Mr. John E. Price
MILTON - Mr. John Elchols Price, 72, of 143 East St., died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at his home.
Born April 14, 1997, in Dry Fork, Va., he was the husband of Mrs. Katie Stewart Price, who survives, and the son of Mr. Weldon Price and Mrs. Marie Price, both deceased. He was a former employee of Milton Shell Service Station.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Miller of Pottstown, Pa.; three sons, Mr. John Price Jr. and Mr. James Price, both of Milton, and Mr. Lee Price of Pottstown; seven brothers, Mr. George Price, Mr. Preston Price, Mr. Butch Price and Mr. Marvin Price, all of Danville, Va., Mr. Robert 'Geech' Price of Yanceyville, Mr. James Price and Mr. Boysaw Price, both of Baltimore; six sisters, Mrs. Carolyn McCaden of Baltimore, Mrs. Eva Anderson of Silver Spring, Md., Mrs. Ruth Tucker, Ms. Clara Price, Ms. May Price and Ms. Rosetta Price, all of Danville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia A.M.E. Church by the Rev. Clyde Long. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Fulton Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Friday evening and at other times at the home.
Mr. Harry J. Williams
GRAHAM - Mr. Harry Joseph Williams, 71, of 2833 N.C. 87 South, Lot 20 died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997, at his home.
A native of Durham County, he was the son of Mr. Charles W. Williams and Mrs. Maude Cannady Williams, both deceased. He was a retired longshoreman in New Orleans. He was Catholic.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Cindy Brewer of Boynton Beach, Fla.; three sons, Mr. Harry Joseph Williams of Fayetteville, Mr. Timothy P. Williams of Deltona, Fla., and Mr. Michael Williams of Bowie, Md.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Lorentsen, O.F.M. Conv., associate pastor and minister to Elon College. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Friday evening.
Mr. Lawrence Coleman
GIBSONVILLE - Mr. Lawrence Barber Coleman, 74, of 909 Ingle St. died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after three months of failing health, four weeks critical.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Polly Marley Coleman, who survives, and the son of Mr. James Edward 'Ed' Coleman and Mrs. Ola Barber Coleman, both deceased. He was a former employee of Cannon Mills and Baptist.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. J.R. (Jean) Majors and Miss Becky Lynn Coleman, both of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Smith of Burlington and Mrs. Thelma Merritt of Franklinton; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mr. Lawrence Barber Coleman Jr. and Mr. Nathan Edward Coleman; and a brother, Mr. James Coleman Jr.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Mark Gammon, pastor of East Burlington Church of God and the Rev. Harold Proffitt of White Dove. Burial will be in Gibsonville City Cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Jean Majors, 4460 N.C. 54 South, Graham.

Mrs. Carey D. Siler
GRAHAM - Mrs. Carey Deloris Siler, 46, of 3401 Wood Chapel Road died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a critical illness of three weeks.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Richard B. Siler, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. William B. Stone and Mrs. Bessie Holmes, who survive. She was a nurse's aide and a member of Ruffin Chapel Church.
Survivors other than her husband of Siler City, father and stepmother, Mrs. Shirley Stone, and mother and stepfather, Mr. Leonard Holmes, all of Graham, include two sons, Mr. James M. Robinson and Mr. Tony Robinson, both of Graham; two daughters, Ms. Carey Lee Robinson of Graham and Ms. Shelsea Siler of Siler City; a brother, Mr. Glenn E. Farrar of Graham; a half sister, Mrs. Annie B. Johnson of Saxapahaw; two stepbrothers, Mr. Reginald Long of Greensboro and Mr. Lawrence Long of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ruffin Chapel Church by the Rev. Charles Pinnix. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Burrus and Burrus Funeral Home from 7 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Nettie Y. Noah
GREENSBORO - Mrs. Nettie Yarborough Noah, 86, formerly of 106 Lehigh St., died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at Wesley Long Nursing Center.
She was the wife of Mr. Charles Walter Noah, who survives. She was a retired licensed practical nurse with Moses H. Cone Memorial Hosptial in Greensboro. She was a member of Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club of the Elk's Lodge No. 602 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors other than her husband of Greensboro include a brother, Mr. John Russell Yarborough of Graham; and two sisters, Ms. Georgia Elizabeth Merritt of Beulaville and Ms. Mary Sue Bishop of Baltimore.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Guilford Memorial Park.
The family will be at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel from 7 to 9 this evening.

Mrs. Marian L. Wilson
SOUTHPORT - Mrs. Marian Lesko Wilson, 82, formerly of Burlington, died at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997, at Ocean Trail Convalescent Center in Southport.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the wife of the late Mr. Reginald S. Wilson and the daughter of Mr. Stanley Lesko and Mrs. Ophelia Bezubik Lesko, both deceased. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. John Wilson of Rosamond, Calif., and Mr. Frank Wilson of La Vergne, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Pine Hill Cemetery by Dr. Charles Williams, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington one hour before the service.
Mrs. Mildred Winstead
NEWTON - Mrs. Mildred Stephens Winstead, 84, formerly of Elon College, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at The Abernathy Center in Newton.

Mrs. Bessie Pruitt
GRAHAM - Mrs. Bessie Overman Pruitt, 96, of 103 Ardmore Drive, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington after 10 years of failing health.
A native of Liberty, she was the wife of the late Mr. Hollis Franklin Pruitt, and the daughter of Mr. John Overman and Mrs. Mary Clapp Overman, both deceased. She was a retired textile employee and was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lavona Hall of the home and Mrs. Juanita Perry of Burlington; four sons, Mr. Richard 'Buddy' Pruitt of Burlington, the Rev. James Pruitt and Mr. Wayne Pruitt, both of Mebane, and the Rev. Johnny Pruitt of Holly Hill, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Hollis Franklin Pruitt Jr.; two daughters, Ms. Patricia Ann Pruitt and Ms. Shelby Jean Pruitt; two brothers, Mr. Ernest Overman and Mr. Newlin Overman; five sisters, Ms. Daisy Bayliff, Ms. Roxie Kizer, Ms. Beulah Dandridge, Ms. Fannie Evans and Ms. Minnie Petty.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. James Pruitt. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 Saturday evening, and at other times at the home of the daughters, Mrs. Juanita Perry, 1009 Sidney Ave., Burlington, and at the home.

SWEPSONVILLE - Mrs. Alta Whitaker Delp, 92, of 2839 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road died at 1:15 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, at Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Ada S. Goodwin
LILLINGTON - Mrs. Ada Smith Goodwin, 93, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997, at Britthaven of Harnett County in Dunn.
She was the wife of the late Mr. George Goodwin.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Virginia Moore of Lillington and Ms. Judy Duquette of Burlington; two sisters, Ms. Laura Thomas of Sanford and Ms. Kate Smith of Broadway; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Ken Dalton.
The family will be at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home in Lillington from 7 to 9 Saturday evening, and at other times at the home of Mr. Raymond Moore and Ms. Virginia Moore.
Mr. James W. Freeland
BURLINGTON - Mr. James William Freeland, 63, of 507 Everette St., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Willard Freeland and Mrs. Fontella T. Nixon, who survive. He was a mason and a member of Morgantown Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, was a member of the senior choir and served as a trustee. He was a former member of the Burlington Community Male Chorus and was a machinist with GKN in Mebane.
Survivors other than his parents include his stepfather, Mr. Remus Nixon Sr. of Burlington; four sons, Mr. Tony La Mar Covington of Burlington, Mr. John Thomas Freeland of Tampa, Fla., Mr. Seawell C. Freeland of Suitland, Md., and Mr. Clennie Everette of Graham; five daughters, Mrs. Denise Covington Glass of Burlington, Mrs. La Gail Freeland Brown of Goldsboro, Ms. Gloria Ann Freeland, Ms. Teressa Michele Freeland and Ms. Jacqueline Freeland, all of Burlington; four brothers, Mr. Waddell Freeland of Savannah, Ga., Mr. Remus Nixon Jr. of New Jersey, Mr. Carlton Nixon of Burlington and Mr. Ronald Nixon of Greensboro; two sisters, Mrs. Cassandra Babbs Corbett of Burlington and Ms. Gina Nixon of Laurel, Md.; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Larry Everette.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Morgantown Baptist Church by the Rev. Steven Clay, the Rev. Bobby Miles and the Rev. Thomas Miles. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will be at 406 Foster St., Burlington.

Mr. Martin Hackbart
MEBANE - Mr. Martin J. Hackbart, 51, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at his home.
Born Sept. 27, 1946, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he was the husband of Mrs. Marie L. Hackbart, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Virginia Hackbart Kubina, who survives, and the late Mr. Martin Hackbart. He was a graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, N.Y., and was an honor graduate and Alpha Chi honor society member at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Fla. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry Airborne Division where he was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster. He owned and operated a hand-crafted mahogany furniture shop until 1991, and was employed with Permatech in Graham as a supervisor in the refractory assembly division. He was a member of Quarry Hills Golf Club.
Survivors other than his wife and mother include two daughters, Ms. Marie Ann Hackbart and Ms. Anita Marie Zachary; and a sister, Ms. Virginia Fischio of Georgetown, Texas.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Haw River by the Rev. John Gibson.
Memorials may be made to the United Way of Alamance County.
The Cremation Society of the Carolinas is in charge of arrangements.
