FRED ERWIN FULBRIGHT, SR.
Fred Erwin Fulbright, Sr, 83, of 812 Siler City-Glendon Road, Siler City died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Lee County Nursing and Rehabilitation, Sanford. Mr. Fulbright was born January 16, 1930 at Lowell, NC, the son of the late George Wesley and the late Edna (Crunkleton) Fulbright. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served on the USS WASP. Fred attended Georgia Tech and was a retired heating and air conditioning representative, having worked for Worthington, Weather King and Liebert. At Weather King, he was the manufacturing representative for the thirteen southern states, and at Liebert, he outfitted computer rooms with flooring, air conditioning and uninterrupted power systems. Mr. Fulbright enjoyed golf, the beach, music, anything western and all sports, especially the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Miller of Helen, GA and his step-mother, Jenelle Fulbright of Elberton, GA. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gay Lane Fulbright; one daughter, Cathy and Don Channell of Gastonia; two sons, Fred and Peggy E. Fulbright, Jr. of Durham, John (Jay) and Cathy Fulbright of Orlando, FL; two sisters, June and Dee Miller of Jefferson, GA, Patsy Fowler of Douglasville, GA; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jimmy and Becky Lane of Siler City; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with military rites was held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, North Chatham Avenue, Siler City with Rev. Tony Capehart and Chaplain Bob Bulls officiating. The family received friends at the family home and following the graveside service. WORTH O. COX
Worth Orlindo Cox, 87, of2937 Parks Crossroads Church Road, Ramseur, went to meet his Heavenly Father Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Siler City Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Parks Crossroads Christian Church, Ramseur, with Rev. Randy Kelley and Rev. James Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Worth was a Randolph County native, retired electrician with Richland Electric, a WW II US Navy veteran, a charter member of the Coleridge Lions Club and a member of Parks Crossroads Christian Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred Ralph and Nannie Pope Cox, sisters, Wincey, Mildred and brother, H. Dean. Surviving is his wife of almost 63 years, Martha Green Cox of the home; daughters, Annette Cox Leslie and husband Paul of Montreal, Canada, Deborah Cox Hall and husband Randy of Birmingham, AL, Candace Cox Stanley and husband Darrell of Ramseur; son, Andrew “Andy” Cox and wife Kristi of Corona, CA; brothers, Nathan Cox, Gregg Cox, both of Ramseur; grandchildren, Rachel Leslie, Rebecca Leslie and Sara Leslie, all of Montreal Canada, Josh Hall and Erin Hall of Birmingham, AL, Chad Williams of Fayetteville, Bill Stanley and Angel Stanley of Ramseur, Alex Cox and Cody Cox of Corona, CA; great grandchildren, Laila Williams and Rhiannon Williams, Benjamin Paul, and Elizabeth Leonard. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, and other times at the residence.

BOBBY R. HASH
Bobby R. Hash passed away on Saturday (04-06-2013) at his home. Mr. Hash was a resident of Chatham County, the son of the late Claude and Ellender Hash. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Hash. Surviving is his wife, Diane B. Hash; son, Brad Hash; brothers, David Hughes, Jimmy Hash; and two grandsons.
THOMAS RAY NALL
Thomas Ray Nall, 78, passed away Monday (06-03-2013) at First Health Hospice & Palliative Care in Pinehurst. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, (06-08-2013) at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Neal Jackson, and Rev. Billy Reynolds officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Born in Moore County, Mr. Nall was the son of the late John N. Nall and Louella McNeill Nall. He was predeceased by his daughter, Debra Kennedy; sisters, Betty Jean Davis, Frances Rush; brothers, Ralph, Roland, and Roger Nall. He was a retired superintendent at Springs Mills, a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, and a member of Elise Lodge #555 in Robbins. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Flossie Sanders Nall; daughters Dianne N. Sheffield, Donna N. Moore, Dorenda N. Kidd, all of Eagle Springs; sister, Mary N. HELEN BOONE NORWOOD
Helen Boone Norwood, 94, of Pittsboro, died at Unihealth PAC-Carolina Point in Durham on Wednesday, (06-05-2013). She was born May 5, 1919 in Chatham County and graduated from Pittsboro High School. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, (06-10-2013) at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Jones presiding. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Norwood was the daughter of the late Fred L. and Ruth Eubanks Boone, and she was preceded in death by her husband, Max; one brother, William “Buck” Boone; sisters, Emily Glenn, Auburn Harris, Ethel Stroud; daughter, Barbara Norwood Clark. A member of Mt. Pleasant U.M.C. in Chatham County, she had been employed by Chatham Mills. Surviving are a sister, Anne Mathes of Tampa, FL; brothers, George Boone of Wichita, KS, Ernest Boone of Graham; daughters, Ruth Meeks of Sanford, Maxine Norwood of Durham; three grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. LOIS THOMPSON HACKNEY
Mrs. Lois Thompson Hackney, 82, of Moncure, died Sunday, (06-09-2013) in her home. The Celebration of Life service were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, (06-12-2013), at Hall – Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro. Interment followed in Bynum Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hackney was the daughter of Charlie Thompson and Lexie Hill Thompson. She was born in Randolph County on February 22, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary Dean Hackney, Michael Owen Hackney; sisters, Bessie Burr, Ruth Dixon; and brothers, Colvin Thompson and Woodrow Thompson. Survivors include daughters, Lois Murray, Becky Hulon, both of Moncure; sons, Thomas Hackney of Blacksburg, VA, Garlon Hackney of Bynum; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
ALICE DOROTHY WINTERS HEJNY
Alice Dorothy Winters Hejny, 87, of Sanford died Sunday, (06-09-2013), at her home. The funeral was held at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, (06-12-2013), at 10 a.m. with Bob Bulls presiding. Mrs. Hejny was born in New Jersey, November 6, 1925, to the late Emil Winters and Georgiana Kufre Winters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Benjamin Payne and brother Robert Winters. She worked as a waitress at the Golden Anchor. Surviving relatives include sons, John Joseph Hejny of Sanford, Robert Alan Hejny of TN; daughter, Georgette Smith of Sanford; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Charles Franklin “Chucky” Partin, 28, of Holly Run in Pittsboro, died unexpectedly at his home, Thursday, (06-06-2013). The Celebration of Life service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, (06-11-2013) at Bynum United Methodist Church, with Pastor Gina Barrow presiding. Interment followed in Mt.Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Partin was born May 13, 1985 in Durham County, the son of Franklin Maurice Partin and Laura Anne Butler Partin. He was an automobile salesman, and had worked for a time as a plumber. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Sidney Partin, and a sister, Elizabeth Rachel Partin. He is survived by his parents, Frank and Laura Partin; brothers, Christopher Keith Partin, Jonathan Mead Partin, both of Pittsboro; grandparents, Charles Hooker Butler, Sylvia Bailey Butler, Runelle Heath Partin, all of Pittsboro.

Mrs. Willie Mae Goodwin of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, (06-08-2013). Rev. Judy J. Smith conducted graveside services Wednesday, (06-12-2013) at 4 p.m. at the Town of Apex Cemetery. She had a long career in banking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Macon Goodwin. She is survived by her children, Marc Goodwin of Moncure, Barbara Williams of New Hill, Kathy Stanley of Charlotte; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Lonnie Ray Bowden, 57, of Siler City died Monday, (06-03-2013 at Duke Home Care & Hospice. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Jordan Grove A.M.E.Zion Church with Rev. Willard Neal, Rev. Ronnie Brooks, and Rev. Toddie Brooks officiating. Burial followed at Rocky River Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member. Mr. Bowden was the son of the late Lonnie Bowden Sr. and Thelma Bowden. He was a native of Chatham County, a graduate of Jordan-Matthews High School and former employee of Boling Chair Company. Survivors include his wife, Diane W. Bowden; step-son, Jonathan Williams; sisters, Loretta B. Andrews of Liberty, Peggy Clark, Mary Lois Brown, Florence Alston, all of Greensboro; brothers, Sherman Bowden, Michael Bowden, all of Greensboro; and two grandchildren.
GEORGE R. “BOB” BROOKS
George R. ”Bob” Brooks, 85, of Siler City went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 9, 2013 at his home. Mr. Brooks was born in Randolph County to Colon Brook sand Sallie Brooks Caviness. Bob served in the Navy in WW II, was retired from Briles Oil Company in Ramseur and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Siler City . Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Smith Brooks of the home; sisters, Emogene B. Phillips of Siler City, Frances C. Spivey of Bear Creek; many nieces, nephews and special companion, Dolly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James”Bill”Brooks, John Brooks, and sisters, Margaret “Tootie” Harris and Ethel Cooper. The visitation was held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 2013 in the Fellowship Baptist Church, with the graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in the church cemetery, with Rev. Jason Golden and Rev. Bob Griffith officiating. MARGARET ALLENE JUSTICE BROOKS
Margaret Allene Justice Brooks, 95, of Wilmington, formerly of Siler City, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Britthaven North Chase, Wilmington. Mrs. Brooks was born in Chatham County on December 9, 1917, the daughter of Pearle and Pearl (Tysor) Justice. She was a kind, loving mother, hard-working, from a family of nine. Allene was a member of Hickory Mountain Baptist Church and enjoyed playing Bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D. C. Brooks, Jr., infant son, Bobby Lee Brooks, four sisters, three brothers, son-in-law, Donnie Kelly, and a grandson, Jeff Kelly. She is survived by one daughter, Faye B. Kelly of Sanford; two sons, Joe E. Brooks and wife, Suzy of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Wayne Brooks of Siler City; one sister, Irma Langkamp and husband Don of Springfield, VA; grandchildren, Richard Brooks of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Heather Brooks of Leland, Lisa Rathy and husband, David of Asheville, Scott Kelly of Sanford, April Bisese and husband, Tony of Asheboro, Crystal Brooks of Asheboro; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend and former daughter-in-law, Gerry Brooks of Leland, NC.
