Chesterfield, SC - Mr. David McDuffie Jr. 75 of 564 Cherry St. died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville, SC.
Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of the late David McDuffie Sr. and Fannie Mae Moss McDuffie.
A Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Faison Chapel Baptist Church with Moderator James A. Davis, officiating. Burial will follow in the Boykin Family Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife, Dorothy Boykin McDuffie; three sons, Kenneth McDuffie and Robert McDuffie of Waldorf, MD and Randy McDuffie of Alexandria, VA; three daughters, Linda Bell of Woodbridge, VA, Rosemary McDuffie and Shirl McDuffie of Waldorf, MD; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he has been reunited with his daughter, Peggy Jean McDuffie. Viewing will be held Saturday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home.
Charles L. Armwood

Mt. Olive - Mr. Charles Armwood, 76 of 126 E. Main St. died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
Born in Wayne Co., he is the son of the late Floyd and Marie Swinson Armwood.
Life Celebration Service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Best Chapel FWB Church with Rev. William Waters, officiating. Burial will follow in Cobbs Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife, Gloria Armwood of the home; three daughters, Miracle Armwood of the home, Cynthia Armwood of Holland and Cheryl Isabu of McClain, VA; two brothers, Floyd Armwood and Socrattees Armwood of Alexandria, VA; three sisters, Tyvolia E. Coward of Sask, Canada, Vernann Williams of Ft. Washington, MD and Vera Lee Armwood of Bowie, MD; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be present from 6:00-7:00 p.m. to receive friends.
Irene Highsmith

Warsaw - Mrs. Irene Outlaw Highsmith, 83 of 118 W. John St. died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Lenior Memorial Hosptial.
She was the daughter of the late Albert and Lela Ammons Quinn.
funeral service will be held Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Kenansville with Rev. Cornolius Morre, officiating. Burial will follow in Outlaw Cemetery.

Warsaw - Mr. Thurman Miller, 91 went from labor to reward on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Warsaw Health & Rehab.
Thurman was born
in Duplin County, to the late Claude and Nora Quinn Miller.
Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016, 1:00 P.M., at Hines Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 320 Prospect St. in Warsaw, NC. Rev. Braxton Frederick will be officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.
He is survived by one daughter, Nora Lee (Thomas) of Coats, NC; sons, Thurman Smith (Flora) of Warsaw, NC, and Eddy Davis of Warsaw, NC; one brother, Dommie Miller of Warsaw, NC; sister in-law, Ruby Jean Miller of Warsaw, NC; six grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A time of viewing/visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 during the hours of 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Garris Funeral Home.

She is survived by three sons, Wayne Miller of Rocky Mount, NC, Scottie Boykin, Buffalo New York, and Alfonso Miller of Calypso, NC

Mt. Olive - Deacon Joseph Warren Sr., 87 of 102 E. Maple St. went from labor to reward on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, he is the son of the late George Owen and Lena Warren.
Homegoing Celebration Service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Mt. Olive with Elder Ernest Watson, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Cemetery.
Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his children, David Warren of Virginia, Dr. Joseph Warren Jr. (Linda) of Smithfield, James Warren (Linda) of Faison, Ronnie S. Warren (Shirley) of Goldsboro, Ronnie Warren (Angelene) of Goldsboro and Teresa Warren of the home; 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he has been reunited with his beloved wife, Eliza Warren, son, Arthur Warren and brother, Everette Warren.

in Duplin County. She is the daughter of the late Joseph David Faison and Almira Lofton Faison.
Homegoing Service will be held Thursday July 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Willie C. Alford, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Cobbs Cemetery.
Cherished and loving memories will linger in the hearts of her sons, Jesse Oates of Faison, William Oates of Rochester, NY, and Kenneth Oates of Ft. Pierce, FL; three daughters Alice O. Ramon of Faison, Annie Lucas (Wiley) of Rocky Mount and Melinda Henderson (Tony) of Rochester, NY; brother, Mondrick "Little Bud" Faison (Joyce) of Faison; son-in-law, Kenneth Bell of Faison, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Peter AME Church, 209 E. George St. Warsaw with Minister Geraldine Burden officiating. Burial will follow in Middleton Cemetery.
