Joseph Lloyd Fowlkes

Joseph Lloyd Fowlkes, 31, of Elm City died Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Barnes and Williams Family Cemetery, Wiggins Mill Road. The Rev. Ronald Clemmons will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Brenda O’Neal, 6632 Stage Coach Road, Elm City.
Mr. Fowlkes is survived by his wife, Rebecca Edwards Fowlkes; two sons, Alexander Fowlkes and Nicholas Fowlkes all of the home; his mother, Karrie Emery Berry of Providence Forge, Va.; his father, Douglas Lloyd Harrell of Tarboro, and a brother, Douglas Lloyd Harrell, Jr. of Providence, Va.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to his sons c/o Rebecca Edwards Fowlkes, 6703 Town Creek Road, Elm City, NC 27822.

Dorothy Eloise Windham
January 21, 1923 – October 23, 2011
Dorothy Eloise Windham, 88, of Wilson died Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Joy Rowe will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
Dorothy was a longtime active member of First Christian Church. She was very well known and actively involved in volunteer work in the Wilson community prior to her illness.
Mrs. Windham is survived by three daughters, Eloise Long and husband, Luther of Wilson, Pat Edmundson and husband, Mo of Fuquay-Varina, and Faye Hawley and husband, Donnie of Wilson; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Gardner and husband, Douglas of Wilson, and Frances Boykin of Spring Hope.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert C. Windham Jr., her son, Albert C. “Smokey” Windham III, and a sister, Mollie Flora.
The Windham family would like to give a special thanks to her friend and caregiver, Tonita Blue of Wilson.

William R. “Dickie” Page
October 21, 1940 – October 20, 2011
William R. “Dickie” Page, 70, of Wilson went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2011 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Fred Jones and the Rev. Larry Ball will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6:30 – 9 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home.
Mr. Page graduated from Elm City High School. He served his country in the United States Army from 1960 – 1965. While in the Army, he married his wife of almost 50 years, Edith Harrell. Upon returning home from the Army, he started in the construction business with his dad at Page Construction Company. He received his general contractors license in August 1996. Along with his brothers, they formed Page Brothers Construction Company where he worked until his retirement.
Mr. Page is survived by his wife, Edith Harrell Page; two sons, Douglas Page and wife, Tammy of Elm City, Carlton Page and wife, Debra of Wilson; three grandchildren, Cameron Page, April Page and Allison Page; two sisters, Edith Pridgen and husband, Jimmy of Elm City, Linda Benson and husband, David of Goldsboro; three brothers, Linwood Earl Page and wife, Linda of Goldsboro, Sherwood Page and wife, Edna of Grifton, and Tony Page and wife, Theresa of Wilson, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to two special friends, Richard and Harshala Pinto for all they did for our dad.
Glennie Ethelyn Tomlinson Forbes
December 15, 1911 – October 20, 2011
Glennie Ethelyn Tomlinson Forbes, 99, of Wilson died Thursday. A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Price, Jr. and the Rev. Bennie Wayne Poythress will officiate.
The family will receive friends 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
Mrs. Forbes is survived by three sons, Benjamin H. Forbes of Golden Valley, Ariz., Raymond E. Forbes and wife, Nancy of Raleigh, and W. Glenn Forbes and wife, Cindy of Wilson; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Clarence Forbes; two sons, Clarence Ray Forbes and Edward Bruce Forbes.

Harold Gray Dickerson
December 17, 1935 – October 19, 2011
Harold Gray Dickerson, 75, of Wilson died Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Wayne King, the Rev. Doug Radford and the Rev. Craig Simmons will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, and other times at 5917 Countryside Road.
He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, usher and was a member of the choir.
Mr. Dickerson is survived by his wife, Eleanor Gray Dickerson; a daughter, Ramey Jo Dail and husband, Greg of Wilson; two grandchildren, Grayson Dail and Jonathan Dail; two step brothers, Ray Jackson of Jasper, Ga. and Wallace Jackson of Hope Mills.

September 14, 1927 – October 18, 2011
John Randall deKeyzer, 84, of Wilson died Tuesday. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mr. deKeyzer is survived by his wife, Bessie P. deKeyzer; two daughters, Carolyn Thompson and husband, Jim, and Graylette deKeyzer all of Wilson; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gretchen Brewer and husband, Tommy of Wilson, and Nellie Verricchia and husband, A.J. of Bailey.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Ellis and a brother, Chris deKeyzer.

Janice Eatmon Manning, 72, of Bailey died Tuesday. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Bailey Cemetery. The Rev. Phillip Hawley will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and at other times will be at the home of Connie Bryant, 10858 Camp Charles Road, Bailey.
Mrs. Manning is survived by a daughter, Connie Manning Bryant and husband, Wayne of Bailey; a son, Stanley Joseph Manning of Bailey; two sisters, Geraldine “Gerri” Craft of Wilson, and Joyce Carroll of Bailey; a brother, Ronnie Dale Woodard of Sims; and three grandchildren, Tracy Bailey and Donna Sanders of Bailey, and Danny Manning and wife, Jessica of Lucama, and 4 great-grandchildren, Hunter Bailey, Lexi Sanders, Landen Sanders, and Haleigh Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Manning; her parents, Julia Wells and Prince Eatmon; a brother, Bud Eatmon; and her step-father, Ollie Woodard.
