Harriet Elsie Stuart
Boiling Spring Lakes - Harriet Elsie Stuart, 85 of Boiling Spring Lakes, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Stuart was born
December 21, 1928 the daughter of the late Samuel and Jessie Woodin Goodsell. She was formerly a member of First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes. She loved knitting, gardening, watching golf, and bowling, once bowling a perfect 300 game. Mrs. Stuart loved to go on long drives and sightsee. She was preceded in death by her first husband Foster Burritt Eaton, who was a sergeant in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater; her second husband Patrick Louis Stuart who had served in the US Marine Corp; and eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving is her son Randy Foster Eaton and wife Jacqueline of Southport, three daughters, Elsie Webster and husband Charles of Dover Plains, NY, Diane M. Kieley and husband Kenneth of Plymouth, NH, and Jeanette Watts of Boiling Spring Lakes; eight grandchildren, Donna Watts, Erica Evans, Sam Watts, Mary Ann Dorschmidt, Justin Webster, Joshua Webster, Kenneth Kieley, Jr., and Denise Van Zandt; and ten great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in the Peacock – Newnam & White funeral service Chapel with Reverend John Eagles officiating. Burial will follow at Cape Fear Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Bobbie Sprouse Brock
Southport - Bobbie Sprouse Brock, 72 of Southport, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Brock was born
April 11, 1942 in Morganton, NC the daughter of the late Ben and Sue Norris Sprouse. She was the former owner and operator of Four Oaks Garden Center in Southport. She was preceded in death by an infant son Kenny Hoganson and a brother Ben “Bennie” Sprouse, Jr.
Surviving is her husband Larry Brock, Sr. of the home; a son Larry Brock, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Sanford; a daughter Karen Wehlage and husband Josh of Anderson, Indiana; a brother Loy Buff of Oak Island; two sisters Irene Kelley of Morganton and Hattie Huffman of Hickory; five grandchildren, Rachel Wehlage, Gregor Brock, Noah Wehlage, Kylie Brock, and Alisha Wehlage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the Peacock – Newnam & White funeral service Chapel with Reverend Todd Houston officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 pm prior to the service.

Stephen “Dale” Faucette
Stephen “Dale” Faucette, 51, Warehouse Manager with Cardinal International, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 14, 2009. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 18 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. We remember Dale as our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. Dale loved spending time with his family. You could often find him at the ball fields coaching and cheering on his sons. Dale had a strong passion for many sports and was an avid Duke fan. Actively involved in his church, Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Dale appreciated his church family. A native of Granville County, he enjoyed spending time with his dad as a member of the Eno Masonic Lodge #210 and of the Sudan Temple. Dale’s sons will miss watching Duke games and playing video games with their dad. They will miss his kind heart and how he made them laugh. Surviving are his wife, Beth Freeman Faucette; sons, Justin Faucette and wife, Carter, of Cary, Joseph and Will Faucette, both of the home and Daniel Austin and wife, Jennifer of Roxboro; parents, Steve and Pauline Faucette of Creedmoor; sister, Lynne Bullock of Stem and brother Jeff Faucette and wife, Betsy of Creedmoor and mother-in-law, Sue Freeman. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Austin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Faith Life Center and at other times at the home of Sue Freeman, 6404 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh. Frank Louis Corbi
Frank Louis Corbi, 87, passed away January 14, 2010, at his home in Cary, NC.
He was born
in Alliance, Ohio, and was the son of the late Samuel and Louise Corbi. Frank attended Alliance H.S. and Mt. Union College and Kent State University, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Music Ed. in 1983 from KSU. A noted jazz musician, Frank began playing professionally tenor saxophone and clarinet at age 13.
He joined the USAF during WWII, as a member of the USAF Band at Ellington Field in Houston TX. He toured the surrounding area with a small jazz group to promote war bonds. He completed his education after the war and began teaching as Tuscarawas Valley High School's band and choral director for 31 years while also performing at wedding receptions, restaurants and clubs in that area. He retired from teaching in 1984.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Mae Sibila, in 1982, and his sister, Alda Petitti, in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Carol Mercer Corbi, sons, Michael and Chris Corbi, and daughters Mary Alice Biclawski and husband Randy and Lisa Elliott and husband Ray, all of the Stark/Tuscarawas County, OH area. Stepchildren include Tricia Welsh and husband Jay Sloan of Chatham County, NC, Jeff Welsh of N. Canton, OH, and Julie deMello, of Amman, Jordan. Grandchildren include Timothy, Melissa and Jaden Corbi; Renee and Brett Elliott, and Sean, Sara, and Alex Welsh, all of Ohio, and Julia Sloan of Chatham County.
Frank and Carol moved to Cary, NC in 1984, when Frank began sitting in with local jazz musicians to let them know he was available for jazz gigs, and soon formed his own quartet.
He continued playing professionally until 2008, and was known and loved by many jazz musicians in this area. Frank had legions of fans and friends wherever he lived and whomever he met.
A funeral mass was held on Monday, January 18 in St. Michael's Church in Cary, and a reception celebrating his life followed at Georgio's Restaurant, close by the church.
A memorial service also will be held at the Trinity Church in Bolivar, OH. A date and time is to be announced at a later date.

Herbert Wesley Burke, Jr.
Herbert Wesley Burke, Jr., 87, of Angier, N.C. entered into his beloved Savior's presence on Sunday, December 27, 2009. He was born
in New Hampshire to Herbert, Sr. and Anna Burke on April 10, 1922.
He proudly served his country as a Marine during World War II.
He received a Bible Theology degree and entered the ministry in 1967. After serving as a Baptist minister for over 30 years in New York and then in North Carolina, he retired from the pulpit. He continued as a faithful servant of the Lord at Benson Grove Baptist Church.
Pastor Burke is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, June Burke. He has four children, Herb Burke (wife Pam); Donna Perkins (husband Phil), both of Raleigh; Carolyn Bush (husband Steve), of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Paul Burke (wife Susan), of Willow Spring. He has for surviving sisters, Opal Scaletti, Kathy James, Janet Sanphy, and Margaret Grant, all four are out of state. He has eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Phillip Bush, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Burke.
The viewing was held Tuesday evening, December 29, 2009 at Benson Grove Baptist Church, Hwy. 50, Benson, NC from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral services were held at Benson Grove Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday December 30, 2009. Services entrusted to Williford Funeral Home, 919-552-2211.
Sara Louise Moore
Sara Louise Moore, age 65 died on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Born and raised in Mt. Airy, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Louise Walker, and a longtime resident of Newport News, Va., Statesville, N.C. and Garner, N.C. She is survived by her sons, Steven Game of Morgantown, W.V., and Bradford Moore of Natick, Mass., her sister Bette Johnson, and a very dear group of friends in the Triangle area. She was also the loving grandmother of Dylan Joseph and Taylor Olivia, and a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Henderson. A memorial service in her honor was held Saturday, January 9, at noon at McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 US 70 Bus Hwy West, Clayton, N.C. George G. Brown
George G. Brown, 79 passed away on December 26, 2009 in Garner, N.C. He was born
in Shelby, N.C. to the late Gamwell and Bessie Brown. A graduate of Shaw University, George Brown was a retired Magistrate and a former Marine, who dedicated the majority of his life to the service of others. George was a devoted father and husband and he is survived by a wife, Kathleen of Garner, N.C., three daughters Kimberly and Ashley Brown of Spartanburg, S.C., Robin Brown of Raleigh, N.C., a son Eric Brown of Atlanta, Ga., eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step children.
The family received visitors on Wednesday December 30 at noon at Williford Funeral Home in Fuquay- Varina, N.C. Funeral services began at 1 p.m. A memorial service was held in Shelby, N.C. at Enloe Mortuary on December 31 at 1 p.m. Funeral Services were entrusted to the Williford Funeral Home, 919-552-2211.

William Augustus Boger, Sr., 71, died Thursday, January 7, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Holland’s United Methodist Church. A native of Mecklenburg County, William was born
January 1, 1939 to the late William Jackson and Mattie Flynn Boger. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Nancy Motsinger Boger, daughter Karen Metler (Mike), sons William Augustus, Jr. ( Elvira), Kevin Boger (Angie) and Christopher Boger, sister Carolyn Brown (Frank), grandchildren, Sara, Emma, Nina, Lindsey and Hayley and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will follow the Memorial Service at Holland’s UMC.
Shirley Hendee Quinn
St. James - Shirley Hendee Quinn
Shirley Hendee Quinn, 76, of St. James passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Quinn was born
March 25, 1938, daughter of William and Hazel Hendee. She retired from Kansas City, Missouri in 1999. Mrs. Quinn attended Life Community Church in Wilmington. She volunteered for Hope Chest and St. James Service Club. Mrs. Quinn along with her husband was extremely active with the St. Patty’s Day Bash Golf Tournament in St. James to Benefit Alzheimer’s North Carolina. She was very supportive in raising money for breast cancer research. Mrs. Quinn was preceded in death by her sister Louise Spafford – Vaughn.
Survivors include her husband David Quinn of the home; one son, David William Quinn, Jr. and wife Rea of Southport; one brother, Richard Preston and wife Wilma of Charlotte, Vermont; two grandchildren, Sean Patrick Quinn of Wilmington and Evan James Quinn of Southport; and Brandee Donnelly of Southport who was like her daughter, and Brandee’s two children Hunter and Morgan.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
