Benson, NC: Mrs. Vara Heath Barbour, age 98, of 401 W. Woodall St. died Friday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Sunday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be the Rev. Aubrey Williamson. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Grove Original FWB Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Barbour was born October 6, 1909 in Johnston County to the late William James and Nancy Flora Barbour Heath. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mary’s Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Festus Franklin Barbour; sisters, Mary Hamm and Melma Wallace; and brothers, Elton Heath, J.R. “Rom” Heath, Alvin Heath, & Freeman Heath.
Surviving include, sisters, Verna H. Owen of Chesapeake, VA., Adele H. Harvey of Fuquay-Varina, and Florine H. Owen of Washington, NC; Several nieces & nephews.
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson Sunday from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service.
Mr. Kirby Eldred Allen

Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Kirby Eldred Allen, age 52, of 7151 US 301 South died Tuesday. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Condary Ellis and Rev. Curtiss Tatum. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born February 11, 1956 in Harnett County to Mary Alyn Lee Allen of Four Oaks and the late David Eldred Allen. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gail Allen Thompson. Mr. Allen was a heavy equipment technician with Percy L. Johnson in Raleigh. He attended Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist.
Kirby was a very devoted husband and father as well as a great friend to everyone. There aren’t enough words to describe how much he was loved by his family and friends.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are adoring Wife of 31 years, Sylva Weaver Allen; Daughter, Sheena Marie Allen of Four Oaks; Son, Jeremy Luke Allen of Four Oaks; Sisters & Brothers-in-Law, Becky & Phil Mahler of Clinton and Brookie & Kenny Mac Wood of Raleigh; Mother-in-Law, Mary Byrd Weaver of Four Oaks; Sister-in-Law & Husband, Mary W. & Steve C. Leonard of Raleigh; and Nephews, Benjamin Tyler Wood and Austin David Wood.
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 9:00PM Wednesday.

Benson, NC: Mr. Rubin William Koch, Sr., age 94, of 2359 Federal Road died Saturday at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Monday at Roselawn Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Henry Lee.
Mr. Koch was born January 5, 1914 in Comal County, Texas to the late Bruno and Emma Himer Koch. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Laura Wiedner Koch and Hazel Stephenson Medlin Koch; daughter, Maxine K. Medlin; and son, Rubin William “Bill” Koch, Jr. Mr. Koch was a textile plant manager with Derrin-Miliken Textiles in Taylor, SC, Robbins, NC, and Mexico. He was a member of Elevation United Methodist Church.
Surviving, Son-in-Law & Spouse, Dan & Gail Medlin of Benson; Grandchildren & Spouses, Kathy & DeVan Barbour, Danny & Katie Medlin, and Bill & Bonnie Medlin, all of Benson, Michelle Koch and Lisa Koch, both of Panama; Great Grandchildren, Cameron Barbour, Dee Barbour, Grimes Medlin, Catherine Medlin, Kylie Medlin, Moiseas Tatis, Stephania Tatis, Liz Marie Tatis, and Ana Victoria Della Togna.
Family will receive friends following the service at the home of Dan & Gail Medlin, 604 N. Lincoln Street, Benson.

Benson, NC: Mrs. Lyda McCabe Eason, age 95, of Benson died Friday. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Monday at Benson Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Cashwell and Rev. Bobby Caudle. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.
Mrs. Eason was born March 27, 1912 in Johnston County to the late Emmitt B. and Mattie Love McCabe. She was also preceded in death by her Husband, Romless Tee Eason; Sisters, Mary Barbour, Bertie Beasley, Ruby Johnson, and Clyda Hobbs; Brothers, Charlie McCabe and Junius McCabe; and Son-In-Law, James Earl McGee. Mrs. Eason was a homemaker and member of Benson Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving include, Children & Spouses, Joe Ann E. McGee of Benson, Betty E. & Hunter Aiken of Benson, Ray Nell E. & Ray Pearsall of Garner, Romie T. & Barbara Eason of Benson, Randy M. & Brenda Eason of Benson, and Dennis B. & Brenda Eason of Benson; 11 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Robert McCabe of Smithfield; Half-Sister, Betty Jo Cotton of Sumter, SC; and Half-Brothers, Frank McCabe & Jim McCabe of Matthews, SC.

Benson, NC: Mr. J. Leray Barefoot, age 66, of 1260 Denning Rd. died Thursday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Sunday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be the Revs. Leon Tart, Glenn McCullen, and Condary Ellis. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens, Dunn.
Mr. Barefoot was born August 8, 1941 in Johnston County to Ola Williams Barefoot of Benson and the late Labell Barefoot. He had retired from Erwin Mills after 38 years of service. Mr. Barefoot was also a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church where he was a deacon and served in many other capacities.
Surviving, in addition to his Mother, are Son & Daughter-In-Law, Chuck & Cathy Barefoot of Dunn; Granddaughter, Michelle N. Barefoot of Dunn; Sister & Brother-In-Law, Donna B. & Davey Stephenson of Benson; Aunt, Lela Pearl Barefoot of Benson, Niece & Spouse, Heather & Bradley Bullard of Autryville; Great Nephew, Luke Bullard; and Special Friend, Lois Ivey of Dunn.

Benson, NC: Mrs. Hilma Lee Mozingo age 83, of 5346 Meadowbrook Road, died Thursday at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00PM Friday in the Chapel of Rose & Graham Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Hayes and Mr. Steve Langston will officiate. Graveside Services will be held Saturday 1:00PM at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield, VA.
Mrs. Mozingo was born on September 13, 1924 in Johnston County to the late Perry & Allie Creech Allen. Mrs. Mozingo was a homemaker and member of New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert Mozingo and Melvin Barefoot and all of her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include, Sons & Daughters-in-law; Billy & Darla Barefoot of Benson, Rudy & Mary King Mozingo of Benson, Dennis & Kathy Mozingo of Midlothian, VA, and Alvin Lowery of Richmond, VA; Daughters & Sons-In- Law, Kay & Doug Lankey, Midlothian, VA and Sheila & Nindo Punturi of Princeton, WV; Six Grandchildren, Four Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great- Grandchild.

McGee’s Crossroads, NC: Mr. Charles Thomas Roberts, age 72, of McGee’s Crossroads died unexpectedly Thursday at his residence. A Graveside Service will be 11:00AM Saturday at Fellowship Community Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. R.B. Parrish.
Mr. Roberts was born February 4, 1936 in Johnston County to the late Thomas H. and Ethel Dupree Roberts. Mr. Roberts had farmed, and was the owner and operator of Bramble Wood Gardens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Fowler Roberts.
Dad was a farmer first and foremost, whether in the fields or in a greenhouse. He enjoyed watching seeds sprout, plants grow, and harvesting the everyday beauty that comes from working with nature and the land. Please honor him by planting and nurturing your favorite plants in the garden and seeing the wonder that he found in everyday life.
Surviving include, Son, David Roberts; Daughters & Son-In-Law, Kimberly & Jeffrey Lee, and Melissa Roberts; and Sister & Brother-in-Law, Helen R. & George E. Coates, all of McGee’s Crossroads.

Benson, NC: Mrs. Pauline M. McLamb, age 88, died Tuesday at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. funeral service will be Friday 2:00PM in the chapel of Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Officiating will be the Rev. Jesse Brock. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mrs. McLamb was born on May 4, 1919 to the late George W. & Dola Belle McLamb. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence McLamb and sons William Avery McLamb, James Edward McLamb and Roger McLamb. Mrs. McLamb was a homemaker.
Surviving are: Daughter & Son-In-Law, Brenda M & Roy Guin of Benson, Sons & Daughter-in-law, Robert & Susan McLamb of Lillington and Kenneth McLamb of Benson. Sister, Martha Barefoot of Dunn. Eleven Grandchildren and Eleven Great-Grandchildren.

Coats, NC: Mrs. Ellie Faircloth Ivey, age 96, of 504 Canal Dr., Senior Citizens Village in Dunn died Saturday. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Revs. L.B. Collins, Erfie Hayes and Wanda Bayles. Burial will follow in Red Hill Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ivey was born November 11, 1914 in Harnett County to the late Jesse Allen & Lissie Pollard Ivey. He was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Colon Ivey. Mrs. Ivey was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Coats.
Survivors include, Daughter & Son-In- Law, Sue & Charles Stephenson of Coats; Granddaughter & Fiance, Kimberly Wood & Terry Lee of Dunn; Great-Granddaughters, Anna Marie & Michelle Wood; Step-Granddaughter & husband, Vanessa & Don Amick of Angier; Step-Great-Grandchildren, Briana & Justin Amick; and several nieces & nephews; Special Friends, Juanita Stewart & Bertie Hobbs.
