Dunn, NC: Mrs. Zolean Y. McLamb, age 65, of 92 John St. died Sunday at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Wednesday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. C.H. Lee. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens.
Mrs. McLamb was born March 6, 1942 in Johnston County to the late Delmar D. and Norma Raynor Young. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. Thomas Odell “Buck” McLamb. Mrs. McLamb was a sewing machine operator in the Textile industry and a Homemaker.
Surviving are Sons and Daughter-In-Law, Thomas Dale & Donna McLamb of Dunn and Johnny Gale McLamb of Benson; Brother, J.D. Young of Lexington; Sisters, Betty Jean Atkinson of Garner, Ann Young of Raleigh, Ellen Smoak of St. Matthews, SC, and Norma Lean Stephenson of Benson; Three Grandchildren, Brett McLamb, Dillon McLamb and Dava McLamb.
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, Benson, from 7:00PM until 9:00PM Tuesday, and at other times at the home of Thomas Dale & Donna McLamb, 887 Miller Road, Benson, NC.
Mrs. Mary Lou Johnson Thornton

Benson, NC: Mrs. Mary Lou Johnson Thornton, age 94, of 1200 Reedy Prong Church Rd. died Sunday at Wake Medical Center in Fuquay where she had resided for the last nine and half years. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Capps. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson.
Mrs. Thornton was born May 23, 1913 in Johnston County to the late Brady and Valeria Tart Johnson. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband, the late Perry Thornton. Mrs. Thornton was also preceded by Brothers, Theodore Johnson, Loren B. Johnson, and Marvin Johnson; Sisters, Kilty J. Barefoot and Luna J. Black.
Surviving include Daughter & Son-In-Law, Winifred T. & Roland Wood of Benson; Son, Charles Thornton of Newton Grove; Four Grandchildren & Spouses, Michael P. & Dae Wood of Benson, Mary Beth & Scott Rhodes of Newton Grove, Suzanne & Jeremy Rhodes of Four Oaks, and Charles Perry & Tina Thornton of Newton Grove; Four Great Grandchildren, Taylor Rhodes, Mary Michael Wood, Mary Scott Rhodes, and Anna Thornton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Family will receive friends 7:00PM to 9:00PM Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, and at other times at the home of Roland & Winifred Wood, 2500 Beasley Rd., Benson, NC.
The Thornton Family would like to thank all the doctors and caregivers at Wake Medical Center in Fuquay for all the love and care Mrs. Thornton received.

Mrs. Magdalene Pleasant Howard

Dunn, NC: Mrs. Magdalene Pleasant Howard, age 74, of 3440 Old Fairground Rd died Wednesday morning at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Friday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Donnie Barbour and James Gurkins. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens.
Mrs. Howard was born November 13, 1932 in Harnett County to the late Lexie and Ethel Pate Pleasant. She was preceded in death by Brothers, Ralph Pleasant, Earl Pleasant; Sisters, Eula Smith and Letha Moore. Mrs. Howard was a homemaker and a member of Red Hill Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are Husband of 54 years, Bill Howard of Dunn; Daughter, Sandra Kay Howard of Lillington; Son and Daughter-In-Law, Andy R. and Shari Howard of Dunn; Brother, Gene Pleasant of Willow Spring; Sister, Faye Clifton of Angier; Two Grandchildren, Drew Howard and Holly Howard.

Mrs. Iva Parrish O’Neal Wood

Benson, NC: Mrs. Iva Parrish O’Neal Wood, age 87, of 3198 Hannah Creek Road died Monday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Friday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Doug Abel. Burial will follow in Banner Chapel Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was born December 19, 1919 in Harnett County to the late Carlie and Zola Johnson Parrish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn Wood, and a daughter, Linda Faye O’Neal. Mrs. Wood was a seamstress and a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church.
Surviving are Daughter, Peggy Wheeler & Husband, Willard, of Benson; Sons, C. L. O’Neal & Wife, Nancy, of Raleigh and Ken O’Neal & Wife, Joyce, of Middlesex; Step-Daughter; Frances Gibbs & Husband, Charles, of Snead’s Ferry; Step-Son, David Wood & Wife, Rita, of Portsmouth, RI; Sisters, Margie Collier of Fuquay-Varina and Rachel Spencer of Rocky Mount; Special Grandson, Michael Franklin Wood;11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Benson, NC: Infants Laney Grace and Landon Lee Garofolo, infant twins of Tracy Thompson and Christopher Lee Garofolo, of 208 Adams Drive, Benson, died Saturday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Graveside funeral service will be 10:00AM Tuesday at Banner Chapel Church Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Caudle will officiate.
Survivors, in addition to their parents, are Sisters, Cara Faith Hawley and Chrisalee Garofolo; Maternal Grandparents, Patricia and Robert Avery of Benson; and Paternal Grandparents, Melody & Carmelo Garofolo, Jr. of Wilmington; Maternal Great Grandparents, Randall & Shirley Smith of Fuquay; and Several Aunts & Uncles.

Coats, NC: Mr. William Earl Ennis age 80 of 1444 Old Stage Rd. died Tuesday at his residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Thursday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Rev. Ronnie Byrd. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens, Dunn.
Mr. Ennis was born September 13, 1926 in Johnston County to the late William Henry and Alta Mae Moore Ennis. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Margaret Avery Ennis; Sister, Ruby Harper; and Brothers, Ralph Ennis and Billy Ray Ennis. Mr. Ennis was a US Navy Veteran of WWII, and had retired from Erwin Mills after 40 years of service.
Surviving is a Son and Daughter-In-Law, James Earl and Dorothy Ennis of Roanoke Rapids; Daughters and Sons-In-Law, Barbara E. & Edwin Ferrell Stewart of Wade, and Renee & Danny Ray Dickens of Erwin; Brothers, Charles David Ennis of Garner and William Ennis of Clayton; Sisters, Marquita Partin of Fuquay and Diane Upchurch of Coats; Six Grandchildren; Five Great- Grandchildren.

Four Oaks – Mrs. Lillie M. McLamb, 100, of 31 Adams Road died Thursday Morning at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00AM at Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church. Revs Doug Abel and Mike Whitley will officiate. Burial will follow in Banner Chapel Church Cemetery.
Mrs. McLamb was born March 2, 1907 in Johnston County to the late Daniel & Susan Morgan McLamb. She was a member of Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church and a homemaker Mrs. McLamb was predeceased by her husband, Herbert A. McLamb, Sons, Charlie McLamb and Billy Isham McLamb and a Grandson, Gregory Baker.
She is survived by a Son, Hubert Owen McLamb of Benson, two Daughters, Louise Baker of Raleigh and Ruby Allen of Four Oaks, Four Grandchildren, Danny Allen, Gary Allen, Catherine Formosa and Steve Baker and Eight Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Charles Albert Gregory

Coats, NC: Mr. Charles Albert Gregory, age 72, of 4009 Abattoir Road died Saturday at Duke Medical Center in Durham. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday at the Coats Community Church in Coats. Officiating will be Dr. Jim Cochran, Rev. Jesse Mooney, and Rev. Billy Cashwell. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn.
Mr. Gregory was born February 7, 1935 in Harnett County to the late Ralph Lane & Flora Nordan Gregory. Mr. Gregory was a true entrepreneur, and was successful in the building, contracting, auctioneering, and restaurant businesses. He was a charter member of the Coats Community Church and was instrumental in its development. Mr. Gregory served on the Presidential Advisory Board at Campbell University; was a two time recipient of the Man of the Year Award for the Town of Coats; served on the BB&T Advisory Board; and was a past president for the Harnett County ARC.
Surviving include Wife, Betty Bowling Gregory; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Lane & Teresa Gregory of Angier, Blake & Theresa Gregory of Angier, and Larry Gregory of Coats; Brother, Willis H. Gregory of Angier; Sisters, Mary Stevens and Eula Stancil, both of Angier; Grandchildren, Adam Gregory, Elizabeth Gregory, and Stacey Gregory.

Coats – Mrs. Fernie Ellen Pope Meadows, age 68, of 858 Carson Gregory Road died Friday at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Sunday at Gift Primitive Baptist Church. Officiating will be Elder Fred Williams. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier.
Mrs. Meadows was born June 18, 1938 in Harnett County to the late James Fernie and Vida Williams Pope. She was also preceded in death by a Brother, James Sexton Pope; Step-father, Lonnie Pope; Step-sisters, Sally Askew and Pearl Littleton; and Grandson, Gary Meadows, Jr. Mrs. Meadows was a homemaker and a member of Gift Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include Husband, Marvin M. Meadows; Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Deborah & David Ruffin of Havelock, Janice & Gene Westbrook of Coats, and Karen & Glenn Lucas of Coats; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Gary & Shelia Meadows and Daryl & Amy Meadows, all of Coats; Sister, Violene P. Stevens of Coats; Brother, John Rex Pope of Coats; Step-sisters, Myrtle Odum of Swansboro, Ruth Askew of Wilson, Ollie Collins of Swansboro & Ethelene O’Neal of Newport; Twelve Grandchildren; and Six Great Grandchildren.
