Ambelal K. Patel, 80 of Wilson died Saturday. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. A funeral service with be 11a.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Dhaniben Patel; a daughter, Anusuya Patel; and three sons, Sudhir Patel, Rajendra Patel, and Hitesh Patel.
Arrangements are by Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
Mitchell Edward DePriest
November 2, 1953 – January 8, 2012
Mitchell Edward DePriest, 58, of Kenly died Sunday. A memorial service will be conducted 6 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah M. DePriest; a daughter, Jodi Ramos and husband, Antonio of Flint, MI; a son, Eddie Bogdanowitz of Kenly; one grandson, Javier Ramos of Flint, MI; and sister, Robin Wilson of Cadillac, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe DePriest and Ruth Brown.

Phillip Gene “Phil” Hamm
April 4, 1951 – January 16, 2012
Phillip Gene “Phil” Hamm, 60, of Wilson died Monday. Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Marsh Swamp Original FWB Church Cemetery, Sims.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
Phil was a diesel technician with Southeastern Diesel Sales and Service. His hobbies included racing and fishing. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Debby Godwin Hamm and godson, Kyle Matthew Strickland; his son, Cory Benton Hamm and Michelle and mother, Bonita Tippett, all of Nashville, Tenn; one grandson, John Phillip Hamm of Nashville, Tenn.; a step-grandson, Seth Fraley of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Janice Faye Rogers of Rocky Mount; two brothers, James Earl Hamm of Orlando, Fla., and Rev A.B. Hamm of Hillsborough; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Benton and Hattie Mae Rose Hamm; three brothers, Charles Ray Hamm, Gerald Darden Hamm, and Roy Calvin Hamm.
The Hamm family would like to give a special thanks to Phil’s caregivers, Mary Hamm and Shara Smith, the staff of both 4th and 5th floors at Wilson Medical Center, Dr. Scott Smith and the staff of Southeastern Medical Oncology, and Dr. Peggy Metts and the staff of Wilson Radiology.

Refugia M. Arizpe
September 5, 1940 – January 25, 2012
Refugia Meza Arizpe, 71, of Wilson died Wednesday. Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. The Rev. Philip Byrum will conduct the service. Burial will be 3:00p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home and at the home of Renato Arizpe at 1107 Robert Road W, Wilson.
She is survived by her husband Renato Arizpe and nine sons; Reynaldo of Brownville, Tx, Manuel of Mascot, Fla, Jose of Wilson, Juan Francisco of Vero Beach, Fla, Juan of Wilson, Jesus of Wilson, Esteban of Elm City, Romualdo of Vero Beach, Fla and Florention of Vero Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Marcela Meza.
Tracy Renee Thompson
February 7, 1975 – November 29, 2011
Tracy Renee Thompson, 36, of Wilson died Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Steve Clayton will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 9 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at her home.
Tracy was born
in Alexandria, Va. and moved to El Paso, Texas at a young age where she attended elementary and junior high school. She moved to NC in 1992 and graduated from James B. Hunt, Jr. High School in 1994.
Tracy never met a stranger and always found the good in people. She loved her family and NASCAR, Jeff Gordon #24 was her favorite. Tracy enjoyed her friends from the east to the west coast and stayed in touch with them by face book and twitter.
Tracy is survived by her mother, Elizabeth “Libby” Williams Thompson of Wilson; her father and step-mother, Christopher “Chris” and Marty Thompson of Lewisville, Texas; three aunts, Diane Gardner, Gail Moss (Johnny), and Joan Lucas (Jeff); two uncles, Roland Williams, Jr. (Connie), and Mickey Williams (Juanita) all of Sims; several cousins; a very special friend, Lance Pippin, and her dog, Bailey Gordon.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edgar and Daphney Williams; her paternal grandparents, Ed and Annie Mae Crane.

Frank Bass Jr. “Tootsie”
July 18, 1934 – December 25, 2011
Frank Bass Jr., “Tootsie” 77, of Wilson died Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Black Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway immediately following the service and other times at 905 Hood Street.
He worked for T.L. Herring for over 40 years.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine Dawson Bass; a daughter, Debbie Durham and husband, Wayne; a son, Ricky Bass and a Goddaughter, Pat Scott all of Wilson; two brothers, Bruce Bass and wife, Loris, and Gene Bass and wife, Judy all of Black Creek; two grandsons, Frankie Durham and Blake Durham both of Wilson; a great-granddaughter, Ava Perry of Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving him is his lifelong fishing and racing buddy, Billy Ray Lucas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Dorothy May Barnoski Geyer
April 29, 1920 – January 13, 2012
Dorothy May Barnoski Geyer, 91, of Wilson died Friday. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of St. Therese. The Rev. Gregory Lowchy will officiate. Private graveside services will be held in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Ind.
The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
Mrs. Geyer is survived by a daughter, Diane G. Kriesel and husband Richard of Wilson; two sons, David Geyer and wife Jan of Maryville, Tenn. and Richard Geyer of Calif.; five grandchildren, Renee K. Bunn and husband Brooks, John Kriesel and wife Anne Marie, Stephanie Kriesel Reavis and husband Scott, Brandi Geyer and Rick Geyer; two great-grandchildren, Coleman Bunn and Ellen Bunn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Geyer.
