MOZELLE BROWER STOUT
Mozelle Brower Stout, 100, of Mooresville, died Thursday, (04-10-2014).

Funeral services were held Sunday, (04-13-2014) at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Asheboro with Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial followed at Parks Cross Roads Christian Church, Ramseur.

Mrs. Stout was born October 22, 1913, the daughter of George Washington Brower and Emma York Brower. A native of Randolph County, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Asheboro and the Randolph County chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade T. Stout.

Survivors include a son, Timothy W. Stout of Mooresville; brothers, Bill Brower of Ramseur, Jim Brower of Siler City; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.

GEORGE CONNER LANGLEY
George Conner Langley, 74, of Liberty died Wednesday, (04-09-2014) at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service was held Sunday, (04-13-2014) at 3 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Siler City with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.

Mr. Langley was born in Randolph County on April 26, 1939, the son of Floyd Lee and Carrie (Connor) Langley. He had worked for Stout Furniture.
He is survived by one son, George Lee Langley of Siler City; daughters, Alice Sue Cope of Ramseur, Carol Ann Langley of Greensboro, Kathy Lou Aguilar of Liberty; sister, Bertha Faye Whitt of Cedar Falls; and seven grandchildren.

ELDRIDGE PRESTON “E P” McLEOD
Eldridge Preston “E P” McLeod, 76, of Goldston died Wednesday, (04-09-2014) at his home.

The funeral was held Saturday, (04-12-2014) at 11 a.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Larry Martin. Burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Mr. McLeod was born in Harnett County, on April 13, 1937, to the late W E McLeod and Minnie Moore McLeod. He was also preceded in death by his wife Irma Lee McCoy McLeod. Mr. McLeod was a retired self-employed roofer.

Surviving relatives include sons, Donnie McLeod of Goldston, Junior McLeod and Bobby McLeod, both of Sanford, Jack McLeod of Cameron, Chuck McLeod of Broadway; and a daughter, Fay Munoz of Sanford; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

WILLIAM JACK “BILL” EIDSON
Mr. William Jack “Bill” Eidson 76, formerly of Bennett, passed away Tuesday, (04-07-2014) at the home of his son in Liberty.

Graveside services were held Thursday, (04-10-2014) at 2 p.m. at Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins.
Mr. Eidson was born in Iredell County, was a truck driver most of his life, and a member of Love Valley Presbyterian Church. He was the son of the late Robert and Mamie Horton Eidson, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia C. Eidson.

Survivors include his son, William “Jeff” Eidson of Liberty; daughter, Julie Whitehill of Robbins; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

PATRICIA GRACE BAKER-WOOTEN
Patricia Grace Baker-Wooten, 36, of Broadway, died Wednesday, (04-09-2014), at her home.

The funeral was held Tuesday, (04-15-2014) at 3 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Parson presiding. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker-Wooten was born in Lee County on May 1, 1977. She worked as a certified medical assistant.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Christopher Wooten of the home; daughters, Britani Jones, Breanna Jones, Carla Baker, all of Broadway; her parents, James Felton Baker, Jr. of Sanford and her mother, Velma Grace Bullard Castro and step-father David Castro of Tramway; brother, James Baker of TX; a step-son, Corey Wooten of Greensboro; step-daughter, Courtney Clack of Sanford; step-brother, David Castro of FL; step-sister, Deanna Castro of Guam; and three step- grandchildren.

LINCOLN LEE
Mr. Lincoln Lee, formerly of Moncure, passed away in Washington, DC.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, (04-17-2014) at Bryant Cemetery in Moncure.

DOROTHY MARIE HOWARD
Dorothy Marie Howard, age 68, of Sanford died Monday, (04-14-2014) at her home.

Mrs. Howard was born December 10, 1945 in Taylorsville, to the late Thomas Howard Icmiley Sisk Howard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dockery Randall Hinesley.

Surviving relatives include a brother, Jerry Howard of Rock Hill; daughters, Laneen Locklear, Angie Jessup, Sherry Jessup, all of Vass, Pam Rogers of Pleasant Garden; sons, Brian Hinesley of Sanford, Richard Hinesley of Vass; eight grandchildren, and five great-grand children.

The family will hold a private service and receive friends at respective houses.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Homecare and Hospice, 1836 Doctors Drive, Sanford, NC 27330.

MURPHY EUGENE “Bud” HOLDER
Bud Holder, 88, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hospice of Wake County, Raleigh.

A native of Harnett County, Bud was born April 3, 1926 to the late Atlas Eugene Holder and Whittie Suggs Holder. He graduated from Bells High School in 1944 and attended Louisburg College and Duke University. He was a member of Ebenezer UMC and Pittsboro UMC.

Bud met Nellie McCormick while managing the old Chatham Movie Theater in Pittsboro. married in 1954, their love spanned 56 years before her passing on April 13, 2010.

In the early days, Bud was a farmer who also built and owned Seaforth Lake, which is now part of Jordan Lake. Later in life, he became a successful realtor. He was an avid pilot and used his single engine Cessna airplane a great deal with his real estate business. Bud loved fishing in Ocracoke, NC and Port St. Lucie, FL, where he and Nellie had vacation homes. Two of his recent highlights were being able to fly to Florida to visit his sister and visit RDU airport to watch planes come and go. Bud loved to laugh and always had a good joke to tell. In addition to his wife and parents, Bud is preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Holder and his sister, Dorothy “Dot” Toothman.

He is survived by his son, Gene Holder of Archdale, NC; his two daughters, Gaynelle Knight (Vance) of Raleigh, NC and Sharon Shehdan (Lin) of Raleigh; his two grandchildren, Ian Holder ofSeward, AK, Meredith Shehdan of Raleigh; and his brother-in-law, Hank Toothman of Jupiter, FL.

A graveside service for Mr. Holder was held at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Hanks Chapel UCC cemetery. A light reception and family visitation followed at Hall-Wynne funeral service, 396 West St., Pittsboro, NC, after the service.

In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible donations may be sent to the Harold Boone Memorial Scouting Fund, Inc. in care of Thomas J. George, 147 Acorn Lane, Pittsboro, NC 27312in support of local Scout Troop 93.

Arrangements are under the care of Hall-Wynne funeral service and Cremation, Pittsboro, NC.

BONNIE LEE JACKSON
Bonnie Lee Jackson, 82 of Cameron died Wednesday, (04-02-2014), at his home.

The funeral was held at Calvary Missionary Methodist Church on Friday, (04-04-2014, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Norris and Pastor Jonathan Newton officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Jackson was born in Lee County, on May 8, 1931, to the late Barney Earl Jackson and Annie Jane Holder. He worked as a finish carpenter, and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Lee Jackson; sisters, Margaret Osterhout, Earleen Black; and a brother, John Jackson.

Surviving relatives include daughters, Patricia Ann Shorb of Broadway, Alicia Louise Brewer of Cameron; son, John Allen Jackson of Cameron; nine grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

EVA MAE WHITAKER YARBOROUGH
Eva Mae Whitaker Yarborough, 86 of Sanford died Wednesday, (04-02-2014), at Rex Health Care in Raleigh.

The funeral was held at Edgewood Presbyterian Church on Friday, (04-04-2014), at 2 p.m. with Dr. William C. Hayes, Rev. David Yarborough and Rev. Terry Pleasant officiating. Burial followed in the Buffalo Cemetery.

Mrs. Yarborough was born in Lee County on May 26, 1927, to the late C. C. Whitaker and Minnie Cook Whitaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. V. Yarborough; a sister, Mabel Elliott; brothers, Sam Whitaker, Arthur Whitaker and a great grandchild, Hayden Spivey. Mrs. Yarborough was a member at Edgewood Presbyterian Church.

Surviving relatives include sons, Ronnie V. Yarborough, Ricky L. Yarborough, and a daughter, Susan Y. Stone, all of Sanford; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

STEPHEN LAWRENCE BOWLING
Stephen Lawrence Bowling, 52, of Sanford died Wednesday, (02-02-2014), at his home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, (04-05-2014), at 12 noon, at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Cal Sayles and Rev. Gilbert McDowell.

Mr. Bowling was born in Lee County, on October 3, 1961, to the late Edward Samuel Bowling and Fannabelle Habinck Bowling.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Tara Jacqueline Bowling of Sanford; sons, Stephen Ronald Bowling of Sanford, Chase Kenneth Bowling of the home; wife, Beverly Bowling of Sanford; sister, Ramona Bowling of Sanford; brothers, Edward Bowling, Jr, Terrence Lee Bowling and Gregory Wayne Bowling of the home.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to Hubert and Edna Thomas Mission Fund, Jonesboro Heights. Baptist Church, 316 West Main Street, Sanford, NC 27332.

CYNTHIA WHITE BUCHANAN
Cynthia White Buchanan, 74, of Sanford, died Sunday, (04-06-2014) at Central Carolina Hospital.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, (04-10-2014), at 3 p.m. at Jonesboro Cemetery with Rev. Gilbert McDowell presiding.

Mrs. Buchanan was born in Lee County, on November 6, 1939, to Lillian Bullock White and the late Jessie White. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Joseph White. Mrs. Buchanan was retired co-owner of Jonesboro Dry Cleaners and a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Richard Scott Buchanan, Sr; sons, Richard Scott Buchanan, Jr., Jeffrey Joseph Buchanan, both of Sanford; daughter, Cynthia Buchanan Cole of Sanford; three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
