AnnieBelle Baldwin was born to the late Charlie and Bertha Baldwin on September 27, 1912 in Chatham County. She departed this life December 9, 2011 at the age of 99.
She attended Chatham County Schools and joined Terrells Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church at a young age. AnnieBelle, for a while, resided in New York, and worked at Berkshire Nursing Home in Babylon, New York.
She is survived by her son, Larry Franklin Baldwin (Laura) of Florida, three grandsons, Larry F. Baldwin, Jr., Mark A. Baldwin, Christopher F. Baldwin; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of New York; four step-grandchildren, Omar Jean-Louis, Robert Cabello, Anthony Burke, Elizabeth Boston, eight step-great-grandchildren, all of Florida; one sister, Helen Baldwin of Pittsboro; two brothers, Frank Baldwin (Mary) and Clyde Baldwin (Mary) both of Burlington. There is a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Lucille Baldwin, Mrs. Raymond Wilson, Mrs. Fleta Jefferies, Pauline Baldwin and Josie Lee Baldwin; two brothers, James Baldwin and Charlie Baldwin.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Terrell’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Sharon Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 7 – 8 p.m. Friday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro.
Arrangements for Ms. Baldwin are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Home of Pittsboro.
EDGAR ALEXANDER ROBINSON
Edgar Alexander Robinson, 90, of Siler City died Friday, (12-02-2011) at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services were held Monday, (12-05-2011) at 11 a.m. at Siler City Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Steele and Rev. Todd McDonald officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park with military rites.
Mr. Robinson was born August 29, 1921, the son of Lawrence and Ethel (Pigg) Robinson. He was born in Rowan County, an Army veteran of WW II and retired from the maintenance department of Hadley Peoples Manufacturing. He attended the Siler City Chapel where he served as an elder and a Sunday School teacher. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William R. A. Lawrence Robinson and Benny Robinson.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Scott) Robinson; son, Thomas Robinson of Fayetteville; daughter, Sandra Ridge of Asheboro; sisters, Frances R. Howell of Kannapolis, Delores R. Dudley of Denver; brother, Curtis Robinson of Landis; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

ALBERT D. GORDON
Albert D. Gordon, Jr. 87, of Siler City died Friday, (12-02-2011) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, (12-06-2011) at 2 p.m. at Meroney United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Whittaker officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with military rites.
Mr. Gordon was born May 22, 1924, the son of Albert Dalton and Cora Lee (Bailey) Gordon in Litton, MS. He was a career officer in the United States Air Force, serving in Germany, Vietnam and Korea, and was a groundskeeper at Wood Lake Golf Course in Vass. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Gene and Frank Gordon.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma (Craig) Gordon; sisters, Opal Whatley of Florence, MS, Mildred Smith of Cold Water, MS; brother, Raymond Gordon of Cleveland, MS; step-daughters, Diane Brooks of Sanford, Nancy Harris of Siler City; five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
VIRGINIA MAXINE WARRELL RAY
Virginia Maxine Warrell Ray, 83, of Bear Creek died Friday, (12-02-2011) at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel in Canton, MS. Burial followed in Canton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Ray was born in Center, MS, March 23, 1928, the daughter of Duff Austin and Jessie Estell (Boyd) Warrell. She was employed as a L.P.N. in a nursing facility and was of the Baptist faith. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ray, sons, Dalton Edward Johnston, Jr., George Ray and a brother, Whitt Warrell.
She is survived by daughters, Martha Wolf of Bear Creek, Patricia M. English of Raleigh, Louise Chapman of New London, Betty Sue Alford of Philadelphia, MS; and sons, Clarence Ray of DeRidder, LA, Kenny Ray and Jerome Ray, both of Brandon, MS, Raymond Ray of Raleigh, MS; sisters Dorothy Crimm of Meridian, MS; brother, Louis Warrell of Brandon, MS; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
HELEN McMANUS GIBBS
Helen Watkins McManus Gibbs, 93, of Goldston died, Saturday, (12-03-2011) at Peak Resources Pinelake in Carthage.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
Ms. Gibbs was born in Chatham County, February 7, 1918 to the late David Roe McManus and Ada Councilman McManus.
Surviving relatives include a son, Milburn Gibbs of Siler City; daughters, Brenda Turner of Goldston, Carolyn Sego of Bear Creek; six grandchildren and five-great grandchildren.
WANDA LOU TOTTEN
Wanda Lou Totten, died at her home Sunday, (12-04-2011).
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church in Bear Creek. Burial will follow in the T.C. Marsh Cemetery.
A Chatham County native and graduate of Chatham Central High School, she attended Central Carolina Business School and was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked at A.J. Schneierson and Sons, Inc., Cambridge Hills Nursing Home and as a personal care aide for DP Community Services. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Murdock, her father, Roland Alston, and six brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Totten of the home; son, Adrian Lee Murdock of Pittsboro; stepdaughter, Sabrina Person of Siler City; sisters, Barbara McQueen of Pittsboro, Elaine Marsh of Goldston, Brenda Reaves of Siler City; brothers, Frederick Murdock of Greensboro, Cecil Alston of Siler City, Raymond Alston of Goldston; and three grandchildren.
ROBERT “VERNON” KIDD
Robert “ Vernon” Kidd 82, of High Falls, died Monday (12-05-2011) at his home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (12-08-2011) at 11 a.m. at High Falls Friends Church, with Rev. Ben Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
Mr. Kidd was a Moore County, native and a retired truck driver for Denning Paving Company. He attended the High Falls Friends Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Shields Kidd of the home; daughter, Patricia Kidd Goodhue of the home; son, Robert David Kidd of Wilmington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday (12-07-2011) from 6-8 p.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel, and other times, at his home.

THOMAS LYNN “TOMMY” COCKMAN
Thomas Lynn “Tommy” Cockman, 56, of Pittsboro, died at UNC Hospital on Monday, (12-05-2011), after a sudden illness.
The service to celebrate the life of Tommy Cockman will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, (12-08-2011) at Emmaus Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Moore presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Chatham County, on June 12, 1955, Tommy was the only child of James Lowell “Jimmy” Cockman and Sarah Frances Harris Cockman. He was the maintenance director for the Chatham County Schools system and a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kidd Cockman, of the home; sons, Stephen Lynn Cockman and Ryan Thomas Cockman, both of Pittsboro; and his parents, Jimmy and Frances Cockman of Snow Camp.
Friends may visit with the family in the church fellowship hall following the funeral service, and at other times at the residence of Roy and Alice Kidd.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Emmaus Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
CASSIE MAE FRYE ROBINSON
Cassie Mae Frye Robinson, 104, of 2702 Farrell Road, Sanford, formerly of Siler City died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Robinson was born July 8, 1907, the daughter of Muriel and Ellen (Campbell) Frye. She was born on a farm in Moore County, one of twenty-two children. She moved to Chatham County, in the thirties. She was an active member and the oldest member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Jubilee Senior Singers. Cassie had a lifelong love of gardening, growing vegetables and flowers and baking. She mowed her own lawn well into her nineties. Cassie also loved her family and was an inspiration to all of them, sharing her love and faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George Baxter Robinson; son, George Leo Robinson and wife, Ruth Landreth Robinson; daughter, Ruby Martindale and husband, Millard Martindale; daughter-in-law, Rachel Phillips Robinson; sons-in law, Tommy Moody and Van Hutchins; grandson, Bobby Martindale; great-granddaughter, Niki Martindale, her parents and all of her siblings.
She is survived by three daughters, Edna Hutchins of Staley, Barbara R. Moody of Siler City, Jessi R. McDaniel of Siler City; one son, Roger Robinson and wife, Ruby of Moycock; twenty grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren totaling 121 and granddogs, Lola Grace and Brutus.
The family received friends Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral was held Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Rives Chapel Baptist Church, 4338 Rives Chapel Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Tripp Foltz, Rev. Luther Lemon and Rev. Jamie Pierce officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

ANN TRIPP BOULDIN
On December 1, 2011, Ann Tripp Bouldin went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She dedicated her life to the Lord's service as she served along side her husband, Rev. J. R. Bouldin. A constant encourager, she was a faithful wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, sensitive sister and caring friend who lived a lifestyle of missions.
She served the Baptist State Convention of NC as a Specialized Preschool Consultant leading conferences at Ridgecrest, Caswell, various associations and churches. Known affectionately as "Miss Ann" she organized and restructured preschool departments in the churches in which they served (59-1/2 years); therefore, affecting the lives of precious preschoolers in Sunday School, Training Union, VBS and WMU.
Ann was born February 4, 1933, on the Orange-Durham County lines to the late Roy B. and LaRue Cole Tripp. She graduated from Pittsboro High School and attended Wake Forest College. On August 24, 1952, Ann married John Robert Bouldin, who survives. She and Robert (The Preacher, as she so often called him) made their home across the state as he served full-time at nine churches and then, ten interims upon their retirement.
Her love for her Lord and her strong belief in stewardship led her to establish a scholarship at Campbell Divinity School so that young people called into the ministry would have a better financial opportunity to advance their education. This scholarship was established and named in memory of her mother.
"Miss Ann" leaves a heritage as she is survived by daughters, Beverly B. (Wesley) Butler of Oak City, Teresa B. (Jerry) Lindley of Bear Creek; son, John R. Bouldin, Jr. (Tonya) of Rocky Mount; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, K. B. (Minnie) Tripp of Chapel Hill and Auburn (Jean) Tripp of Pittsboro and many nieces and nephews.
Family received friends and family at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011. The funeral service was held at First Baptist Church of Siler City on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2 p.m.. Interment followed at Brush Creek Baptist Cemetery on Airport Road, Bear Creek. The service was officiated by Rev. Tony Capehart and Rev. Gordon West.
