COLLEEN JOHNSON CADE
Colleen Johnson Cade, 87, of Goldston died Sunday, (12-21-2014) at her residence.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, (12-23-2014) at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Cade was born in Chatham County on September 12, 1927, the daughter of Thomas and Etta Dunn Johnson. She had been an inspector at Glendale hosiery.
She is survived by sons, Travis Cade, Hodges Cade, both of Goldston; step-son, Adam Pickett of Gulf; and three grandchildren.
LOUISE EDWARDS PATTON
Louise Edwards Patton, 96, died Monday, (12-22-2014) at Glenaire Retirement Community in Cary.
Services for Mrs. Patton will be private.
Mrs. Patton was born in Siler City on January 3, 1918, resided in Gainesville, FL and Pinehurst prior to moving to Glenaire. She was predeceased by her husband, William M. Patton.
There are no immediate survivors.

CARRIE LEE HARDEE KECK
Carrie Lee Hardee Keck, 83, of Pittsboro died Saturday, (12-20-2014) at the Chatham Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, (12-23-2014) at 11 a.m. at Hanks Chapel Church with Rev. Bob Wachs and Rev. Ray Gooch officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Keck was born May 7, 1931 to the late Trussie Hardee and Annie Parker Hardee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Spencer “Bill” Keck; sons, Willie, Steve, and Bruce Keck; brothers, Tallie, James, and Roy Hardee; and sister, Julia Mae Hamlet. She retired from Chatham Mills and sold Avon for many years.
Survivors include a son, Randy Keck of Virginia Beach; a brother, Roland Hardee of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MARY PATRICIA MURRAY RIVET
Mary Patricia Murray Rivet, 89, of Sanford, died Monday, (12-22-2014) at Westfield Nursing and Rehab. Center.
No services or visitations are planned.
Mrs. Rivet was born in Whitinsville, MA on October 9, 1925 to the late Patrick and Mary Pennell Murray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Thomas Rivet.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 66 years, Henry Edward Rivet of Sanford; a son, James Edward Rivet of Charlotte; a daughter Patricia Rivet O’Quinn of Sanford; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
LARRY WILLARD NEWTON
Larry Willard Newton, 66, of Spring Lake, died Monday, (12-22-2014) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
A memorial service and burial was held Tuesday, (12-30-2014), at 12 noon at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Newton was born in Stafford County, VA, July 18, 1948, to the late Alvin Newton and Beatrice Gallahan Newton. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin and Douglas Newton. He was a twenty-six-year veteran of the US Army. His service included the Vietnam War, 82ND Airborne and multiple tours under the Joint Special Operations Command. He was the sole proprietor of E&L Towing and Recovery.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Burnell Newton of Lynchburg, VA; sons, Jamie Newton of Falls Church, VA, Kevin Newton of Hahira, GA; daughter, Sandra Swain of Lynchburg, VA; brothers, Robert Newton and John Newton, both of Pasadena, MD; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
CLINTON EDGAR SIZEMORE
Clinton Edgar Sizemore, 32, of Siler City, died Tuesday, (12-23-2014) at his residence.
Graveside services were held Sunday, (12-28-2014) at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Bob Wachs officiated.
Mr. Sizemore was born in Stokes County on January 5, 1982, the son of Joseph Clay Sizemore and Harriett Kallam Price. Clinton was employed by Pro-Spray Application Tree Service. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include a daughter, Lindsey Sizemore; sons, Jacob, Peyton, Preston Sizemore; parents, Harriett and Lee Price of Siler City; sisters, Michelle Davis of Broadway, Melissa, Amanda, and Andrea Price of Eden; brother, Samuel Sizemore of Reidsville.
JOHN THOMAS “JAKE” COLE, JR.
John Thomas “Jake” Cole, Jr., 90, of Sanford, died Tuesday, (12-23-2014) at his home.
The funeral was held Saturday, (12-27-2014) at 11 a.m. at Tramway Baptist Church with Dr. John Allen and Travis Corley presiding. Burial followed in Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cole was born in Lee County on October 22, 1924, to the late John Thomas Cole and Bertie Cole. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maggie Womble Cole and a daughter, Linda Ann Cole Johnson. He served in the US Army in the battle of Okinawa during WWII. He retired after 30 years of service with Public Gas Co., now PSNC. Mr. Cole was a past member of the Deep River Fire Department, a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and Tramway Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Shaw Murchison Cole of the home; son, Larry Thomas Cole of Harrisburg; step-son, Eddie Murchison of Sanford; step-daughter, Mary Ann Batchelor of Sanford; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
FLORA MOZELLE WILSON
Mrs. Flora Mozelle Wilson, 76, of Bennett, passed away Wednesday, (12-24-2014), at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Randolph County, the daughter of the late William Taft Wilson, and Vonnie Stokes Wilson. She was a member of Bennett Baptist Church, and retired as a machine operator in textiles. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Reggie Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, William D. Wilson, Jr; daughter, Regina W. Laton of West End; brother, Howard Wilson of Candor; three grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

VICTORIA “VICKIE” LOIS HARRIS HAIRE
Victoria “Vickie” Lois Harris Haire, of Cameron, died Wednesday, (12-24-2014) at her home.
A memorial service was held Monday, (12-29-2014) at 2 p.m. in the Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Shirley officiated.
Mrs. Haire was born in Chatham County on December 23, to the late Jimmy Harris and Tamar Thomas Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Haire, Sr., brothers, Toy Martin Harris, Jimmy Harris, Jr., and William “Bill” Robert Harris.
Surviving is a son, Donald Haire, Jr. of Cameron; step- daughters, Betty Jean Carter of Sanford, Phyllis Bayles of Siler City; sisters, Elizabeth Olive of Apex, Judy Shirley of Autryville; two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchild.

CHARLES HERBERT STANFORD, JR.
Charles Herbert Stanford, Jr., 81, of Julian, died Saturday, (12-27-2014).
Funeral services were held Monday, (12-29-2014) at 11 a.m. at Harvest Baptist Church in Burlington, with Rev. Larry Lamberth and Rev. Allen Filgo officiating. Burial followed at 1:30 p.m. at Chatham Memorial Park.
Dr. Stanford, a native of Randolph County, was born April 8, 1933, the son of Charles Herbert and Bessie Rush Stanford. He served in the US Army, managed numerous textile companies and owned a furniture factory. Later, he earned his doctorates in divinity and psychology, and became an ordained minister. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret Judy Boling Stanford, and his brothers, Joseph and Paul Stanford.
He is survived by daughters, Adrienne Stanford Chafee of Julian, Susan Stanford Jankowski of Garner; brothers, William Stanford of Liberty, James Stanford of Greensboro; sister, Betty Young of Liberty; and five grandchildren.
SAMUEL ERNEST GATLIN
Mr. Samuel Ernest Gatlin, 78, of Seagrove, passed away at his home on Saturday, (12-27-2014).
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, (12-30-2014), at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Bouldin, Rev. Rayford Brown, and Rev. Garland Hall officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with full Masonic Rites.
Mr. Gatlin was the son of the late William Thomas and Rosa Deaton Gatlin. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, and Marietta Masonic Lodge #444 in Ramseur. He was a 32 Degree Mason. A farmer, he had worked at Charles Craft in Siler City, Spring Mills in Biscoe, and Millikan Mills in Robbins. He was also a member of the Randolph Historical Society. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph, Franklin, Lester, and Lonnie Gatlin; and a sister, Pauline Bowman.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Mary Brown Gatlin; son, William B. Gatlin of the home; brother, Charles Gatlin of Bennett; and sister, Nellie Freeman of Asheboro.

SUE RICE SPIVEY
Mrs. Sue Rice Spivey, 69, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.died Tuesday, (12-23-2014) at her home.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, (12-27-2014) at Live Oak United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Mills officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Spivey was born on December 12, 1945 in Cumberland County to J.B. and Geraldine Edge Rice. She is preceded in death by her father and daughter, Kimberly Sue Nesbitt. She worked as Vice President with Bank of America in VA, NC and SC.
She is survived by her husband, Archie D. Spivey of the home; mother, Geraldine Edge Rice of Whiteville; brother, James Burney Rice of VA; and two grandchildren.
DEWEY MICHAEL BREWER
Mr. Dewey Michael Brewer, 41, of Robbins, died Saturday, (12-27-2014).
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, (12-30-2014) at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bill Cooper officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brewer was a Moore County native and the son of Arthur Brewer and the late Janet Wallace Brewer. Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his mother, grandmother, and grandfathers.
Surviving is his wife, Lisa Maness Brewer of the home; son, Dalton Venson Brewer of the home; father and step-mother, Arthur Brewer and wife Christine of Robbins; brother, Franklin David Brewer of Atlanta; sister, Teresa Ream of Holly Springs; and his grandmother, Bonnie Williams of Carthage.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Dalton Venson Brewer Educational Fund at any First Bank location.
