BILLIE WALLACE ANDREWS
Billie Wallace Andrews, 82, of Goldston died Monday, November 21, 2011 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Mrs. Andrews was born September 4, 1929, the daughter of Edward and Allie Gibson Wallace. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and Faith Sunday School Class. She enjoyed her grandchildren and baking cookies and biscuits. Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Reitzel Andrews; a son, Danny Andrews; her parents, sisters and brother, Mildred Moore, Hildred Reeder, Helen Harris and Wesley Wallace.
She is survived by one daughter, Tina A. Hyman and husband, Bobby of Carthage; one son, Randy Andrews and wife, Janice of Badin Lake; two sisters, Doris Long of Colfax, Margaret Bartenfield of Greensboro; one brother, Edward Wallace of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jenifer Andrews, Chase Andrews (Shelley), Megan Andrews Moore (Chance), Derek Andrews, Joseph Hyman and Andie Hyman.
The family received friends Wednesday, November 23, 2011 after the service at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston, and other times at the home of the daughter, Tina, 2385 Glendon-Carthage Road, Carthage. A graveside service was held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mattheue Locklear officiating.

HANNAH KEARNS KIDD
Hannah Kearns Kidd, 89, of Bennett, died Tuesday, (11-08-2011) at Siler City Care and Rehabilitation.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, (11-11-2011) at Bennett Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Strider officiating.
Mrs. Kidd was a native of Randolph County, retired from Klopman Mills, and a member of Bennett Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Kidd, and parents, John and Sally Beck Kearns.
Survivors include daughters, Bunny K. Johnson of Millers Creek, Phyllis K. Welch, of Bennett; sons, Ronald L. Kidd of Ramseur, Randall Kidd of Sanford; brother, John Recil Kearns of Burlington; eight grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren.

ESTELLE BROOKS BOULDIN
Mrs. Estelle Brooks Bouldin, 82, died Tuesday (11-08-2011) at Pittsboro Christian Village.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, (11-11-2011) at Emmaus Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Moore presiding. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Moore County on June 27, 1929, Mrs. Bouldin was a daughter of Lucian J. Brooks and Beulah Rosser Brooks. She worked as manager for Raymond Bouldin Construction Company for a number of years, and later worked at Pittsboro Christian Village. Mrs. Bouldin was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, and sang in the Sandy Creek Association Senior Choir.
Survivors include her son Ray Bouldin of Pittsboro; daughters, Merle Gaines of Pittsboro, Gloria Tolliver of Salisbury, Joyce Frank of Pittsboro; brother James Brooks of Siler City; sister, Laura Kellen of Florida; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond K. Bouldin, Sr. and seven siblings.

LOUISE A. WADE
Louise A. Young Wade, 91, of Pittsboro, passed away Sunday, (11-06-2011) at Twin Rivers in Pittsboro.
Louise was born September 18, 1920 in Tecumseh, NE, the daughter of Harold T. and Janet Helen Barnes Young. She attended Hebron Junior College and graduated from Wayne State Teachers College. She taught science at the high school in McCook, NE and taught electricity to the Signal Corps during World War II. She became Director of Dehydration for the Department of Agriculture at the Western Regional Labs in Albany, CA. Louise became a Girl Scout leader in Evansville, IN and went on to train leaders for scouting and.
Survivors include daughters, Janet Bryan of Columbia, MO, and Betty Hempstead of Littleton; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband Keith Lyle Wade, sister, and one daughter, Barbara Howard of Peoria, IL preceded her in death.
Contributions in memory of Louise may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer society or to the recreation fund at Twin Rivers.
BERNESTINE COTTON MINTER
Mrs. Bernestine Cotton Minter, 63, of Bear Creek, died Monday, (11-07-2011) at Hospice of Randolph County.
Funeral services were held Saturday, (11-12-2011) at 2 p.m. at Knotts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phyllis Carter officiating. Burial followed in the Minter Family Cemetery in Sanford.
She was a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her husband, George Winford Minter of the home; son, George Jeffrey; daughter, Christy Lynna Minter; brother, Michael L. Cotton of Carthage; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
ELIZABETH TAYLOR YOUNG
Elizabeth Taylor Young, 97, of Pittsboro died Thursday, (11-10-2011) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, (11-16-2011) at 11 a.m. at Knotts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. F. L. Rush officiating. Burial followed in Lee Memory Gardens in Sanford.
Mrs. Young was a member of Mitchell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. A former resident of Washington, DC, she was employed with the Navy Yard and Government Printing.
Surviving is one son, Vincent E. Young of Haddon Township, NJ.
EMILY ANNE LEIN
Emily Anne Lein, 19, of Albuquerque, NM died Wednesday (11-09-2011) in Las Cruces, NM.
Services were held Wednesday (11-16-2011) at 11 a.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Cameron and Rev. Trey Hammond officiating. Her cremated remains will be interred with her maternal grandmother, Margaret Dodd Jones at Parklawn Cemetery in Bennington, VT.
Emily was a graduate of Sandia High School and was attending New Mexico State University. She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church and attended La Mesa Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her parents, Sarah E. and Donald H. Lein, Jr.; twin brother, Franklin C. Lein, sister, Kathryn M. Lein, brother, Donald H. Lein III, all of Albuquerque, NM; grandparents, Donald H., Sr. and Marian L. Lein of Pittsboro; Francis “Shep” Jones of Bennington, VT.

CECIL WILTON STACKHOUSE, SR.
Cecil Wilton Stackhouse, Sr. went to be with his Savior November 8, 2011 after years of service and community involvement. Funeral services were held Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Siler City, at 2:30 p.m. The family greeted friends in the Fellowship Hall from 12 p.m. until service time.
“Stack” was born November 23, 1924 to Isaac Preston “IP” and Mary Lane Stackhouse and grew up in Lake View, South Carolina. Young Cecil volunteered in the Navy and served in the Armed Guard during World War II. He attended Wake Forest University after his service.
Stack raised his five sons in Siler City. He served in many capacities for the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Charter Member of the Chatham Wildlife Club, Chatham County Board of Elections, and Chatham and Randolph County Draft Board. He volunteered in community services for the Meals on Wheels, Relay for Life, and many functions at the First Methodist Church. tack recently received his 60-year pin from the Siler City Masonic Lodge. He organized and participated in the Siler City Square Dancers for 25 years. As a member of the business community, he was the manager of the Goodyear - Carolina Tire Store from 1966 until his retirement in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rosie Lee and brother, Preston Bruce “PB” Stackhouse.
Survivors include his life partner and wife of 58 years, Marjorie Lowe Stackhouse; 2 sisters, Mary Alma Briggs, Virginia Jones; five sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Jenni, Butch and Deb, Tommy and Amy, Charles and Robin, David and Terrie; ten grandkids, Amy, Preston, Sean, Isaac, Christian, Lindsay, Becca, Tori, Ashlyn and Hanna; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our Daddy Pop / Dad taught us to fish, how to live and he cheered us as we competed. He demonstrated how to treat a customer and how to find ways to serve others. He loved to do for family, friends and community. He and Mom showed us how true love endures and how two become one, inseparable to the end. He has left us a legacy that we will all carry proudly.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Chatham Hospital for the loving care shown to Dad and the family during his illness. LOIS BROWN WHITE
Lois Brown White, 82, of 2203 Airport Road, Siler City died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation, Siler City.
Mrs. White was born September 10, 1929 the daughter of Ethan and Swannie Hayes Brown.
Mrs. White was a native of Chatham County and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a retired CNA and was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joe Frazier.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy White; daughter, Judy Beal of Bear Creek, daughter and her husband, Linda and William Smith of Siler City; son and his wife, David and Jean Frazier of Bear Creek; two sisters, Pauline Lednum of Asheboro, Edna Sams of Asheboro; one brother, Lester Brown of Salisbury; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
The funeral was held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Bennett with Rev. Mark Strickland officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
GERALDINE DEARDORFF SHUSKEY
Mrs. Geraldine Deardorff Shuskey, 89, of Pittsboro died November 8, 2011 at UNC Hospitals from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash that also took the life of her sister, Hilda D. Baker.
Mrs. Shuskey was born in Waynesboro, PA on November 8, 1922, the daughter of Garnet W. Deardorff and Rella W. Benedict. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Shuskey, her sister Hilda Baker and brother, Eugene Deardorff.
Mrs. Shuskey was employed from 1940-1960 with the National Geographic Society. Following her relocation to NC, she worked for BCBSNC, retiring as a supervisor. She was a member of Browns Chapel United Methodist Church where she was in the Edwin Perry Sunday School Class. Mrs. Shuskey’s giving and fun loving nature was evident in her extensive work with the United Methodist Women on both regional and district levels; her involvement with the youth at Browns Chapel UMC, her many volunteer hours at UNC Hospitals, the Second Bloom shop and Habitat for Humanity; and in her love of card playing, puzzle building and laughter. She and her sister Hilda were the best of friends and the best of competitors!
She is survived by her son, Jerrold Paul Shuskey (wife Roz) of Twin Valley, MN and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. In addition to being a much loved wife, mother, sister and friend, Mrs. Geraldine was a beloved “Gran” and “Ge-Ge” to four special and fortunate young women: Courtney and Leigh Kalbacker and Catherine and Elizabeth Barthoff. She will live forever in their hearts, as well as in the hearts of all who knew her.
The service to celebrate Mrs. Shuskey’s life was held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, November 12, 2011 at Browns Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Gooch presiding. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday night from 6 – 8 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro.
Memorials may be directed to either the Browns Chapel UMC Building Fund or to the American Heart Association.

HARVEY OSCAR BROWER
Harvey Oscar Brower, 83, of Siler City passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Coventry House.
Mr. Brower was very active in the Liberty community, serving as Past Zone Governor of the local area Ruritan Clubs and was co-founder and co-owner of Brower Furniture Company.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, November 15 at 3:30 p.m. at the Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Wayne Branch. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harvey was the son of the late Oscar and Ruth Kidd Brower and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, Herman, Jack, Horace and Vernon Brower.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie Fox (Todd) of Liberty, Debbie Pugh (Doug) of Pittsboro; two sons, Harvey L. Brower (Antionette) of Staley, Stephen Brower (Ellen) of Staley; two sisters, Lucille Young of Liberty, Verline Folwell (Jerry) of Julian; one brother, Harold Brower (Ruth) of Staley; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
