald
(September 20, 1936 - October 2, 2011)
Alice Josephine "Mama Jo" Overcash McDonald, 75, of 13108 Megan Drive Rockwell, NC passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at her home.
She was born on September 20, 1936 in Cabarrus County to the late Edgar Pete and Edith Novella Shoe Overcash.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Leroy "Sleepy" McDonald.
A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Tuesday, October 4th from 1 until 2 PM .
Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 2 PM, with Pastor Edward Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, Ronnie McDonald and wife Patricia of Concord, and Mark McDonald of Virginia; sister, Shelby Moss of West Jefferson; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nephews; two nieces.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sylvia Merritt and Brenda Canaday for their care and friendship to our mother.

John Thomas Wilson
(April 29, 1948 - March 24, 2011)
Mr. John Thomas Wilson, age 62, of Kannapolis, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his home.
He was born on April 29, 1948 in Huntington Beach, CA to the late Frank T. and Dorothy Ristrom Wilson.
Mr. Wilson is also preceded in death by his brother, Rick B. Wilson.
John was a down to earth, fun loving guy who was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding his Harley.
He was of the Catholic faith and a head engine builder.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 7:00 PM.
Graveside will be a private family event.
He is survived by his sisters, Dolly Wilson and husband, Andrew Pitman and Sue Wages and husband, Terry; nieces, Megan R. Wilson, Brittany R. Wilson, and Kaitlyn Reisinger; nephews, R.J. Wilson, James Wages, Dillon Reisinger, and Derek Reisinger; step sons, Kelly D. Kellis and wife, Patty and Jarad Kellis; and grandchildren, Karissa D. Kellis and Kourtney D. Kellis.
Horace Brunson Hinson
(February 24, 1925 - September 24, 2011)
Horace Brunson Hinson, 86, of Zion Church Road Concord passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.
He was born on February 24, 1925 in Stanly County to the late Jason and Rosa Eudy Hinson.
He was also preceded in death by a son Douglas Howard Hinson.
Mr. Hinson was a pipe fitter at Cannon Mills.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 5340 Flowes Store Road Concord at 4 PM on Monday, September 26th, 2011 with Rev. Marvin Honeycutt officiating.
Graveside military rites will be conducted by Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.
At other times the family will be meeting at the home.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Howard Hinson of the home; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Hinson of Concord and Rebecca Leeann Hinson of Charlotte.

Richard Selver Kidd
(March 24, 1959 - October 4, 2011)
Richard Selver “Ricky” Kidd, 52, of Concord, NC, passed away October 4, 2011 at Universal Health Care of Concord.
Mr. Kidd was born March 24, 1959 in Mecklenburg County to the late William Selver Kidd and Mildred Joyce Collins Kidd.
He was a 1978 graduate of Garinger High School of Charlotte and a security officer.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, at Ridgeview Baptist Church of Charlotte.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary officiated by Dr. Charles Fouslee. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park of Charlotte.
At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Kidd; two brothers, William J. Kidd and his wife, Sheila, and Chris Kidd, both of Concord; and his sister, Sylvia Edwards and her husband, Phillip, of Charlotte.

Robert Dean Veinot
(June 30, 1926 - September 21, 2011)
Robert Dean Veinot, 85, of Concord, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011, in Tucker Hospice House of Kannapolis, NC.
Mr. Veinot was born June 30, 1926 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Angus Veinot and his mother, Mabel Veinot. Robert was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.
He attended the Coltrane Life Center of Concord regularly and also attended First Christian Church of Concord.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25, at First Christian Church of Concord, officiated by Rev. Stephen Mayhew.
His wife, Karen Russell Veinot, survives.

Rufus Alton Lambert
(May 22, 1927 - September 23, 2011)
Rufus Alton Lambert, age 84 of 24637 Canton Road, Albemarle, NC 28001, passed away on September 23, 2011 at his home.
The family will receive friends at Canton Baptist Church from 3 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011.
The funeral service will follow in the church at 4 p.m. officiated by Rev.Mark Mabry and Rev. Ron Honeycutt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born in Stanly County on May 22, 1927, he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Lambert and the late Bertha Almond Lambert.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruthie Lea Howell Lambert in 2007; one grandson, Patrick Lambert; a brother, Newell Almond and two sisters, Jewell Carter and Geneva Martin. He is survived by three sons, Reggie Lambert and wife, Toni, of Albemarle, Sidney Lambert and wife, Terry, of Charlotte and Kevin Lambert and wife, Joan, of Albemarle; daughter, Deidra Lambert Lockamy and husband, Charlie, of Albemarle; two sisters Velma Earnhardt of Albemarle, Ricardo Small of Locust; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A member of Canton Baptist Church, he was a skilled carpenter by trade.
He loved hunting and the outdoors.
He leaves a legacy of hospitality and generosity.
