RUTH ETTA LEONARD COOK
North Myrtle Beach, SC – Ruth Etta Leonard Cook, 88, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at McLeod Loris Hospital.
Born August 24, 1923, in High Point, NC, she was the daughter of the late Burgess Guy and Ruth E. Leonard. She was the beloved wife of Charles R. Cook, married for 64 years at the time of his death in 2011.
She was a Registered Nurse who trained at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston – Salem, and served in the Army Nurse Corps. She and Charles lived in Euclid, Ohio, for many years and raised their family there. They retired to Pittsboro in 1983, and lived in Fearrington Village. They moved to Cherry Grove, SC, in 1999.
Mrs. Cook is survived by three daughters, Leslie Walker (Steven) of Columbia, SC, Shirley Zeff (Kenneth) of Chicago Park, CA, Carolyn Lutz (Michael) of Euclid, OH; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife and mother, and a gracious and kind friend. She was an active church member in the Baptist faith, and was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, July 18, at the Lee Funeral Home Chapel in North Myrtle Beach, officiated by her pastor, the Rev. Anthony Poston.
A graveside service with military honors was held Thursday, July 19 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Pittsboro.
Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
LOUISE WEST INGRAM
WINSTON-SALEM – Louise West Ingram, 90, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, at her daughter’s home, where she had enjoyed living for the past five years.
Louise was born January 13, 1922 in Forsyth County to the late George Willis and Carrie Erwin West. She was a member of Crews United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Smith Ingram and a brother, William R. West.
She is survived by a son, Larry A. Ingram (Linda) of Marshallberg; a daughter, Judy C. Ingram of Chapel Hill; three grandchildren, James Ingram, Charles Ingram, Adam Ingram Perry; one great grandchild, Lucy Ingram; five sisters, Nellie Graves of Clemmons, Ruby Beeson (Lawrence) of Winston-Salem, Nancy Voss of Kernersville, Mary Dillon of Kernersville and Nina Smith of Jamestown.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Crews United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Pam Watkins officiating.

WILMA FEIL ZERINGUE
Wilma Feil Zeringue passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the age of 91. Born in Coffeyville, KS on February 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Gustave and Fleta Feil. A resident of Metairie, LA for 31 plus years and a resident of Powder Springs, GA for 27 months, she was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Kenner. Wilma enjoyed a wonderful life as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the beloved wife of the late Marion James Zeringue.
She is survived by sons, Alan J. Zeringue (Carol) of Sauk Rapids, MN, Mark J. Zeringue, MD (Elizabeth) of Siler City, NC; daughters, Karen Z. DiNicola (David) of Powder Springs, GA; Janis Z. Campbell (Dennis) of Savannah GA; granddaughter, Jennifer M. Rainwater (Jason) and great grandson, James Carson Rainwater of Suwanee, GA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral service in the Chapel of Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11 a.m..
Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

RONALD CRAIG SCOTT II
Ronald Craig Scott II, 41, of Bennett. passed away Thursday, (07-12-2012) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday (07-14-2012) at 11 a.m. at High Falls Friends Church with Pastor Ben Hurley officiating.
Mr. Scott was a Chatham County native and a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vernon Kidd.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia K. Goodhue of the home; father, Ronald Scott of Siler City; brothers, John Scott of Mississippi, Michael Goodhue, Cale Goodhue, both of Asheville; sister, Brittany Scott of High Point; grandmother, Marion S. Kidd of the home.
DONNA LYNN DAVIS KING
Donna Lynn Davis King, 42, of Star, died Monday, (07-09-2012) at her home.
Funeral services were held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, (07-11-2012) at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Interment was in West End Cemetery.
Mrs. King was born in Randolph County and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Grant King, of the home; daughter, Amber Warner of Concord; son, Joshua Davis of Lumberton; daughters, Sarah King, Megan King, both of the home; son, Jason King of Star; father, Don and Denise Davis of Bear Creek; mother, Juanita and Jerry Bruce of Ether; and eight grandchildren.
JOHN HAROLD TYSON
Mr. John Harold Tyson, 60, of Asheboro, died Friday, (07-13-2012), at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, (07-16-2012) at Richland Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, Mr. Tyson was born March 29, 1952. He was the son of the late Fred Thomas Tyson and Minnie Ruth Swain Tyson. He graduated from Union Pines High School and Wayne Community College. He was a member of Richland Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and he operated the sound system.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Tyson of the home; son, Christopher Thomas Tyson of the home; sister, Janette Bristow Ashley of Sanford; brother, Tommy Tyson of Carthage, Larry Bristow of Siler City.

LANA MARIE NANCE SMITH
Lana Marie Nance Smith, 70, of Silk Hope Road, Siler City died Sunday, (07-15-2012) .
Mrs. Smith was born in Cabarrus County on July 25, 1941, the daughter of Grady and Corinna Clara (Russell) Nance. She was a homemaker and a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, June Greene.
Survivors include daughters, Serena Fristoe, Amy Olsen; sons, Frank Smith, Kerry Smith; brother; Neil Nance; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, (07-19-2012) from 1 to 2 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. A memorial service will follow in the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Brown officiating.

JOSEPH LEON GLOSSON
Mr. Leon Glosson, 76, of Pittsboro died Saturday, (07-14-2012) at Laurels of Chatham.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday (07-18-2012) in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne funeral service.
A native of Orange County, Mr. Glosson was born November 13, 1935in Chapel Hill to the late Henry Brodie and Ethel Bennett Glosson.He served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a small business owner, and a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Alice Glosson Oakley, Louise Glosson Rochelle and brother, Henry Brodie Glosson, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Leitha Howard Glosson; sons, Tony Glosson, Brett Glosson, Jeff Glosson, all of Pittsboro, Mark Glosson of Chapel Hill; daughter, Kara Glosson Burke of Pittsboro; brother, William Glosson of Fayetteville; and eleven grandchildren.

Miss Mary Matthews, 57, died Thursday (07-12-2012) at Siler City Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday (07-14-2012) at Holy Trinity Church, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors include son, Emmanuel Matthews of the home; sisters, Rosa Evans of Arizona, Sharon Siler, Ivey Smith, Beatrice Matthews, Betty Dark, Lena Brooks, Phyllis Tate, Daisy Currie, Frances Moffitt, all of Siler City; brothers, Leon Matthews of Coleridge, William Matthews, Garland Matthews, Steve Matthews, all of Siler City and Donald Matthews of Randleman.
MARY SMITH MORGAN
Mary Smith Morgan, 59, of Staley, died Monday, (07-16-2012) at Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell in Burlington.
The funeral will be Saturday, (07-21-2012) at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Morgan was born September 2, 1952, daughter of Harvey and Fleda Gillespie Smith. She attended Shady Grove Baptist Church, and had been employed at A. J. Schneierson, Byrds Food Stores and Burlington Coat Factory. Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by sisters: Margaret Joyner of Niceville, FL, Carolyn Brewer of Siler City; brothers, H. B. Smith, Jr. of Asheboro, Charles Smith of Lumberton, Paul Smith, Weldon Smith, and Richard Smith, all of Siler City.
The family will receive friends Friday, (07-20-2012) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home.

KENNETH MARK ANDREW
Kenneth Mark Andrew, 53, of 343 Moon-Lindley Road, Snow Camp died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at his home.
Kenneth was born in Chatham County on April 13, 1959, the son of Blake and Rebecca Lindley Andrew. He was a poultry farmer, a 1977 graduate of Jordan-Matthews High School and attended Central Carolina Community College. He was a birthright member of South Fork Friends Meeting, loved fishing, hunting arrowheads and enjoyed being outdoors and watching motocross racing. Kenneth was preceded in death by two sisters, Gayla Dawn Andrew and Janie Andrew Lindley, grandparents, Mark and Gladys Lindley and Harvey and Blanche Andrew.
He is survived by a son, Brandon Lindley Andrew of Siler City; his parents, Blake and Rebecca Lindley Andrew of Snow Camp; a brother, Lin Andrew and wife Angie of Silk Hope; his beloved dogs, Rat and Little Rat; nieces, Alyce Lindley Phillips, Mary Lindley Needham, Lindley Bradyn Andrew; nephews, Michael Andrew Lindley and Brady Foster Andrew.
At the request of Kenneth, a private graveside service for family and friends was held Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at South Fork Friends Cemetery, 359 South Fork – Bethel Road, Snow Camp with Andrew Needham officiating.

REV. MANUEL ELI CUNNUP
Rev. Manuel Eli Cunnup, 91, of 415 Hillcrest Avenue, Goldston went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at White Oak Manor, Burlington.
Mr. Cunnup was born January 2, 1921 at Fort Mill, SC, the son of John James and Alice (Wright) Cunnup. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp having served during WW II. Rev. Cunnup attended Campbell University and Wake Forest University. He received a BA in History from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Rev. Cunnup served as pastor at Rock Springs Baptist Church, New Salem Baptist, Mays Chapel Baptist, Sandy Branch Baptist and Magnolia Street Baptist Church. He served as interim pastor at Eller Memorial Baptist and Clifton Road Baptist. During his pastorates he served in numerous other capacities including, Director of Missions for the Sandy Creek Baptist Association, 10 years with the Piedmont Baptist Association, interim director of Alamance County Missions, and on the General Board of The Baptist State Convention. Rev. Cunnup also served as a Trustee at Wake Forest University and as the Mission Committee Coordinator of NC Prison Ministries.
Rev. Cunnup was awarded the Good Shepherd Award for Distinguished Service of Boy Scouts by the National Association of Boy Scouts. In his spare time he enjoyed outdoor activities including golf, carpentry and camping. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Painter Cunnup.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Cunnup of Goldston, NC, David Cunnup and wife, Frances of Hurdle Mills, Tim Cunnup and wife, Camille of Goldston, NC; grandchildren, Jenny and Brian Bowes, Chance and Jill Cunnup, Chad and Kristy Horner, Katlyn Cunnup and Hannah Cunnup; great-grandchildren, Brady and Abby Cunnup, Kate, Collin and Ella Horner, Gracen and Macee Bowes.
The family received friends Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, and other times at 415 Hillcrest Avenue, Goldston. The funeral was held Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Sandy Branch Baptist Church, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Bob Wachs, Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. Thomas Simpson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Military Rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
