'Greg' Griggs
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Gary Cooper "Greg" Griggs, 47, of 338 Bridges Circle, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at University Hospital in Charlotte.
The family will be at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Francis and Joe Haynes at 1002 Hemlock Drive, Shelby.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Genesis Funeral Service and Chapel, Shelby.
Beatrice Lee
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Beatrice Campbell Lee, 82, of 1410 W. Stagecoach Trail, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she born Jan. 19, 1920, the daughter of the late John Coeron and Julia Belle Grayson Campbell. She was in the food service industry and retired from the Burns High School lunchroom. She was also a former co-owner and operator of Lee Dairy. She was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, a member of the United Methodist Women, Sunset Sunday School Class and Silver Palms Senior Group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert E. Lee; a daughter, Diane Huskey, a daughter-in-law, Marcelle Lee; a great-grandson, Kyle Willis; three brothers, Rush Campbell, John Campbell and Charles Campbell; and two sisters, Ruth E. Campbell and Frances Dedmon .
She is survived by her son, Don Lee of Lawndale; a son-in-law and his wife, Johnny and Rhonda Huskey of Lawndale; two sisters, Bessie Robinson of Slater, S.C., and Margaret C. Hubbard of Lawndale; three grandchildren, Neal Huskey, Derrick Lee and his wife, Lori, and Donna Willis; and three great-grandchildren, Donald Lee, Kristy Willis and Darrell Willis.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Palm Tree United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike Harrill and Jack Lutz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 7 at the Stamey Funeral Home.

'Boge' Workman
VALE - Mr. J.E. "Boge" Workman, 82, of 2486 Peeler Road, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Lincoln Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was born March 24, 1919, the son of the late John Edgar and Zula Ingle Workman. He was a retired forklift operator at Broyhill Industries of Conover and a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Short Workman.
He is survived by five sons, Loyd Workman, Guy Workman, Billy Workman and David Workman, all of Vale, and Ronnie Workman of Lincolnton; seven daughters, Muriel Hull, Geneva Towery and Janice Houser, all of Vale, Dorothy Bright and Kathy Martin, both of Swansboro, and Joan Chapman and Darnell Carswell, both of Morganton; two sisters, Laura Willis and Ann Wright, both of Vale; a sister-in-law, Ethel Workman of Vale; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Mulls Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Thomas Berry and Richard Adams officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelby with Father Eric Houseknecht officiating. Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery, Cherryville. A rosary will be recited tonight at 7 in the chapel of Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

Maggie Runyan
CLOVER, S.C. - Mrs. Maggie Elizabeth Carrol Runyan, 94, of 243 Clintwood Drive died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Gordon Mortuary, Blacksburg, S.C., with Helen Alexander and Sherry Drews officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Family members received friends Saturday at the mortuary and at other times will be at their homes.
Vera Kiser
CHERRYVILLE - Mrs. Vera Inez Stroupe Kiser, 92, of 1070 Sellerstown Road, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Brian's Center in Lincoln-ton.
A native of Gaston County, she was born Sept. 4, 1909, the daughter of the late Bert and Sudie Wacaster Stroupe. She graduated in 1929 from Piedmont High School in Lawndale and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville. On April 29, 1927, she married the Rev. Amos M. Kiser Sr. and was a member of organizations and participated in activities at each of the churches he pastored.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Amos M. Kiser Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Yarboro Kiser; and a daughter, Mary Kiser Morin.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Kiser Hinson of Rock Hill, S.C.; a sister, Clara Stroupe of Cherryville; six grandsons and their spouses, Ted Kiser, Dick and Jill Kiser of Mocksville, Eric Morin of Uzbekistan, Allen and Sarah Hinson of Anderson, S.C., and Michael Hinson and Devin Hinson, both of Pendleton, S.C.; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Phil Deitz and Robert Redding officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center of the church.

CHERRYVILLE - Mrs. Martha Elain Willis Upton, 42, of 207 S. Dixie St., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

FOREST CITY - Mr. Norman Ronald "Ron" Greene, 58, of 375 Arlington St., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Rutherford Hospital.

Burial will be in the Cool Springs Cemetery.

Gleen White
PATTERSON SPRINGS - Mr. Gleen White, 73, of 2213 Cleveland Ave., Grover, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Garland Lee and Edna Lowis McSwain White. He was a member of the Christian Worship Center in Ellenboro and retired from Bost Bakery after 39 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Melrose Easler White of Patterson Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Bruce and Wanda White of Kings Mountain and Ronnie Jack White of Patterson Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn White and Michael Weaver of Patterson Springs; three brothers, Ed White, Charlie White and Vick White, all of Patterson Springs; two sisters, Sarah Long and Myrtie Putnam. both of Patterson Springs; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Christy White and Steven Braswell, April and Steven Anderson, Sha Van Dyke, Chris Patrick, Brittany LaRose White, Daniel Weaver and Kenny Gleen Weaver; and seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey Braswell, Amber Rose Braswell, Katelyn Braswell, Kale Braswell, Avel Anderson, Reanna Anderson and Chelsey Anderson.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Christian Worship Center in Ellenboro with the Revs. John Devine III and Roland Pendley officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 7 to 9 at Harris Funeral Home and other times at the home.
