Harry Rolland Rose
Harry Rolland Rose, 84, Salisbury, formerly of Hamilton, Mont., died Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation after a period of declining health and a week of serious illness.
Born June 12, 1915, in Anaconda, Mont., Mr. Rose was a son of the late Harry and Onetta Staffanson Rose. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later with the U.S. Air Force. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Montana prior to moving to Kannapolis in 1993.
His wife, Dorothy Mae Lambert Rose, preceded him in death.
Survivors include son William D. “Bill” Rose, Landis; sisters Onetta Frances, Hamilton, Mont., and Doris Kellmer, Missoula, Mont.; and two granddaughters.
Services: 4 p.m. Sunday, Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Stan Welch. Burial, 2 p.m. Monday, National Cemetery, Salisbury. military rites by Rowan County Veterans Council.
Visitation: 3-4 p.m. Sunday, Whitley’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis. At other times the family will be at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, William D. “Bill” and Norma L. Rose, 625S. Chapel St., Landis.

Jonathan David Fraley
CHAPEL HILL - Jonathan David Fraley, 87, 105 Woodcrest Drive, died Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Born July 20, 1912, in Stanly County, Mr. Fraley was a son of the late Nan Goodman and Clarence Carlton Fraley. He was a 1933 graduate of Wake Forest University. A retired hospital administrator, Mr. Fraley was last employed with Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Lenoir.
A life member of the Rotary Club, he was also a member of University Baptist Church, Chapel Hill, and the American College of Hospital Administrators. He was the first person baptized at Richfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife Ruth Verranna Pickler Fraley; son J. David Fraley Jr., Birmingham, Ala.; daughter Jane Kodack, Greensboro; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services: Graveside, 4 p.m. Richfield Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Charles Royal.
Visitation: There will be no scheduled visitation. The body will remain at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle, where friends are welcome to pay their respects. The family will be at the home of Jane Kodack, 75Mansfield Circle, Greensboro.

Larry Wayne Lighty
KANNAPOLIS - Larry Wayne Lighty, 55, 313 E. 25th St., died Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Born July 12, 1944, in York County, Pa., Mr. Lighty was a son of Hazel Morrison Lighty, East Berlin, Pa. and the late Lewis Wesley Lighty. A driver for Terminal Trucking Co., Concord, he was a member of St. Paul’s Red Run Church, East Berlin, Pa.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include wife Joan Marie Craun Lighty; daughter Michelle Lynn Lighty, Concord; sons Brian Lee Lighty, York, Pa., and Gerald Wayne Lighty, Dover, Pa.; stepson Brian Scott Lefever, Cornelius; four sisters and two brothers, all of Pennsylvania; one grandson; and four granddaughters.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, St. Paul’s Red Run Church, East Berlin, Pa., conducted by the Rev. Stanley Knavel. Inurnment, church cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Lady’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis.
Dorothy Owen Gwynne
DENTON - Dorothy Gray Owen Gwynne, 90, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) at Mountain Vista Health Park.
Born Feb. 10, 1909, in Moore County, Mrs. Gwynne was a daughter of the late Pearl Phillips and Carl Judson Owen.
Survivors include son John Gwynne and three grandchildren, all of Lexington.
Services: Graveside, 2 p.m. Sunday, Lexington City Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Robert Floyd.
There will be no visitation. Piedmont Funeral Home is in charge.
Ida Mae Hurley Luther
NORWOOD - Ida Mae Harris Hurley Luther, 75, 612 N. Main St., died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle.
Born June 17, 1924, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late George and Daisy Mills Harris. Retired from Collins and Aikman in Norwood, she was a member of Norwood Church of God.
Her first husband, Nelson Horace Hurley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include husband Milton Randolph Luther; sons Wayne, Danny and Rickey Hurley, all of Albemarle, Robert Hurley, Wadesboro, and Benny Hurley, Sarasota, Fla.; daughters Brenda Green, Albemarle, Janice Patterson, Richfield, and Peggy Christie, Salisbury; brothers Jay Harris, Wadesboro, and Arnie Harris, Mount Gilead; sister Agnes Marsh, Lilesville; stepsons Harry E. Luther, White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Barry Luther, Norwood, and Franklin Luther, Oakboro.; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Sunday, Norwood Church of God, conducted by the Rev. Donald McGuire and the Rev. Ted Smith. Burial, Norwood Cemetery.

Darrell Dean Craven
Darrell Dean Craven, 52, Home Road, died Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Born March 12, 1947, in Rowan County, Mr. Craven was a son of the late Nellie Correll and Floyd E. Craven. He was formerly employed by Cannon Mills in Salisbury.
He is survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services: Graveside, 3 p.m. Sunday, Rowan Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Charles Turner.

Luetrecia Yvette Fullerton
Luetrecia Yvette Fullerton, 24, of Arlington, Va. died Wednesday (Sept. 22, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after three days of illness.
Born March 3, 1975, in Arlington, Va., she was a daughter of Donna Fullerton, Arlington, Va. A Baptist, she worked as a store clerk.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Edith Neel Gardner, Salisbury, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

Ruth McDaniel Foster
MOCKSVILLE-- Ruth McDaniel Foster, 85, Milling Road, Mocksville, died Saturday (Sept. 25, 1999) at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Born Oct. 21, 1913 in Davie County, she was a daughter of the late Iva Cornatzer and the late George B. McDaniel.
She was a homemaker and a member of Dulin United Methodist Church.
Two children, Connie F. King and Vickie Foster, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Thurman Foster of Mocksville; brother Bob McDaniel and sister Hazel Gobble.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Dulin United Methodist Church, the Revs. Ray Offerll and Robert McLawhorn. Burial in church cemetery.

Dale T. Goodrich
KANNAPOLIS-- Dale Trump Goodrich, 70, 3831 Sunrise Drive, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) at his residence.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Oct. 9, 1928, Mr. Goodrich was a son of the late Harry Goodrich and Minnie Harrington Goodrich.
He retired in 1989 from Consolidated Freightways, where he was employed for 30 years as a truck driver.
He had lived in the Kannapolis area for 24 years and was an active member of First Assembly of God, where he served as an usher and worked with the Senior Citizens Ministry and Specialized Ministry.
Mr. Goodrich was a member of Cabarrus Masonic Lodge No. 720 and was a past Watchman of Shepherds of Concordia Shrine.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Heighberger Goodrich; sons Duane Goodrich of Akron, Ohio, and Dwight Goodrich of Kannapolis; and four grandchildren.
Services: Memorial at 7 p.m. Monday, First Assembly Worship Center, Concord, with the Revs. Tom Whidden, Fenton Jones and Tommy Torrence.
Visitation: The family will be at the residence.
