FRANCISCO RAMIREZ
Francisco Ramirez, 37, of Franklinville, died Sunday (01-18-2009) at his residence.
Mass was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday (01-21-2009) at Iglesia Santa Julia in Siler City, with Father Pedro de Oliveira officiating. Burial will be held in Mexico.
Mr. Ramirez was a native of Colonia.
Survivors include sisters, Maria S. Ramirez, Cristina Ramirez, Rafaela Ramirez, Agustina Ramirez, Engracia Ramirez, Teresa Ramirez, Guadalupe Ramirez, Erica Ramirez, Rosario Ramirez, Rosario Ramirez II; brothers, J. Natividad Ramirez, Jose Socorro Ramirez, Ramon Ramirez, and Anselmo Ramirez.
MR. JESSIE WALKER RODGERS
Mr. Jessie Walker Rodgers, 92, of Pittsboro, died Sunday (01-18-2009).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (01-24-2009) at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rodgers was born in Chatham County, the son of Willie D. and Fannie Degraffendreidt Rodgers. He was employed by Griffin funeral service in Pittsboro for 65 years, still working three days a week, and was an NC licensed funeral director since September, 1958. He was an active member of Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church, and the Chatham County Ushers Association, having served as a church usher since age 9 until his death.
Preceding Mr. Jessie in death were his parents, his wife Mary, and brothers Gaither, Solomon, and Charlie.
Survivors include his son, William Manley of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter, Mary Sue of Chapel Hill; brothers, Arthur and Willie, both of Pittsboro; and five grandchildren.
The wake will be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday evening at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church.

Ruth Ellen Hilliard Stinson of Troy
Born April 27, 1924 in Moore County, North Carolina. Daughter of the late Atlas and Lillie Morrison Hilliard of Asheboro, N.C. and granddaughter of the late Daniel and Lucy Ellen Shields Morrison of Vass, N.C.
Died January 14, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. She was the wife of the late Horace T. Stinson of Siler City, N.C.
She is survived by brothers: James and wife, Marion Hilliard of Greensboro, N.C., Louis and wife, Ec Hilliard of Asheboro, N.C.; sisters: Hazel and husband, Robert Ridge, Pat Luther, Betty and husband, Richard Lyndon, all of Asheboro, N.C; son: Dan and wife, Jean Stinson of Bear Creek, N.C.; daughters: Shirley and husband, Hyatt Grissom of Troy, N.C., Linda and husband, Earl Barker of Troy, N.C., Pat and husband, Bill G. Brewer of Bennett, N.C., Robin and husband, Mike McFarland of Maple Grove, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: Visitation and services will be private.

HOWARD CLINTON McLAURIN, SR.
Howard Clinton McLaurin, Sr., age 91, of 3500 Silk Hope Road, Siler City died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his home. Mr. McLaurin was born January 21, 1917, the son of Albert Hugh and Lucy (Rhyne) McLaurin.
Mr. McLaurin was a native of Anson County and retired owner/operator of Mac's Seafood in Sanford. He was a member of Calvary Faith Baptist Church, a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (Polly) Lemons McLaurin.
He is survived by one daughter, Sheila M. McDowell and husband, Terry of Siler City; three sons, Clinton McLaurin, Jr. and wife, Shelby of Siler City, Manley McLaurin and wife, Betty of Siler City, Jeff McLaurin and wife, Tammy of Siler City; three brothers: Ralph McLaurin of Pittsboro, Neil McLaurin of Pittsboro, Joe McLaurin of Siler City; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
The family received friends Monday, January 19, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral was held Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Faith Baptist Church, 2891 Siler City Snow Camp Road, Siler City with Rev. James Turner officiating. Burial was in Rives Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Siler City.

MILNER ANDREW BREEDLOVE
Milner Andrew Breedlove, 88, of 1186 Edward Hill Church Road, Siler City died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Coventry House of Siler City, Siler City.
Mrs. Breedlove was born May 16, 1920 the daughter of William Worth and Sarah Josie (Willett) Andrew.
Mrs. Breedlove was a native of Chatham County, a member of Edward Hill Friends Meeting and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was retired from Kellwood Company and was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie C. Breedlove and a daughter, Lynda L. Breedlove.
She is survived by one daughter: Jane B. Webster and husband, Clifton of Siler City, NC; granddaughter, Robin Howard and husband, Steven of Siler City, NC; great-grandchildren, Tyler Howard, Brittani Howard and SaraKate Howard of Siler City.
The family received friends Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and at other times at the home of the daughter, 488 Edward Hill Church Road. The funeral was held Friday, January 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Edward Hill Friends Meeting, 92 Ed Leonard Road, Siler City with Rev. Randy Hand and Josh Conrad officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

KIMBERLY ANN MASON
Kimberly Ann Mason, 37, of 1232 Luther Rd. in Apex, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 in a tragic house fire at her home. Kim was a very loving, caring, and giving person, always concerned about the well-being of others. She spent her entire life caring for her parents James and Ellen Mason. Her father preceded her in death in 1997, and her mother preceded her in death January 11, 2009.
A memorial service to celebrate her life and home-going will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24 in the Olive Chapel Baptist Church. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Kim is survived by three sisters: Janet Edwards and her husband Don of Raleigh, Barbara Brewer and her husband Eddie of Staunton, VA, and Mary Jane Johnson of Apex. She also leaves three nephews: Preston Brewer, James and Matthew Johnson to mourn her passing.

EDGAR KENNETH LIGHT
Edgar Kenneth Light, 66, of 2426 Shady Grove Church Road, Staley died Monday, January 19, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Light was born August 24, 1942 the son of Edgar and Clara (Frazier) Light.
Mr. Light departed this world to be with his Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native of Chatham County, a member of Holly's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church and a retired truck driver and business owner. The family wishes to express special thanks to pastor, Mark Ainsworth, friends and all the children during this difficult time.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Abbott) Light; two daughters, Kimberly Locklear and husband, Dallas of Huntersville, NC, Barbara Ann Elliott and husband, David of Martinsville, VA; three sons, Dwain Light and wife, Lora of Sanford, NC, Danny Doolin and wife, Faline of Bear Creek, NC, Tracy Blankenship and wife, Laura of Martinsville, VA; one sister, Frances Oldham of Kentucky; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Friday, January 23, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Holly's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8003 Ferguson Road, Ramseur with Rev. Mark Ainsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

STEVEN LEE FARRELL
Steven Lee Farrell, 59, of Jarratt, VA died Tuesday (01-06-2009).
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday (01-10-2009) at Yale Seventh-day Adventist Church in Yale, VA. Inurnment will be in the Saint George Cemetery in Saint George, SC.
Mr. Farrell was a graduate of the Southern Adventist University and received his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. He was an Academic Instructor at Southampton Correctional Center for 32 years and was assistant principal at Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt, VA from 2004-2008. He was a member of Pittsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, and was preceded in death by his father, Horace Farrell.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs Wheme Allen “Buddy” Farrell; sisters, Kay Farrell of Winter Springs, FL, and Madelyn Farrell Mann of Bynum.

LYNN WOOD
Lynn Wood, 65, of Siler City died Thursday, (01-08-2009) at her residence.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Wood was a native of Kansas City, Kansas and a retired book publishing sales representative for UNC Press.
Survivors include children, Charlie, Luke, and Sara Wood; sister, Mary-Anne Honeycutt; and brother, Pat Deveney.
ALMA FOSTER SEAWELL
Alma Foster Seawell, 76 of Carthage, died Thursday (01-08-2009) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday (01-11-2009) at Cool Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Cashion and Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late William Henry Foster and Ida Belle Smith Foster. She worked for many years in the textile industry and was previously employed by Quality Mills, Carthage Fabrics and Ithaca. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Bradley Seawell.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha S. Brown of Carthge; son, Roger Seawell of Carthage; sisters, Helen Montinger of West End, Mae Dollar of Tramway; brother, Eugene Foster of West End; and one granddaughter.

GEORGIA P. MOORE
Georgia McQueen Palmer Moore, 61, of Moncure died Sunday (01-11-2009) at UNC Hospitals.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (01-14-2009) at Buckhorn United Methodist Church with Rev. Janet Balasko officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was the daughter of Hazel Cross Palmer and the late George McQueen Palmer.
Survivors include husband, William Edward Moore, son, William Brian Moore; daughter Anna Moore Wilder, all of Moncure; mother, Hazel Cross Palmer of Corinth; sisters, Judy Palmer Overby of Sanford, Joan Palmer Frazier of Corinth; and four granddaughters.

DORIS M. HUNN
Mrs. Doris M. Hunn, 90, of Siler City, died Friday (01-09-2009) at home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday (01-18-2009) at Oakley Baptist Church in Siler City.
Mrs. Hunn was born in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Charles Robert Mason and Mabel Cocket Mason. She was a retired executive legal secretary.
Surviving are her daughters, Carol Bogart of Siler City, Linda Friedel of South Daytona, FL; sisters, Phyllis Titus, Jean Mason, both of Rochester, NY; six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
