Juanita Eskridge Turner

Juanita Eskridge Turner, 96, of Wilson passed away Friday. Her funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Tim McFatter will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 12 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Barbara Turner of the home; her son, James M. Turner and wife, Jean of Fairfax Station, Virginia; her granddaughters, Stacey Turner and husband, Bryan of Annapolis, Maryland and Terri Smith and husband, Shannon of Marshall, Virginia; her grandson, Jamie Turner and wife, Sue of Haymarket, Virginia and her seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aaron, Olivia, Brooke, Sam, Davis and Leo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin Turner, Sr.

Audrey White Allen
November 14, 1925 – July 19, 2015
Audrey White Allen, 89, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 19, 2015 at home. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Roney “Fred” Allen. She was a remarkable woman, supporting her family with a strong faith and love of her home.
Audrey was born
November 14, 1925, in Wilson County, to the late L. E. (Eddie) and Geneva Mercer White. A homemaker and devoted lifelong member of Hornes United Methodist Church, she sang joyously in the choir and attended the Wilson Christian Woman’s Club. Audrey also served as an American Red Cross Volunteer (Gray Lady) at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
Audrey is also survived by her daughter, Donna A. Johnson and husband Allen of Arden; her three sons, R. Edward Allen and wife, Nikita of Wilson, Robert B. Allen and wife, Faye of Madison Heights, Virginia, Barry G. Allen and wife, Susan of Winterville; one sister, Thelma W. Sherrod of Sims; ten grandchildren, Jessica Allen Wheeler (Justin) of Moneta, Virginia, Rebecca Allen Brantley(Tyler) of Wilson, Jonathan Allen(Tiffany) of Chantilly, Virginia, Laura Johnson of Savannah, Georgia, Mary Allen Jones(David) of Black Creek, Marci Allen of Elm City, Jennifer Allen of Greenville, Caroline Allen of Winterville, Will Allen of Winterville and Kim Grigsby Crocker (Brandon) of Marietta, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred W. Garton and Ruby W. Finch; four brothers, W. Kermit White, Garvis White, Selby E. White and Roney E. White.
Her funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Wilson. The Rev. Jason Schweinberg will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

Joseph Martin, Jr.
May 3, 1965 – May 15, 2015
Joseph Martin, Jr. 50, of Wilson, beloved son and brother, went home to be with the Lord on Friday. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Joseph B. Martin, Sr. and Audrey M. Martin of Fayetteville and his brother, Todd Martin of Fayetteville.

Blanch Baker Bowen
February 28, 1916 – November 3, 2011
Blanch Baker Bowen, 95, of Wilson passed away Thursday at Wilson Pines. Graveside services will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Rose Garden in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Benny Poythress will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home of Hilda Evans.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by two daughters, Hilda B. Evans and husband Willard of Wilson and Joan B. Poythress and husband, the Rev. Benny Poythress of Elm City; two sons, Rudolph Bowen and wife, Margie, and Melvin Bowen and wife, Ann all of Wilson; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Bowen; her parents, John Baker and Mittie Edwards Baker; four sisters and five brothers.
Alfred Carlton Jones
August 25, 1952 – June 10, 2013
Alfred Carlton Jones, 60, of Wilson passed away Monday. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Wayne King and the Rev. Doug Radford will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1 – 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at 5000 Conifer Court, Wilson.
Alfred was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and son. He was a longtime employee of Piggly Wiggly.
Alfred is survived by his daughters, Tammy Lynn Conrad of Fremont and Lisa Renee Jones of Taylorville; his son, Jason Carlton Jones of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Ryan Scott Conrad, Kaitlyn Marissa Conrad, Brittany Lynn Tomlinson and Matthew Dylan Tomlinson; his great-granddaughter, Kylie Conrad; his mother, Hazel Boykin Jones of Wilson; his sisters, Mary Sue Bradford of Wilson and Judy Jones Liverman of Zebulon and his brothers, Jeff Jones of Youngsville and Mike Jones of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Blake Jones.

Michael Quinn Raper
February 7, 1970 – July 23, 2013
Michael Quinn Raper, 43, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Christopher B. Raper will conduct the service.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Chris and Dianne Raper.
Michael was a loving father, son, brother, and friend to all that knew him. He will be greatly missed and thought of with warm memories that will never end and will live on in our hearts. Michael was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan.
Michael is survived by his son, Tyler Quinn Raper of Rocky Mount; his father, Chris Raper of Elm City; his brother, Christopher B. Raper of Greensboro and Michael’s lifelong friend, Charles Michael Cone of Wilson.

Lawton Earl Nichols, 92, of Sims passed away Friday, May 24, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marsh Swamp Original Free Will Baptist Church, 6664 Rock Ridge School Road, Sims. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ray Wells will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at 7177 Old Raleigh Road, Sims.
Lawton is survived by his wife, Zilphia High Nichols of the home; his two daughters, Joan N. Bunn and husband, Bruce, and Susan N. Davis and husband, Keith; his son, Bradley Nichols and wife, Deloras all of Sims; his grandchildren, Ken Nichols, Dean Nichols, William Nichols, Chris Bunn, Elizabeth B. Seagroves, Jonathan Davis and Meagan D. Eldridge; seven great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Geneva Bunn Nichols; one sister and three brothers.
