RUDOLPH CLAYTON WILLETT, JR., “TINK”
Mr. Rudolph Clayton Willett, Jr. “Tink”, age 76, of Randolph Street in Bennett, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 10, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, sister, and granddaughter, Courtney Willett.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Bennett Baptist Church in Bennett with the Rev. Tim Strider, and John Phillips officiating.
Mr. Willett, “Tink, ” was a Chatham County native, and a truck driver for over 40 years for Klaussner Furniture. He liked to camp, ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, but most of all loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Tony K. Willett and wife Gina of Bennett; grandson, Clay Willett and his wife Jennifer of Asheboro; great-granddaughter, Addison Willett; mother, Pearl Willett of Bennett; brothers, James (Bub) Willett and wife Vernece of Asheboro, Bill Willett and wife Pat of Bennett; sisters, Emma Hoffman of Lexington, Lanie Estridge and husband Tony of Bennett, Dottie Mendenhall and husband Larry of Siler City; and special friend, Berlene Wright of Asheboro.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Jim’s Kids, 2262 Race Track Road, Sophia, NC 27350.

HOWARD WEAVER, JR.
Howard Weaver, Jr., 72, passed away in his home, Friday, January 09, 2015.
He was born January 12, 1942, in Mahoning County, Ohio, to the late Howard Weaver, Sr. and Mary Louise Turnbull.
Mr. Weaver was a local building contractor and former District Boy Scout Leader of Pack 0970. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Zigler ofOhio.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Ann Weaver of Pittsboro; his sons, Nicholas Weaver, Sr. of Carrboro, and Howard Weaver III of Boone; his daughter, Terry Getzoff of Raleigh; his brother, Frank Weaver of Ohio; along with numerous grandchildren.
A visitation was held from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Browns Chapel UMC, Pittsboro. The funeral service began at 2 p.m. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are being made through Hall-Wynne Griffin Chapel Funeral Home in Pittsboro, NC.
LOIS HARRIS MOORE
Lois Harris Moore died peacefully at her home on Monday, January 12, 2015.
Lois was born in Apex, NC on November 12, 1924. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Fabius and Floyda Seagroves, her husbands, Joseph Prichart Harris and James Sidney Moore, her daughter, Ann Virginia Harris and her granddaughter, Tanya Kay Jennings.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Jo Harris, Mary K Harris and son-in-law, Gerald Blount; her granddaughters, Sarah Davis and Amy St. Louis and husband Scott St. Louis; her grandsons, Joseph Estes and Will Estes, and great-granddaughters, Brenda St. Louis, Lois Geist, Soliani Estes and great-grandson, Ryan St. Louis.
Lois moved to Pittsboro when she married Joe in the early 1940’s and enjoyed a very long and active life. They built the house she has lived in for over 50 years. She and Joe enjoyed riding horses while raising their daughters. Lois worked at the Kayser-Roth hosiery mill in Pittsboro, the Bank of Pittsboro and Social Services before obtaining her accounting degree at night school to become the Town Clerk of Pittsboro for over 20 years. Lois touched many hearts and was a very giving person to all. She loved her friends and family. She was very fond of music, dancing, travel, fishing, and cooking. She was famous for her pound cakes and chicken and dumplings. She was always telling folks to slow down and take time to “smell the roses”. Lois was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and loved going to the conventions. She volunteered at the Pittsboro Historical Museum and loved to meet the people that visited there. She was a member of the Pittsboro Baptist Church and the 3 L’s. She loved going to the Christmas shows at Myrtle Beach and other trips the 3 L’s sponsored. She also loved going to Charlie’s Barn on Friday nights for the music and friendship and to the Sanford Enrichment Center on Saturday night where she sold half-and-half tickets. Lois will be remembered and missed by all the folks who knew her.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, January 14 at 1 p.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church located at 204 West Salisbury Street in Pittsboro. A visitation was held after the service at the Pittsboro Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2 to 4 p.m.

BARRY MARK POINDEXTER
Barry Mark Poindexter, 53, of Holly Ridge, formerly of Sanford, died Friday (12-26-2014).
The funeral service was held Wednesday, (12-31-2014), at 2 p.m. at Rocky Fork Christian Church in Sanford. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
Mr. Poindexter was born December 4, 1961, in Lee County, to Glenn Poindexter and Joyce Griffin Thomas. He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Koch and step-father, George Thomas. He was employed by Performance Fibers.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Glenn Poindexter and wife Linda of Sanford; mother, Joyce Thomas of Sanford; wife, Sherry Ann Goodwin Poindexter of Holly Ridge; step-sons, Rodney Blanks of South Boston, VA, Matthew ”Matt” Blanks of Sanford; brother, Terry Glenn Poindexter of Midland, TX and five step-grandchildren.
WILFRED “CORKEY” GRENFELL CAULK
Mr. Wilfred “Corkey” Grenfell Caulk, 80, Bennett passed away Saturday, 01-03-2014 at his home.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
He was the son of the late Ernest E. and Edna Brown Caulk. He was a retired truck driver for Perdue, and a veteran in the U.S. Army. Mr. Caulk was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Glendon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shirley Owens Caulk.
RUBY CALCUTT WESTER
Mrs. Ruby Calcutt Wester, 86, of Sanford died Tuesday, (12-30-2014) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, (01-03-2015), at 11 a.m. at Olivia Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Walton officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wester was born in Lee County to the late James and Maggie Stone Calcutt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burtice Wester, Sr., son, Billy Ray Wester, and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are sons, James E. Wester, William B. Wester, both of Olivia; daughters, Vonnie Crisco, Debra Wicker, both of Olivia; brother, James “Bill” Calcutt of Merritt Island, FL; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

MARION “BILLIE” MANN McLAUGHLIN
Marion “Billie” Mann McLaughlin, 89, Siler City died Friday, (011-02-2015) at Siler City Center.
A graveside service was held Sunday, (01-04-2015) at 1 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, with Dr. Tripp Harmon officiating.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Alamance County on March 19, 1925, the daughter of William Owen and Viola Coleman Mann. She was a homemaker and had worked for Hadley Peoples Manufacturing for 25 years. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McLaughlin; grandson, James McLaughlin and her parents.
She is survived by daughters, Phyllis M. Craig of Siler City, Jane M. Hallman of Asheboro; son, Lynn McLaughlin, Jr of Laurinburg; brother, John Mann of Charlotte; six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
DORIS REGINA WEATHERS MORTON
Doris Regina Weathers Morton, 58, of Sanford, died Saturday, (01-03-2015), at Central Carolina Hospital.
A funeral service was held at Sanford Free Will Holiness Church on Wednesday, (01-07-2015) at 3 p.m. with Pastor Pearl Castleberry presiding. The family received friends following the service at the church or at1380 Pickett Road, Sanford.
Mrs. Morton was born in Lee County, on November 29, 1956, to the late James Linton and Idella Hall Weathers. She was employed as a seamstress at W Koury Company.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Ronald Paul Morton of Sanford; a son Brandon Scott Morton; a stepson, Joseph Paul Morton. both of Sanford; a daughter, Brandi Renee Sanderson of Sanford; brothers James L Weathers of San Diego, CA, Larry Edward Weathers of Sanford; and one grandchild.
ROBERT WORTH GEORGE
Robert Worth George, 56 of Moncure, died Monday (12-29-2014) at his home.
Funeral services were held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Haywood Independent Bible Church with Rev. David Twigg officiating.
He was born in Wake County, son of the late Worth Daniel George and Frances Jean Broadwell George.
Surviving is his wife, Brenda Goodwin George of the home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 138, Moncure, NC 27559 to assist with funeral expenses.
GILBERT LEE STONE
Gilbert Lee Stone, 91, of Sanford died Saturday, (01-03-2015) at his residence.
The funeral was held Wednesday, (01-07-2015), at 11 a.m. at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Sayles presiding. Burial followed in Lee Memory Gardens with military rites.
Mr. Stone was born in Lee County, on January 5, 1923, to the late Ferd Robert and Jennie Belle Autry Stone. He retired from Sanford Brick and Tile Company after forty years of employment. Mr. Stone served his country in the US Army during WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Virginia Moore Stone; brothers David, James, and Bennie Stone; sisters, Annie Belle Wicker and Betty Harrington.
Surviving relatives include his son, Ronald Lee Stone of Sanford; daughter, Tammy Stone Beal of Sanford; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
MALCOLM LEVERN STONE
Malcolm Levern Stone, 75, of Sanford died Sunday, (01-04-2015) at his residence.
The funeral will be held Friday, (01-09-2015) at 2 p.m. at Grace Chapel with Rev. Joel Murr and Rev. Bob Yandle presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Stone was born in Lee County, on January 30, 1939, to the late James David and Lula Parrish Stone. He worked as a computer consultant for several years at UNC. He was a member at Grace Chapel Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Linda Springs Stone; son, Michael Stone of Sanford; daughters, DeAnna Wahlers of Apex, Kim Moes of Willow Springs; brothers, Robert Stone, Terry Stone, and Nick Stone, all of Sanford, Jack Stone of Supply; a sister, Priscilla Parrish of Sanford; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, (01-08-2015), from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
