Peter Robert Smith

Bolivia — Peter Robert “Pete” Smith, 70, of Bolivia died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.

Mr. Smith was born icon in Hudson, New York on March 31, 1943, son of the late Henrey Smith and Elizabeth Garrett Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. Mr. Smith was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and he loved to sing to patients during nursing home visits. He had worked as a bridge tender at the Sunset Beach swing bridge.

Survivors include his wife Gladys Smith of the home; one step — son Terrance Auburn Simpson; three sisters; four brothers; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Cape Fear Memorial Park with Reverend Charles Drew officiating.

Charles William Puleo

Supply — Charles William Puleo, age 82, of Supply died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Puleo was born icon in Uniontown, Pa on September 13, 1931, son of the late Sebastian and Balbina Puleo. Mr. Puleo retired from the U.S. Army, served in the Merchant Marine and worked at CP&L for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his brother Anthony Puleo, a sister Lannie Paul, and grandson Sebastian Charles Puleo.

Survivors include his ex — wife, Dora Puleo of Southport, son Jimmy Puleo of Supply, daughter Rose Goins and husband Dwayne of Southport, brother Frank Puleo of Pennsylvania, sister Ida Lee Mosley of Kansas, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 7 step grandsons.

Graveside services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Cape Fear Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held at Peacock — Newnam White Funeral Home, Southport, on Thursday from 6 til 8p.m.

Amanda Boswell Frye

Winnabow — Amanda Boswell Frye, 34 of Winnabow passed away August 26, 2013 at her home. Amanda was born icon December 17, 1978 in New Hanover County the daughter of Robert Boswell and Renee Caudill. She loved her children and family, she loved to cook and socialize, she had a love for people and never met a stranger. Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by a brother Stephen Raleigh.

Survivors include her husband David Frye of the home; a daughter Courtney Cain; two sons Austin Cain and Jay Ussery Frye; her father Robert Boswell and wife Tammy of Wilmington; mother Renee Raleigh and wife Debbie Cook of Boiling Spring Lakes; three brothers Brandon Raleigh of Winnabow, Brian Raleigh and wife JoAnn of Bolivia, and Robert Allen Boswell and wife Kari of Wilmington; a step — brother Alex Speight of Greenville; a step — sister Jamie Lyons and husband Jay of Leland; step — father Jack Raleigh of Winnabow; maternal grandmother Barbara Caudill; paternal grandfather Robert Boswell; maternal great — grandmother Omage Sullivan all of Winnabow; mother — in — law Charlotte Byrd; sister — in — law Patti Treadway both of Southport; two uncle Keith Caudill and wife LaRinda of Boiling Spring Lakes and Donnie Caudill and wife Libby of Winnabow; two aunts Bonnie Powell and husband Rob of Winnabow and Nancy Edward and husband Johnny of Wilmington.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 30, 2013 at Peace Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member, with Reverend Doug Fairfax and Reverend Hoyt King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will have visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Peacock – Newnam & White funeral service in Southport.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Amanda’s memory may be made to Renee Raleigh, 211 Harper Lake Drive, Southport, NC 28461.

Susan Fierko Albicker

Southport — Susan Fierko Albicker, age 61, of Southport passed away on August 26, 2013 at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, NC after a courageous 2 — year battle with cancer.

Susan was born icon on January 16, 1952 to Francis Fierko and the late Anna Bezak Fierko in Philadelphia, PA. She began her career as a classroom teacher in New Jersey and spent over 25 years as an administrator at Minnieland Day Schools in Virginia, where she touched the lives of countless students and teachers. Susan’s life was devoted to raising her family, helping others through volunteer work including the church choir and food pantry, and living each day to the fullest. She loved to sing, dance and spend time at the beach.

Susan’s kind, generous and fun — loving spirit was contagious to all who met her.

After spending 29 years in Woodbridge, VA, Susan recently retired to Southport, NC with her loving husband of 30 years, Robert Albicker. Susan will be cherished and missed by her husband and their two daughters, Katherine and Kristen Albicker of Richmond, VA, and her loving dog, Ginger. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Nightingale and her family of Princeton Junction, NJ; her brother, Francis Fierko and his family of Orlando, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family invites you to gather to remember Susan at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 5269 Dosher Cutoff S.E. in Southport, NC followed by a Mass of Catholic Burial at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, Susan’s family would like you to make a donation in her name to either the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Food Bank, or to the SECU Hospice House, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422, to honor Susan’s generous and giving spirit.

Agnes Marie Casto

Boiling Spring Lakes — Agnes Marie Casto of Boiling Spring Lakes died Friday August 23, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Casto was born icon in Wyden, West Virginia on February 7, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Delbert and Sadie Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Casto. While residing in West Virginia she was a member of Big Union Baptist Church. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church of Bolivia.

She is survived by a son, Gary Casto and wife Murri of Boiling Spring Lakes; a daughter, Diane Griffy and husband John of Boiling Spring Lakes; a sister, Patricia Holcolmb of Brookesville, Florida; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday August 28, 2013 at 6pm at the chapel of Peacock — Newnam & White funeral service with Reverend Jack Edge officiating. The family will receive friends one prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dille, West Virginia.

Joseph “Jo Jo” Fullwood

Southport — Mr. Joseph “Jo Jo” Fullwood age 68 of Southport died Saturday June 15, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Fullwood was born icon in Southport, NC on May 16, 1945 and was the son of the late Lewis and Josie Varnam Fullwood. He was dearly loved throughout the Southport Community and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by two brothers, Marvin Fullwood and Leon Fullwood both of Southport; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Oeschger of Gulfport, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 1pm in the chapel of Peacock — Newnam & White funeral service with Reverend Fred Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Cape Fear Memorial Park.

Members of the Southport Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 — 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

William J. Fleming

Southport — Mr. William J. Fleming age 80 of Southport died Friday June 14, 2013.

Mr. Fleming was born icon in Hoosick, NY on November 13, 1932 and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Agnes Dorr Fleming. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Coleen and Mary Cathleen Fleming. Mr. Fleming was an avid golfer and a devoted fan of Notre Dame football. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Fleming; two brothers, Walter and Joe Fleming.

The family will receive friends Sunday June 16, 2013 from 4 — 6pm at Peacock — Newnam & White funeral service, 1411 N. Howe Street, Southport.
