Homegoing Service will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Augusta Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Brody Carmack, officiating. Burial will follow in Cobbs Cemetery.
Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of her three grandsons; nephews, nieces, including a special niece, Dorothy Wright of Dudley; other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.
Dora Lee Williams

Washington, DC - Mrs. Dora Lee Williams of 1417 Saratoga Ave. formally of Duplin Co., died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Crescent City Center in Riverdale, MD.
Born January 9, 1933, she is the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Mae Hodges Dewitt.
Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Warsaw. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.
She leaves to cherish loving memories to her sons, Thadeus Williams of Washington, DC and McKinly Williams of Hyattsville, MD; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren.; two brothers, George Dewitt and Leroy Dewitt of Warsaw; two sisters, Annie Ruth Carlton and Retha Lowe of Warsaw; one aunt, Louise Wilson of Warsaw; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held Saturday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church.
Jeffery Franklin Stokes

Mt. Olive - Mr. Jeffery Franklin Stokes, 85 of 136 E. Nelson St. died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Smithfield.
Born in Duplin Co., he is the son of the late Preston and Addie Joyner Stokes.
funeral service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Payne Temple AME Zion Church with Rev. Lemont Dudley, officiating. Burial will follow in First Congregational Church Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his love and legacy to his children, Reginald (Deborah) West of Dudley, Thomas Stokes of Mt. Olive; Jerry (Julia) Stokes of Dudley and Lisa (Zeno) Williams of Warsaw; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great granchildren, six great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Anna (OB) Brown of Warrensville, OH and Madeline Oliver of Dudley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a special friend, Doris Robinson.
He has been reunited with his wife, Helen Pigford Stokes and his daughter, Ada Kornegay.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.

Homegoing Service will be held Monday, September 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Goldsboro-Raleigh Assembly, 211 W. Hooks River Rd. Goldsboro with Elder Kendall Clark, officiating. Burial will follow in Cobbs Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish loving memories to his children, Johnny (Patricia) Bell of Faison, Larry Bell of Goldsboro, Cornell (Pam) Bell of Baltimore, MD, Elder Jimmy (Velma) Frederick of Clinton, Evon (Nate) George of Faison, Annette (William) George of Goldsboro, Elder Mary (Willie) Applins of Warsaw, Minister Eddie Mae (Steve) Moore of Mt. Olive, Minister Elizabeth Blackmore of Faison, Elder Frances (Otto) Hill of Warsaw, Linda (Rev. Thomas) Raynor of Clinton and Kathleen (Gregory) Galloway of Faison; two sisters, Janie Bell and Bettie Blue of Faison, 35 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he has been reunited with his wife, Frances Lee Bell.

Born in Duplin Co., she is the daughter of Beatrice Williams Miller and the late Eddie Lee Smith Sr.
Life Celebration Service will be held Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at KEMBA Headquarters with Rev. Charles Corbitt, officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery.
Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of her children, Wanda Gail Bright (Anthony)of Turkey, Colleen Smith (Sylvester)of Warsaw, Norma Smith (Melvin)of Warsaw, Angela Russell (Gregory) of Warsaw and Keisha Russell (Maurice)of Warsaw; her mother and step-father, Beatrice and David B. Faison - Mrs. Rita Javonn Faison Carlton, 55 of 115 Ernest Tann Lane died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center, Kenansville.
"Von" as she was affectionally called by family and friends was born
in Duplin County. She is the daughter of Lila Tann Faison and the late Clarence Faison.
Life Celebration Service will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Moses Chapel Disciple Church of Christ with Bishop Chester Aycock, officiating. Burial will follow in the Faison Community Cemetery.
Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of her children, Clarence Faison of Turkey and Tonia Faison of Charlotte; three brothers, Albert Tann and Nathaniel Faison of Faison and Nathan Faison of Maryland; three sisters, Annie Taylor of Virginia, Daisy Odom of Fayetteville and Shelia Faison of Faison and nine grandchildren.
In additon to her father, she has been reunited with her husband, Jasper Carlton and sister, Lonnie P. Carr.

Born in Duplin Co. he is the son of the late James Allen Oliver Sr. and Ethel Carlton Oliver.
Life Celebration Service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Hosea Manley, officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Cemetery.
Cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his wife, Jessie Hunter Oliver; his children, Deidre (Eric) Oliver Johnson, Larry D.(Vitrice) Oliver Jr. Dymiette Oliver and Natasha Oliver; stepchildren, Andre Jones of Greenville and Denise Oliver of New Haven CT; five grandchildren; sister, Linda D.
