ELAINE JOHNSON MURRAY
Elaine Johnson Murray, 57, went home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2012 concluding an extended battle with cancer.
Elaine was born December 20, 1954 in Siler City, North Carolina, the daughter of Pauline Johnson and the late Robert Johnson. She graduated from Jordan-Matthews High School in 1973 and went on to receive an associate degree in Administration and Fashion Design. She married Tommy Braxton Murray in July, 1978.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Murray of Apex and was a devoted mother of two children, Derek Braxton Murray of Jacksonville, Florida and Jill Murray McDonald of Fargo, North Dakota. She is survived by her brothers, Raymond Johnson and wife, Donna, niece Sarah, Phillip Johnson and wife, Myra, nephew Phillip Todd; sister, Margaret Tarkenton and husband, Don, niece Stephanie.
Elaine retired after 30 years with North Carolina State University. She loved gardening and spending time with her family and dogs, Sage and Bella.
A visitation and funeral service was held on Monday, September 3, 2012. Visitation began at 10 a.m. funeral service was at 11:30 a.m. in Siler City, NC, Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344.
JOHN WILLARD SMITH
John Willard Smith, 85, of Siler City died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Hospice at the Meadowlands, Hillsborough.
Mr. Smith was born June 15, 1927, the son of Willie Mark and Gertrude (Johnson) Smith. He retired from Boling Chair as a supervisor. Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Terry Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Smith Hodge and husband, Jackie of Kernersville, Cindy Smith Reid and husband, David of Bear Creek; two sisters, Betty S. Brooks of Siler City, Hilda S. Deaton of Durham; and a special niece, Denise Love Scott of Siler City.
The funeral was held Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 3631 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City with Rev. Jason Dickerson and Rev. Brian Wellborn officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service at the church.

RAMONA KADRICH
Juanita Ramona Kadrich, 57, made her final transition Tuesday, August 28, 2012 after a brief illness.
She was a long time resident of Bynum, and is survived by two daughters; three grandchildren; and a close knit family of friends.
A private memorial service will be held.
JACQUELINE WHITE BEAL
Greensboro – Jacqueline White Beal passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 at her home with her family by her side.
A 2 p.m. graveside service was conducted by Reverend Virginia Herring on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church in Bear Creek.
Jacqueline was born in Greensboro on March 25, 1928 to the late Moses Andrew White and Wilhelmina Sawyer White. She grew up in Greensboro and attended Margaret Hall School, Saint Mary’s and UNC at Chapel Hill. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, the Junior League, the Greensboro Country Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arlie, whom she married in 1953.
Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Nancy B. Zaremski of Charlotte, daughter, India B. Cothren and son-in-law, Randall W. Cothren of Wilmington, and daughter, Tommye B. Kepp and son-in-law James Cornelius Kepp, Jr. of Watkinsville, GA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Neal Kepp III and Rebecca Kepp of Watkinsville, Ben Cothren and Savannah Cothren of Wilmington.
The family would like to thank caregivers Erica, Kathy, Joyce and Debbie of Comfort Keepers of Greensboro for their dedicated care.

ELMER WAYNE BOULDIN, SR.
Mr. Elmer Wayne Bouldin, Sr., 93, of Pittsboro died September 4, 2012 in his home.
Mr. Bouldin was born May 17, 1919 in Surry County, the son of James Frank Bouldin and Elizabeth Creed Bouldin. He moved with his family to Chatham County around age 2 and lived the majority of his life there. Mr. Bouldin worked primarily in construction in order to support his passion for farming. He was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and also taught Sunday school. He was a member of the Pittsboro Lions Club.
Mr. Bouldin is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Hope B. and Doug Clark of Pittsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Harriett Bouldin of Fort Mill, SC; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur Bouldin of Pittsboro, Rev. J. R. Bouldin of Bear Creek; and sister-in-law, Lillie Bouldin of Pittsboro. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha Holt Bouldin.
The service to celebrate the life of Mr. Elmer Bouldin will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, September 7, 2012 at Pittsboro Baptist Church with Dr. Tripp Harmon and Rev. Robert Bouldin presiding. Interment will follow in Emmaus Baptist Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the Bouldin family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hall – Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro, and at other times at the residence of Hope and Doug Clark.
Arrangements for Mr. Bouldin are under the care of Hall – Wynne funeral service and Cremation of Pittsboro.
KAREN S. SNIPES
Karen Sussett Snipes, age 40, of 3966 Meadow Ridge Court, Asheboro, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randolph and Sandra Gonzales officiating. Burial will be held in Honduras.
Mrs. Snipes was a native of Honduras and a member of Cristo Nueva Vida in Ramseur. She was employed with the McDonald’s Corporation, where she worked her way up from an hour employee to McDonald’s Regional Supervisor. She was awarded the Ray Kroc Award, an award that is presented to less than 1% of McDonald’s employees worldwide.
She is survived by her husband, George Terrill Snipes; daughters, Karen Funez, Lilia Funez, and Nicole Snipes; parents; Jose Navarro and Gladys Castejon of Honduras; brother and sister-in-law, Jose and Marcela de Navarro of Honduras; sister, Monica Navarro of Honduras; grandmother, Susana de Castejon of Honduras; aunt, Mary Castejon of Siler City; cousins, Patricia Lopez and her husband Jorge and their family of Siler City, Raul Castejon of Siler City, and Ceasar Castejon of Siler City, NC.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, and other times at her home.

HENRY “BUCK” PUGH
Mr. Henry “Buck” Pugh, 78, of Siler City died Sunday (08-19-2012) at E Carlton Powell Hospice in Lillington.
funeral service were held Thursday (08-23-2012) at Knotts Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsboro.
Mr. Pugh was educated in the Chatham County Schools and was employed at Moncure Plywood Plant for many years.
Surviving are daughter, Cynthia P. Richardson, Vanessa McIvey, both of Sanford; son, Kim Pugh of Siler City; sisters, Ethel Baldwin of Pittsboro, Virginia DeGraffenreidt of Siler City, brothers, Odell Pugh, Earnest Pugh, both of Siler City; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
ROY SILER, JR.
Roy Siler, Jr., 84, of Siler City died Friday (08-24-2012) at U.N.C. Hospitals.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (08-30-2012) at 1 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Barry R. Gray and Rev. Neal Siler. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Siler was a native of Chatham County and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where he had served as church leader, trustee, treasurer, financial secretary, and deacon.
Survivors include daughters, Gail Matthews of Siler City, Harriet Siler of Gibsonville, Shelia Walden of Apex; sons, Rev. Neal Siler of Mechanicsville, VA, Douglas Siler, Blake Siler, both of Siler City, Rev. Miles Siler of Goldston; sisters, Mary Louise Alston, Margie Ann Person, both of Siler City; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
JACKIE “JACK” SANDERFORD
Jackie Elton “Jack” Sanderford, Sr., 67, of New Hill died Saturday (08-25-2012) at Rex Health Care in Raleigh.
Funeral services were held Tuesday (08-28-2012) at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Moncure with Rev. Lewis Lawson officiating. Burial followed in the Merry Oaks Cemetery.
Mr. Sanderford was born October 24, 1944 in Wake County, son of the late John Elton Sanderford and Mavis Eason Sanderford. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Sanderford and Hazel Sanderford.
Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Sanderford of the home; daughter, Holly Sue Sanderford Price of Wilmington; sons, Jackie “Jack” Elton Sanderford, Jr., David Earl Sanderford, both of New Hill; sisters, Lena S. Stone of Moncure, Phyllis S. Gullie of Garner, Rose S. House of Broadway; brothers, Joe P. Sanderford, Sr., John Paul Sanderford, both of Moncure; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
CHARLIE THOMAS POOLE
Charlie Thomas Poole, 76, of Broadway, died Monday (08-27-2012) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Welborn and Daniel McNeill officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Siler City.
Mr. Poole was born in Randolph County, son of the late Charlie Tate Poole and Alice Haithcock Poole. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Poole, Mary Langley and his wife, Gaynelle Poole.
Survivors include daughters Phyllis Elliott of the home, Mary Burke of Bear Creek, Lisa Brown of Pittsboro, Kristina Byington of Sanford; sister, Cora Poole of California; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Wednesday (08-29-2012) from 6-8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway, and other times, at the family home, 795 Patterson Road, Broadway.
REBECCA MAGRUDER
Rebecca Magruder, age 96, died August 14, 2012 in Bedford, VA.
Born Rebecca Gladys Ward in Randolph County, N.C., she married Fred B. Marion, Sr. and moved to Williamsburg, VA. She arranged flowers for Colonial Williamsburg and Claude Jones. After the death of her first husband, Becky married Thomas G. Magruder and owned and operated the Scotland House on Merchants Square with him.
Becky leaves behind a sister, Mary Mcatee, a brother, Robert E. Ward, as well as three children: F. Blakely Marion, Jr., David R. Marion and Suzanne M. Collins, as well as six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held August 25 at 3 p.m. at Whites Chapel Methodist Church in Randolph County, N.C.
If she was afraid of anything, she did it anyway.
HARRY LEE LYTTON
Mr. Harry Lee Lytton, age 78, of Goldston died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Page County, Virginia on May 20, 1934 to the late Olga Olin Lytton and Roberta Clarine Combs Lytton. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Elaine Davis Lytton and grandson Julius Lee Lytton. Mr. Lytton was retired from the United States Army after serving tours in Vietnam and Thailand under the Army Security Agency and National Security Agency. He earned his Associates Degree in Industrial Management Technology and was a member of the American Legion, VFW and enjoyed reading and gardening.
Mr. Lytton is survived by three sons, Robert W. Lytton and fiancé Bonnie Ryan of Sanford, Michael L. Lytton and wife Cindy of Goldston, Steven B. Lytton and wife Tammy of Asheboro; three daughters, Diana L. Lineberry and fiancé Roger Darr of Sanford, Debby Lytton and friend Tracy Daily of Moro, IL, Teresa L. Hutchison and husband Jeff of Goldston; fourteen (14) grandchildren, Scott Allen and wife Susan, Robert Lineberry and wife Heather, Donna McSorley and husband Robert, Ashley Stone and husband Rickey, Jessica Lytton, Mark Vega, Christopher Hutchison, Jennifer Vega, Lyndsay Lytton, Courtney Lytton, Kali Hutchison, Caleb Lytton, Holly Lytton, and Levi Lytton; and three (3) great-grandchildren, Emma McSorley, Tommy Lineberry, and Salem Allen; and five (5) siblings, Margaret Lewis and husband Dean of Roanoke, VA, Orpha Fadeley of Edinburg, VA, Olga C. Lytton and wife Debbie of Windsor, CO, Katye Jolliffe of Amissville, VA and Donald M. Lytton of Salem, VA; and a special brother-in-law James Rober-son of Pittsboro and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Saturday August 25, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral was held Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Derrick Baker and Rev. Mitch Roginsky presiding. Burial followed at Bethany Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors.
The family wants to thank the kind nurses with UNC Hospice and his caregivers Crissy Moody and Stephanie and Mark Mashburn.
