ELIZABETH “LIBBY” PASCHAL LINDLEY
Elizabeth "Libby" Paschal Lindley, 68, of 2533 White Smith Road, Siler City died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Lindley was born January 14, 1942, the daughter of the late Wade and Mary Lee (Clark) Paschal, Sr. She was a native of Chatham County and had 35 years of service as a teacher assistant at Silk Hope Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William "Billy" Lindley. Libby was a member of Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church, the church choir and was a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn L. Davidson and husband, Andrew of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Laura L. Bloh and husband, Robert of Wilmington; three grandsons, Eric Davidson, John Robert Bloh and Matthew Bloh; two sisters, Nancy P. Price and husband, Bob of Siler City, Matilda P. Carter of Siler City; one brother, Wade Paschal, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Siler City; and mother-in-law, Edith Buckner Lindley of Siler City.
The family received friends Monday, June 7, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home. The funeral was held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 6 p.m. at Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church, 5016 Silk Hope-Gum Spring Road, Pittsboro with Rev. Brian Wellborn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

BEULAH COOPER EUBANKS
Pittsboro – Beulah Cooper Eubanks, age 93 of Bynum, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Lee Eubanks Jr.
Beulah is survived by her son, Roy Eubanks III and his wife Cathy; daughter, Carolyn Eubanks; granddaughter, Angela Fowler; great granddaughter, Lily Fowler; and sister, Rachel Baker.
The family received friends Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Griffin Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Bynum United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Babajtis and Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.

RICHARD LEE COUNCILMAN
Richard Lee Councilman, 59, of Bonlee died Monday, June 7, 2010 at Poplar Springs Rest Home in Star.
Mr. Councilman was born December 30, 1950, the son of Lester William and Vernell Stovall Councilman. He was a Chatham County native, a barber and a member of Bonlee Baptist Church. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Lester William and Vernell Stovall Councilman.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Poplar Springs Nursing Facility for their love and care they gave to Richard. Ricky was loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by one sister, Gilda C. Buckner and husband, Gilbert of Ramseur; nieces and nephews, Shannon Lindley of Badin Lake, Jonna Buckner Denning of Baltimore, MD, Brandy Buckner Kramer of Littleton, CO, Jasimin Buckner Cox of Ramseur, and Copper Buckner Beasley of Raleigh.
The family received friends Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.
The funeral will be Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 3 p.m.at Bonlee Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee.
ROBERT HERMAN POITRAS
Robert Herman Poitras, 65, died Friday, June 4, 2010.
Mr. Poitras was born September 6, 1944, in Englewood, Jew Jersey, son of the late Herman and Isabel Savage Poitras. Bob graduated from Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey in 1963 and from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 1967 where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and the Order of the Gorgon’s Head Lodge. After college, he served in the United States Army. Bob was co-founder of the Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill and Pittsboro.
Bob is survived by his wife, Louise Clark Poitras of Tarboro; sons, Robert Clark Poitras and wife, Taylor Transue Poitras of Chapel Hill, Samuel Wilson Poitras of Tarboro; two beloved granddaughters, Elizabeth Gail and Lucy Anne Poitras of Chapel Hill; and sister, Gail Poitras of Cary.
The family received friends at the home, 713 Lakeview Drive, Tarboro from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2010.
A celebration of Bob’s life was held at Calvary Episcopal Church, Tarboro, at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010. Burial followed in the Calvary Church yard. Friends and family were invited to the home for lunch after the service.
HOWARD JIMMY TALBERT
Howard Jimmy Talbert, age 68 of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Talbert was born on January 28, 1942 in Moore County, to the late Fannie Marie Boyles Talbert and Howard Talbert. “Jim” as many knew him, loved his garden and his yard. He loved to share the wealth of his garden and the beauty of his flower garden that he shared with his wife, children, and friends. He took great pride in growing his “pet” chickens after he retired from farming and being self-employed in the wood shaving delivery business.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Blondell Talbert, four daughters, Bonnie Williams and husband Rick of Leland, Joyce Smith and husband Richard of Siler City, Donna Silva and husband Carlos of Sanford, Amy Burrell and husband Tommy of Sanford; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Lewis and husband Raudey of Pinehurst, Kathy Stuart and husband Tony of Aberdeen; two brothers, Jack Talbert of Siler City, and James Talbert, Jr. of Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 656 Hoffman Road, West End, NC 27376 with Rev. Bucky Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow the service at Beulah Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 7400 Beulah Hill Church Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374.
The family received friends on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home, 425 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Southern Pines, NC 28387.

JESSIE GRIFFIN MILLIGAN
Jessie Griffin Milligan, 74, of 216 North Tenth Avenue, Siler City died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Milligan was born November 29, 1935, the daughter of Hughell Leonard and Ellie Mary (Calloway) Griffin. She was born in Edgecombe County but lived most of her life in Chatham County and retired from Charles Craft. Jessie enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Milligan of the home; son, Harvey L. Brower and Antoinette Till of Staley; daughter, Debbie B. Pugh and husband, Douglas of Pittsboro; son, Stephen L. Brower and wife, Ellen of Staley; daughter, Connie B. Fox and husband, Todd of Liberty; two sisters, Rosalie Lawrence of Tallahassee, FL, Peggy Brower of Easley, SC; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Wayne Branch officiating.

DAVID GEORGE MOTE
David George Mote, 70, of Siler City died Monday (05/17/10) at Laurel’s of Chatham in Pittsboro.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday (06-05-2010) at Loves Creek Baptist Church in Siler City conducted by Rev. Bob Boyd.
Mr. Mote was a native of Bladen County, a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church, a US Army veteran, a NASCAR driver, a long-distance truck driver, and a certified heavy equipment operator. He attended Wilson Technical Community College in Wilson, majoring in heavy equipment. He was preceded in death by his father, David Owen Mote; mother, Isabelle Johnston Corbett; stepfather, Frank R. Corbett; sister, Lillie Belle Dowd; brother, Billy H. Mote; and son, Jimmy Hayes Roberts Mote.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Mote Mashburn of Chapel Hill, Michelle Mote Berry of Broadway; brother, Morris Nelson Mote of Orange, VA; and four grandchildren.

WILLIE DAVID RODGERS, JR.
Mr. Willie David Rodgers, Jr., 95, of Pittsboro died Monday (05-24-2010) at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Funeral services were held 12 noon Saturday (05-29-2010) at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherby Jean Rodgers and son, Millard Rodgers, both of Raleigh.
JOHN RICHARD “JACK” SHANER, SR.
John Richard “Jack” Shaner, Sr, 77, of Pittsboro, died Thursday (05-27-2010).
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, (06-01-2010) at Hanks Chapel Church with the Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.
He was born March 13, 1933 in Berks Co., PA, the son of John H. and Lila K. Shaner. He attended Penn State University, State College, PA. He served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. He completed his education at Albright College in Reading, PA. Jack was a retired Chatham County teacher and coach for 33 years
Survivors include his wife, Dorthy Ingram Shaner; daughters Jeri Cadiz of Chapel Hill, Shelly Joyce of Bonlee, Tracy Farrell of Apex; son, John R. Shaner, Jr., of Pittsboro; and seven grandchildren.

SANDRA “SANDY” KLINE
Sandra "Sandy" Jean Kline, 57, of Siler City died Thursday, (05-27-2010) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, (06-12-2010) at 12 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Siler City.
Mrs. Kline was born October 27, 1952 the daughter of John L and Jean W. (Goode) Kline, Jr. She was born in Panama City, Florida but lived in Siler City. Sandy was employed as Deputy Clerk for the Town of Chapel Hill and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Siler City. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jean Goode Kline, Jr.
Survivors include sons, Nicholas Anthony Cook of the home, John Lindley Cook of Siler City; daughter, Jennifer Kathleen Cook of Siler City; and sister, Debbie K. Biles of Siler City.
A memorial fund will be set up for Nicholas Anthony Cook at the local LGFCU of Siler City; or memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 1101 West Raleigh Street, P O Box 212, Siler City, NC 27344.

MAMIE WELCH CASH
Mamie Welch Cash, 88, died Friday (05-28-2010) at the home of her daughter, Phyllis Howard, in Siler City.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, (05-30-2010) at Lystra Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Susan Rogers and Rev. Virginia Taylor presiding.
A native of Person County, Mrs. Cash born September 2, 1921, a daughter of Larry and Alma Duncan Welch. She was retired from UNC, and was the widow of David Cash
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Waylon and Victor Welch, and sisters, Margaret Welch and Mary Ann Price.
Survivors include a son, Colby David Cash of Apex; daughters, Elizabeth Cash “Betsy” Woods of Shelby, Phyllis Cash Howard of Siler City; sisters, Melba O’Briant, Selba Mangum, Earlleane Hicks all of Roxboro; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren;
