Lillian Shepherd Bare
Lillian Rebecca Shepherd Bare, 79, 803 Hidden Creek Circle, died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at Genesis ElderCare of Salisbury after 10 months of declining health.
Born Aug. 27, 1920, in Ashe County, Mrs. Bare was a daughter of the late John Robert and Carolina Long Shepherd.
Educated in the Ashe County schools, she was a homemaker. She was also associated with Bare Furniture and Ann Rowland Furniture.
Survivors include husband Winfred Bare, whom she married Oct. 8, 1938; son Bill Bare, China Grove; daughter Rebecca Eagle, Clemmons; sister Mayme Crisler, Charlotte; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Summersett Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ted Burke, Mooresville Church of God. Entombment at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home on Hidden Creek Circle.
Vivian Mae Bradshaw
MOUNT ULLA — Vivian Mae Bradshaw, 95, 545 Bradshaw Road, died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at Genesis ElderCare, Salisbury.
Born March 24, 1904, in Rowan County, Miss Bradshaw was a daughter of the late Newton Flynn and Ada Eugenia Menius Bradshaw. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she had retired from Cannon Mills.
Survivors include sisters Tillie Goodman Honeycutt and Josephine Bradshaw, both of Mount Ulla, Sophie Deal, China Grove, and Lorene Nance, Charlotte.
Services: Graveside, 11 a.m. Friday, West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, conducted by the Rev. Bill Bradshaw.
Visitation: 10-10: 45 a.m. Friday, Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. At other times the family will be at the home on Bradshaw Road.
Rev. William B. Carr
William B. Carr, 77, 168 Folk St., Pomaria, S.C., a former area resident, died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center, Columbia, S.C.
Born in Wadley, Ga., he was a son of the late William J. and Belle McGowan Carr. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he received a Purple Heart for his service during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, S.C.
A retired minister, he had served the following Lutheran churches: Reformation, Savannah, Ga.; Bethel Parish, Springfield, Ga.; Grace, Thomasville; Philadelphia, Dallas, N.C.; Prince of Peace, Salisbury; Shepherd of the Sea, Atlantic Beach; and St.Luke, Conover. He also spent five years as stated supply for St. Andrews, Blythewood, S.C., for five years.
He was a member of Pomaria Lutheran Church, Pomaria, S.C., and the North Carolina Synod of ELCA. He was a former member of the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife the Rev. Betty Hill Carr; son Jeffery Daniel Carr, Davidson; and a grandson.
Services: 4: 30 today, Pomaria Lutheran Church, Pomaria, S.C., conducted by the Rev. Mel Amundson and the Rev. Kathleen B. Cartier, assistants to the bishop of the South Carolina Synod. The body will be placed in the church at 3: 30. Burial, Pomaria Cemetery.

William Reid Davis
MOCKSVILLE — William Reid Davis, 65, U.S. 601 South, died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem, after a brief illness.
Born April 13, 1934, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Fred Reid and Ida Ballinger Davis. He had retired after 35 years with R.J. Reynolds TobaccoCo.’s maintenance department in Winston-Salem. A 32nd-degree Mason, he was a member of the Advance Masonic Lodge and Fork Baptist Church.
His first wife, Ruth Myers Davis, died in 1979.
Survivors include wife Helen Bailey Davis; son Bernie Davis, Advance; daughter Kristi Manel, Pilot Mountain; stepson Don Bailey, Advance; sister Clerissia Moran, Winston-Salem; and a grandchild.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Marshall Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Rusty Morrison. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Eaton Funeral Home.

Kenneth Ray Enlow
Kenneth Ray Enlow, 54, 170 Young Farm Road, died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999)at his home.
Born Oct. 5, 1944, in Caldwell County, Mr. Enlow was a son of Lula Mae Evans Enloe, Hiddenite, and the late Robert Lee Enloe. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was disabled in the Vietname War.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include son Matthew Enlow, East Spencer; brothers George Enloe, Sutherlin, Ore., and Rubel Enloe, Newton; and sisters Frances Petrea, Taylorsville, Ruth Isreal, Stony Point, and Jeanette Dyson, Statesville.

Douglas Ray Graham
ROCKWELL - The funeral will be Friday for Douglas Ray Graham, 42, N.C. 152 East, who died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, after a period of declining health.
Born March 1, 1957, in Rowan County, Mr. Graham was a son of James Baxter 'J.B.' and Gladys McDaniel Graham of Salisbury. A 1975 graduate of West Rowan High School, he attended Rowan-Cabarrus Comunity College.
He had retired due to ill health in 1994 from Piedmont Natural Gas after 15 years with the company. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 576, AF & AM and Scottish Rite, and Spencer Moose Lodge.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include wife Sandra Lake Graham, whom he married Nov. 9, 1975; daughter Amanda Graham Westmoreland, Rockwell; brother Gary Graham, Salisbury; and one grandchild.

Ruthie Crisco Owens
CHINA GROVE — Ruthie Crisco Owens, 81, 125 Dillon St., died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at her home.
Born Jan. 24, 1918, in Stanly County, Mrs. Owens was a daughter of the late Dolphus Carl and Jennie Simmons Crisco. Educated in the Stanly County schools, she was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Independent Baptist Church, Landis.
Her husband, W. Fred Owens, died Jan. 26, 1987.
Survivors include son Dolphus “Boots” Owens, China Grove; daughters Linda Owens Graham, China Grove, and Kathy Owens Scarborough, Kannapolis; brother Connie Clinton Crisco, Landis; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Memorial Baptist Church, Landis, conducted by the Rev. Bill Bauguess. The body will be placed in the church at 1: 30. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park.

Allen Glenn Page
The funeral will be Saturday for Allen Glenn Page, 78, Salisbury, who died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999) at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Born July 25, 1921, in Albemarle, Mr. Page was a son of the late Jonah Allen and Carrie Lou Dennis Page. A graduate of Concord High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
A self-employed piano tuner, he previously worked with Maynard Music and Kluttz Piano. He was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith but attended Enon Baptist Church. He was a member of Hudson-Miller-Tatum VFW Post 3006.
A son, Mark Allen Page, died July 5, 1967.
Survivors include wife Ruth Hilton Page; daughter Glenda Blankenship, Billings, Mont.; sisters Gladys Hines, Molalla, Ore., and Kathleen Scales, Raleigh; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Tony Franklin Reece
CHINA GROVE — The funeral will be Friday for Tony Franklin Reece, 34, 530 Arant Road, who died Tuesday (Sept. 28, 1999).
Born July 7, 1965, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Reece was the son of Frankie and Wanda Helms Reece of Salisbury. He was a 1983 graduate of South Rowan High School and attended Rowan Technical Institute, now Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Employed by the Hershey Ice Cream Corp., he was a member of Landis Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include wife Leslie Branham Reece, whom he married March 25, 1994; son Karson Reece, of the home; sisters TammyBrown, Granite Quarry, and Kim Steele, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; and grandmother Mary Fesperman Helms, Rockwell.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Landis Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Billy Honeycutt, the Rev. Richard Horn and the Rev. Randy Perry. The body will be placed in the church at 1: 30. Burial, West Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. The remainder of the time, the family will be at the Arant Road home.
