LINDA JO BUCKNER GOINS
Linda Jo Buckner Goins, 67, of Ingle Street, Siler City died Monday, April 28, 2014 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Goins was born in Randolph County March 4, 1947, the daughter of Marie (Johnson) Thomas. She was a member of Hickory Mountain Baptist Church and had worked as an LPN at Sun Bridge Health and Rehabilitation. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Thomas; foster parents, Charlie and Ollie Buckner; brothers, Ronald Lee, Ricky and Randy Thomas.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James M. Goins; step-son, Eric Husketh of Hillsborough; brothers, Barry, Scott and Steve Thomas of Broadway; and step-grandson, Ayden Haley.
The family received friends Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Val Chadwick and Rev. Rodney Hellard officiating.
LEONA McINTYRE STONE
Leona McIntyre Stone, 86, of Staley, died Wednesday, (04-16-2014) at her residence.
The funeral was held Friday at 11 a.m. at Moon’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Faw officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
Mrs. Stone was born in Cumberland County on May 11, 1927, the daughter of Haywood S. and Sallie (Smith) McIntyre. She was a member of Moon’s Chapel Baptist Church and had worked as a waitress at Teague’s Café. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Stone; her parents; granddaughter, Westa Boling; sister, Doris McIntyre and brother, Samuel McIntyre.
Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Boling Wilson of Staley; son, Dwight Julian Boling of Burlington; sisters, Peggy McIntyre, Mary Lou Jackson, Judy McIntyre; brother, Frankie McIntyre, all of Fayetteville; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

CAROL SUSAN ATKINS DICKENS
Carol Susan Atkins Dickens, 65, of Sanford died Sunday, (04-20-2014).
No services are scheduled.
Mrs. Dickens was born in Moore County on June 20, 1948. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Atkins.
Surviving relatives include her mother, Pauline McDonald Atkins of Sanford; and a sister Judy Vila of Cameron.
MRS. CARRIE LOUISE MOORE MANESS
Mrs. Carrie Louise Moore Maness 87, of Seagrove, died Sunday, (04-20-2014) at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, (04-23-2014) at 2 p.m. at New Center Christian Church with Rev. Jonathan B. Burris and Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Maness was a Moore County native and a sewer in the textiles industry. Louise retired from Mid-State Plastics. She was a member of New Center Christian Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, and a Girl Scout leader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rancie L. and Nora Scott Moore, brothers, Howard Moore, Paul O’Neil Moore and a grandson, Shannon Garner.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Beauford Odell Maness of the home; daughters, Lola E. Maness, Teresa C. Maness, Devonna Atkins, all of Seagrove; son Bruce L. Maness of Seagrove; brothers, Rancie Lee Moore Jr. of Asheboro, Roy Moore, Marvin Moore, both of Robbins, Dee Moore of Seagrove; sisters, Valleen Maness, Betty Garner, Wilma Davis, all of Seagrove; step-brother, Douglas Williams of Robbins. Four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

BEAU PATRICK HARVEY
Mr. Beau Patrick Harvey, 43, passed away Friday, (04-18-2014) at his home in Pittsboro.
He was born in Orleans Parish, LA, to Thomas Harvey, III, and Irene Daigle. He was a Biomedical Technician with Carolina Dialysis of Carbarro.
In addition to his parents, Beau is survived by his wife, Lisa Bocklud Harvey; sons, Adam and Beau; brothers, Brett Harvey, Tommy Harvey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bart Harvey.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, (04-26-2014) at Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, LA.
RHEUMEL THRAILKILL MARKHAM
Rheumel Thrailkill Markham, passed away on Tuesday, (04-15-2014).
A graveside service was held at Pittsboro United Methodist Church on Friday, (04-18-2014)
Rheumel, born July 1, 1920, was the daughter of L. Frank and Berta Horton Thrailkill. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Commie (Billy) Markham, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Joette Markham McDaniel, and her son, Jeff Markham.

JERRY WILSON MILLER
Jerry Wilson Miller, 62 of Sanford died Tuesday, (04-15-2014), at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A graveside service was held Friday, (04-18-2014) at Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, at 1 p.m. with Dr. Gary McCollough presiding.
Mr. Miller was born May 16, 1951 in Lee County, to the late Johnnie Willie Miller and Callie Benton Miller. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wiley Bruce Miller.
Surviving relatives include a daughter Lisa Marie Crabtree of Sanford; brothers, Stephen Miller, Mike Miller, both of Sanford; sisters, Billie Hunter of Sanford, Norma Miller of Moncure; and two grandchildren.
ADAM WILSON HOLDER
Adam Wilson Holder, 39, of Sanford, died Sunday, (04-06-2014) in Winston-Salem.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, (04-24-2014) at 2 p.m. at Buffalo Cemetery with Rev. Donald Kivett presiding.
He was born in Lee County, on August 30, 1974 to Stella Louise Holder and the late Wilson Thelbert Holder of Sanford.
He is survived by his mother, Stella Louise Holder; son, Dillon Adam Holder, both of Sanford; brothers, Michael Darren Barnes of Sanford; Grant Barrett Holder of Liberty; and sister, Rania Doreen Holder of Sanford.
The family received friends Wednesday, (04-23-2014) at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m..
MAMIE LOIS DUNN PARKER
Mamie Lois Dunn Parker, 86, of Moncure, died Sunday (04-20-2014) at Cambridge Hills in Pittsboro.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, (04-23-2014) at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with Rev. Garland Smith and Rev. Bobby Shutt officiating. Burial followed in the Broadway Town Cemetery
Mrs. Parker was born July 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence Monroe Dunn and Vida Mae Barbour Dunn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Randal Parker, Sr.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley P. Hartogensis of Bethesda, MD, Sylvia Fowler of Pittsboro, Betty Sue Mason of Ocilla, GA, Dorothy Holmes of Dunn, Cathy P. Patterson of Raeford, Patti Lou Parker of Sanford; sons, James Randal Parker, Jr. of Dunn, William Robert Parker of Randleman; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
TERRY LANE PARKS
Terry Lane Parks, 70, of West Third Street, Siler City died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Parks was born in Chatham County on August 18, 1943, the son of Clarence Edward and Nancy (Sturdivant) Parks. He was a member of Moon’s Chapel Baptist Church and the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. Terry had been employed by Golding Transport and was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary (Robinson) Parks; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Green and husband Eddie of Mebane, Christie Michelle Klink and husband John of Hot Springs, VA; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Edward Parks of Siler City; grandchildren, Chelsea Wicker, Austin Wicker, Grayson Green, Garrett Klink and Carson Klink.
The family received friends Friday, April 18, 2014 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Moon’s Chapel Baptist Church.
The funeral followed Friday at 3 p.m. at Moon’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Faw and Rev. John Klink officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

LESTER ALLEN GAINES, SR.
Mr. Lester Allen Gaines, Sr., 78, of Angier went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, April 18, 2014.
A 3 p.m. graveside service was held on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bear Creek, with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iley and Ollie Gaines, son, Timmy Craig Gaines, and a brother, Ray Phillips.
Mr. Gaines was a Chatham County native, and a self-employed carpenter. He loved to fish with his grandchildren, and watch old westerns on TV. He also enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel Music, especially the old hymns and bluegrass music. Most of all, Mr. Gaines loved the Lord, reading his Bible, and his family. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye Godwin Gaines of the home; daughters, Diane G. Ingram and husband Mike of Asheboro, Denise G. Young and husband Mitch of Willow Springs; son, Buster Gaines and wife Kay of Bear Creek; sister; Louise Gilchrist and husband Charlie of Bear Creek; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Community Home Care and Hospice at 400 East H. Street, Erwin, NC 28339.
Arrangements are by Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett.

WANDA JONES BRAY
Wanda Jones Bray, 62, of Bear Creek died Saturday, (04-12-2014) at Duke University Medical Center, Durham.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (04-15-2014) at Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Walker and Rev. Mark Richardson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bray was born December 12, 1951, the daughter of Samuel “Reid” and Elsie Brafford Jones. She was a native of Chatham County, and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Wanda was a Family Nurse Practitioner, she taught nursing at Sandhills Community College, Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro and Winston Salem State University. She worked with Chatham Medical Specialist in Siler City, Park View In Home Care in Sanford, The Family Doc in Sanford, Minute Clinic and with Onsite Care of Rocky Mount. She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband, Craig Bray of the home; daughter, Ashleigh Lemons of Bear Creek; mother, Elsie Brafford Jones of Siler City; brother, Sam Jones of Asheboro; and one granddaughter.
