Angier, NC: Mrs. Betty Lou Byrd Lee, age 60, of 1977 Stephenson Road died Tuesday at her home after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Thursday at Johnson Memorial Church. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Searles and Dr. Herbert Carter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lee was born November 14, 1947 in Johnston County to the late Willie S. and Bertha Langdon Byrd. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Rudolph Byrd, Birchel Byrd, and Roscoe Byrd. Mrs. Lee was a hairdresser and partner with her husband in Lee’s Hair Styling for 40 years. She was also a homemaker.
Surviving include Husband of 43 years, J.R. Lee; Daughters & Sons-In-Law, Anita & Jeffery Carroll of Erwin, and Jill & Christopher Vancil of Clayton; Grandchildren, Chelsea and Leah Carroll; Brothers & Sisters-In-Law, Etheridge & Virginia Byrd of Angier, Rupert & Shirley Byrd of Durham, Ruth Byrd of Angier, and Maxine Byrd of Benson.
Family will receive friends 7:00PM to 9:00PM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.

Dunn, NC: Master Tristan Isaiah Davies, infant son of Brandon E. and Leigh Pollard Davies, went to be with Jesus on November 30, 2007. A Graveside Service will be 2:00PM Sunday at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Jesse Mooney.

Mrs. Nancy Jo Grayson Adams

Angier, NC: Mrs. Nancy Jo Grayson Adams, age 68, of 370 Raeford Road died Sunday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.
Mrs. Adams was born June 14, 1939 in Wayne County, West Virginia, to the late Loman and Lona Stapelton Grayson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lona Jean Wheeler and a Brother, William Robert Grayson. She was a homemaker.
Surviving include Husband, David Adams, Jr.; Daughters & Son-in-Law, Nancy & Clifford Chambers of Benson; Sons & Daughter-in-Law, Kenny & Teresa Boley of Columbus, OH and David Lee Boley of Ft. Wayne, IN; Grandchildren, Benjamin Chambers and Kelsey Boley; Sister & Brother-in-Law, Sue & Harry James of Columbus, OH; and Several Nieces & Nephews.
A memorial service will be held at later date in West Virginia.

Garland, NC: Mrs. Myrtle Dean Pleasant, age 84, of 745 W. Second Street died Saturday at Sampson Regional Hospital in Clinton. funeral service will be 2:00PM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Herbert Carter and Dr. Don Sauls. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.
Mrs. Pleasant was born December 9, 1922 in Harnett County to the late Thomas Frank and Ida Hardy Dean. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Pleasant was a member of Garland Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving beloved husband of more than 64 years, Rev. Fred Pleasant; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Julius Dean “Butch” and Barbara Pleasant of Bluffton, SC, and Tim & Tricia Pleasant of Fremont; Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Ann & Howard Cantwell of Sugar Land, TX; and Teresa & David Wylie of Raleigh; Grandchildren & Spouses, Dr. Alfred & Jennifer Faulkner of Pleasant Ridge, MI, Kenneth & Sarah Donleycott of Fuquay Varina, Glenn & Angie Pleasant of Wilmington, D. Mr. Herbert Hunter Tart, age 79, of Ft. White, FL, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL.
Mr. Tart was born in Harnett County, July 14, 1928 to the late Eules Alton & Alma Byrd Tart and moved to Ft. White, FL, in 2002, coming from Sanford, NC. He managed Twin City Laundry and Dry Cleaners for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood work. Mr. Tart loved his family and was devoted to his grandchildren and was a member of Evangel Church of God.
Mr. Tart is survived by daughters, Patricia Chasteen, and husband, Sonny, of Plant City, FL, and Kathy Hancock and husband, David of Ft. White, FL; brothers, Eules “Bill” Tart of Dunn, NC, Larry Tart and wife, Faye, of Sanford, NC, and Ken Tart and wife, Rebecca, of Benson; Sister, Shelby Raynor and husband, J. F., of Hopewell, VA; four Grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Danielle, Robbie, and Michelle; and two great grandchildren, Xian and Jennifer.
Graveside funeral service will be 10:00AM Tuesday at Memorial Cemetery in Dunn. Officiating will be Rev. David Hancock.

Mrs. Corrine H. Tart, age 82, of Ft. White, FL, died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL.
Mrs. Tart was born in Harnett County, March 1, 1925 to the late Samuel & Irene Barefoot Hardison and moved to Ft. White, FL, in 2002, coming from Sanford, NC. She was a Registered Nurse for thirty-six years and retired from Lee County Hospital in Sanford, NC. She loved her family and grandchildren dearly and was a member of Evangel Church of God.
Mrs. Tart is survived by daughters, Patricia Chasteen, and husband, Sonny, of Plant City, FL, and Kathy Hancock and husband, David of Ft. White, FL; brothers, Wallace Hardison and wife, Eva, of Dunn, NC and Sherwood Hardison and wife, Carol, of Richmond, VA; Sisters, Inez TerBush of Dunn, NC and Geraldine Widner and husband, Coy, of Conners, GA; four Grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Danielle, Robbie, and Michelle; and two great grandchildren, Xian and Jennifer.

Coats, NC: Mr. Billie Colon Matthews, age 81, of 33 Dunn St died Tuesday at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Friday at Coats United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Tommy Smith and Rev. Ronnie Byrd. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.
Mr. Matthews was born April 10, 1926 in Harnett County to the late Henry Colon and Lena Gregory Matthews. Mr. Matthews retired with Erwin Mills, was a US Army Veteran of World War II, and was also a member of the Coats United Methodist Church.
Surviving include Wife of 64 years, Frances Bowden Matthews; Son & Daughter-In-Law, Billy Lavon and Joyce Matthews of Coats; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Patsy and Louis Peterson of Dunn; Granddaughter and Spouse, Melissa and Corey Alphin of Angier; One Great-Grandson, Landon Matthews Alphin of Angier; Two Step-Grandsons and Spouses, Greg and Angie Peterson of Raleigh, and Rodney and Tonya Peterson of Benson; Four Step-Great-Grandchildren, James and Eva Catherine Peterson of Benson, and Greyson and Ashlyn Colville of Raleigh.

Benson, NC: Mr. Hobert Shelton Adams, age 87, of Benson died Sunday at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation of Johnston County. Graveside funeral service will be 11:00AM Tuesday at Devotional Gardens, Dunn. Officiating will be Rev. Edward Adams.
Mr. Adams was born April 30, 1920 in Johnston County to the late Lawrence and Mattie Hudson Adams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Turnage Adams. Mr. Adams was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was a member of Banner Post 109 American Legion.
Surviving, Children, Gwen Starling of Clinton, Shelton R. Adams of Benson, Suzette Jerilyn Stroud of Raleigh, Lynette “Lynn” Marvelyn Stephenson of Garner, Sharlette Dorcelyn Tucker of Benson, and Trevelyn Adams of Benson; Eleven Grandchildren, and Twelve Great Grandchildren.

Mr. John Ray Page age 73 of 501 44th Ave Apt E-5, Myrtle Beach, SC formally of Coats died Thursday in Myrtle Beach. Graveside Service will be held 3:00PM Sunday at Coats City Cemetery in Coats.
Mr. Page was born on November 18, 1933 to the late Percy & Bessie Bennett Page. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Doris Bailey Page.
No visitation will be held, however the family will receive friends at the Cemetery on Sunday
