Supply — Mr. Arnold Leo Hewett Sr. age 80 of Supply died Monday November 26, 2012 at SECU Hospice Facility, Bolivia.
Mr. Hewett was born
in Brunswick County on May 7, 1932 and was the son of the late Jasper and Macie Robinson Hewett. He was preceded in death by a son, Arnold Leo Hewett Jr. He was retired logger.
He is survived by his wife Louise Hewett; a son, Doug Hewett of Supply; four daughters, Sharon Knight of Supply, Debbie Melendres of Supply, Cindy Clemmons of Shallotte, Marsha Rhodes of Supply; a brother, Rex Allen Hewett of Shallotte; a sister, Yvonne Ferguson of Ash; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday November 29, 2012 at 2pm at White funeral service Chapel with Reverend Maurice Milligan officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Shallotte.
The family will receive friends from 6 — 8 Wednesday evening at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Dr. Shallotte and other times from the residence.

Edward David Deitrick
Boiling Spring Lakes — Edward David Deitrick
Mr. Edward David Deitrick, 71 of Boiling Spring Lakes, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 in the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia.
Mr. Deitrick was born
on July 21, 1941 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Mr. Deitrick was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a loving and gentle husband and father that touched the lives of many people. Mr. Deitrick had previously lived in New Hampshire and moved to Boiling Spring Lakes in 2007. He loved boating, fishing, working with children and in particular the mentally challenged children. He was the owner of the Lunch Box Café in New Hampshire. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Parrish Deitrick of the home and two sons, James Parrish of Connecticut and Robert Parrish of Boiling Spring Lakes and one daughter, Sherri Parrish Crawford and husband Matt of Wilmington.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes with Pastor John Roy officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

Patricia Hagerty Glowka (Patty)
St. James — Patricia Hagerty Glowka (Patty), 83, of St. James, NC, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Friday, November 22, 2012.
Patricia was born
December 5, 1928, in Hackensack, NJ. She raised seven children, and now has 11 grandchildren and one great — grandchild, never missing an important family event. Her positive attitude, enthusiastic love for golf and strong work ethic were an inspiration to all who knew her. Pat graduated from Hackensack High School in 1947, received her degree from Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Pat was an avid golfer and was a member of the Clubs at St. James Plantation in Southport North Carolina. She enthusiastically shared her passion for golf with family and good friends. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Glowka; parents, Francis and Catherine Hagerty; and Brother Francis Hagerty Jr.
Pat is survived by her California siblings, Richard Hagerty and Kathleen Hagerty Johnston, seven children, John F. Gregg, Paul L. Gregg, Peter K. Gregg, Dorothy Gregg Mercier, Catherine Gregg Weisnicht, James B. Gregg and Thaddeus B. Gregg, 11 grandchildren, Laurel Gregg Teräväinen, Chelsea Gregg, Francis Mercier, Michelle Mercier, Roland Mercier, Gregg Weisnicht, James Weisnicht, Patricia Weisnicht, Samantha Gregg, Olivia Gregg and the awesome Henry Gregg, plus one beautiful great — grandchild Carter Mercier.
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport NC, at 5269 Dosher Cut off SE, Southport, NC, on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM.

Elizabeth “Betty” Duncan Martin
Boiling Spring Lakes — Elizabeth “Betty” Duncan Martin, age 74, of Boiling Spring Lakes passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Wilmington.
Betty was born
February 13, 1939 in Glasgow, Scotland, daughter of the late Fred Duncan and Helen Blackwood Duncan. She graduated Whitehill College in Scotland and afterward came to the United States to become a citizen in her early twenties. Betty retired from Dosher Hospital after 16 years and was a member of the British Club. She loved to dance and always wore a smile. Preceding her in death was her brother Edward Duncan, sister Freda Timmons, and step — son Gene Raymond Martin, Jr.
Survivors include her husband Gene Martin, Sr. of Boiling Spring Lakes; step — son Timothy Martin of Wilmington; two step — daughters Terri Poe and husband Randy of Boiling Spring Lakes and Tracey Carroll and husband Patrick of Wilmington; brother William Duncan of Scotland; sister Mary Duncan Bekusch of Scotland; and six step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Trent Watts officiating, with a reception to follow at the church.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 12 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Peacock – Newnam & White funeral service

Brittany Carol Rayl
Supply — Brittany Carol Rayl, age 18, of Supply passed away Monday, May 27, 2013.
Brittany was born
in New Hanover County on August 16, 1994, daughter of Jeffrey Rayl and Pam Jesmer Sullivan. She is a 2012 graduate of South Brunswick High School and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Brittany loved the outdoors where she could fish, hunt and be on the beach but also loved sitting on a blanket in her front yard with her son. She also enjoyed going drag racing with her granddaddy. Brittany was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Tom Waldington.
Survivors include her father Jeff Rayl and wife Sissy of Supply; mother Pam Sullivan and husband Billy of Winnabow; one son Brantley Clayton Rayl; paternal grandparents Curtis and Betty Rayl of Bolivia; maternal grandmother Catherine Waldington of Wilmington; step grandmother Eleanor Sullivan of Winnabow; two brothers Charles Andrew Rayl of Supply and Jeffrey Rayl, Jr. and fiance’ Ashley Larson of Maco; three nephews Mason Rayl, Ayden Rayl, and Kameron Rayl; one niece Alysia Rayl; several aunts, uncles and cousins; best friends Brittany Thompson and Hannah Davis and many other friends who will truly miss her.
For Brittany’s sake, please wear your seatbelt.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church with Deacon Joe Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

St. James — Harriet Mary Brodzik
Harriet Mary Brodzik (nee Milewski) “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15. Harriet Brodzik (June 11, 1918 – October 29, 2013), daughter of Jo Cornillaud, St. James Plantation, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday evening at Universal Healthcare Nursing Home in Bolivia, North Carolina.
She was the loving wife of the late Joseph J. Brodzik, and loving mother to their five children. (late) Harriet Mary, (late) Rita L. (Theodore Nester Sr.), Rosemarie V. (Giles Kruse), Josephine S. (Mel H. Cornillaud Jr.) and Thomas M. (Karen) Brodzik. “Grandma Brodzik” was loved by her ten grandchildren: Ted (Alison) Nester Jr., Steve Nester, Richard Nester, Thomas J. (Natasha) Nester, Michelle Nester, Dr. Amy Kruse (Thomas Clemence), Michael D. (Regina) Cornillaud, Stephen G. (Margie) Cornillaud, James M. & Julieanne E. Brodzik. And considered “Everybody’s Grandma” by her seven great grandchildren…Nathan Nester, Ashley and Jessica Nester, Cassandra and Christian Cornillaud and Sasha and Marcus Cornillaud.
“Mom” was an encourager and a faithful “woman of prayer” who will be dearly missed! Harriet was a member of the Rosary Society and The Young at Hearts Group at St. Florian Church, Chicago, Ill. She was also a member of the Polish Ladies of American Veterans.
A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Nov. 2 10:00 am at Our Lady of Knock Church, and Entombment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Ill. A “Celebration of Rememberance” will be held in her honor within the coming month at the home of Mel & Jo Cornillaud, St. James Plantation.

Bolivia — Mrs. Waynea Lee Sellers age 70 of Bolivia died Saturday November 2, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Sellers was born
in Brunswick County on September 16, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Milton H. and Odell Smith Johnson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Amaryliss Clark. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, best friend, and love of her life of 51 years, James Robert Sellers; three children, Tina Goodrich and husband Noel of Irmo, SC, Shelby Sellers and Robert Sellers of Bolivia; seven grandchildren, Erica Ratcliffe, Nicole Goodrich, Jason Goodrich, Michael Rivenbark, Shayna Rivenbark, Alyssa Sellers, Madison Sellers; great grandchildren, Ashanti Price and Josiah Hankins; her very special fur baby, Gypsy; a brother, Buddy Johnson and companion “BJ” of Bolivia; a sister, Rosa Caison and husband Jerry of Supply; a special daughter, Mary Ann Janeda.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 5th 2013 at 2pm at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Monroe Cooke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
