JOHN 'HAROLD' McDANIEL
John "Harold" McDaniel, 75, of 5602 Sam Leonard Road, Bennett died Saturday at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2005 at Beulah Baptist Church where he was a member with Rev. Stacy Layne and Dr. Curtis Barbery officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. McDaniel was a native of Chatham County, a retired driver for Townsends, Inc., and a loyal volunteer and member of the Tri-County Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Berta B. McDaniel of the home; son, Michael Spoon and wife Joy of Asheboro; daughter, Patricia Clark and husband Harold of Robbins; grandchildren, Misty Clark and Bill Micah Clark, both of Robbins, Tiffany Spoon of Asheboro; brothers, William McDaniel and wife Evelyn of Siler City, Raymond McDaniel and wife Helen of Gloucester, Va, Robert McDaniel and wife, Rosa of Siler City; sisters, Rachel Marley of Kernersville, Lessie Dowd and husband Graham of Siler City, Nancy Meekins and husband, Michael of Asheboro; and special niece, Samantha Brady of Bennett.
MILDRED GARRETT PAGE
Mrs. Mildred Garrett Page, 77, of 2105 Wilkins Drive, Sanford died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Parkview Retirement Center.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Olivia Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Page was born in Rougemont, the daughter of the late Ernest Garrett and Illy Cothran Garrett, preceded in death by her husband, Everatte Page and by a son, Michael Everatte Page. She was a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Ann Page Ketchum of Greensboro; sisters, Jeanette McLaurin and husband, Hugh, Thelma O'Daniel and husband, Steve, all of Pittsboro, Glenda Roberts, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers, Ernest Garrett and wife, Lois, Ted Garrett, all of Raleigh and Thad Garrett and wife Lois of Fayetteville.
Visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.
FLETCHER W. BROOKS
Fletcher W. Brooks of Siler City died Friday, (03-11-2005) at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (03-15-2005) at 2 pm at Jordan Grove A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. James Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brooks was a native of Chatham County and a member of Jordan Grove Church. He was a retired employee of First Union National Bank and a member of the American Legion post in Siler City.
Survivors include a son, Jennings Brooks of Greensboro and daughter, Helen Handon of Suitland, Md.
JACK LINBERG IMBERLY, JR.
Jack Linberg Wimberly, Jr., 53, of Pittsboro died Saturday, (03-12-2005).
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, (03-15-2005) in the Griffin funeral service Chapel. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
He was a native of Roberson County and a construction worker. Jack was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Survivors include his father, Jack L. Wimberly, Sr.: daughters, Bobbie J. Howell of Mt. Sidney, Va., Sherry Waddell of Fuquay-Varina, Janice Huffman of Broadway son, Jack L. Wimberly III of Sanford; and a sister, Terri Tripp of Chapel Hill.
MARY ELIZABETH ELLIS
Mary Elizabeth Ellis, 83 of Pittsboro died Thursday (03-10-2005) in Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, (03-13-2005) in Griffin funeral service Chapel with Rev. Vince Holder officiating. Burial followed in Manns Chapel Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellis was a native of Creedmoor and a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Mary George of Ramseur, Louise Hill of Asheboro; son, Jesse Ellis, Jr. of Pittsboro; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
REX WILKIE
Rex Wilkie, 79, of Bear Creek died Sunday, (03-13-2005) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, (03-16-2005) at 2 pm at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wilkie was a native of Chatham County, a retired poultry farmer and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Moncie Tally Wilkie of Bear Creek; son, Randy Wilkie of Bear Creek; daughters, Joan Jessup of Ramseur, Connie Henson of Siler City; sisters Ruth W. Brown of Siler City, Mozelle W. Steele of Archdale; brothers, Lacy Wilkie and Billy Wilkie, both of Siler City; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

PORTER STONE HALE
Porter Stone Hale, 90, of Siler City died Friday, (03-11-2005) at SunBridge Care Facilities.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Sunday, (03-13-2005) at Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church, Pittsboro with Rev. Lamont Hemminger officiating. Burial followed at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery in Snow Camp.
Mrs. Hale was native of Chatham County and a member of Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, James Winfred Cooper of Siler City, Robert (Bob) L. Cooper of Snow Camp, Donald Garrett Hale of Winston-Salem; sister, Edith Perry of Randleman; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
JAMES McSWAIN
James McSwain, 52 of Bear Creek died Friday, (03-11-2005) at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 pm on Monday, (03-14-2005) at Gees Grove A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Allen Moore officiating. Burial followed in this church cemetery.
Mr. McSwain was a native of Chatham County and an employee of Joan Fabrics. He was a graduate of Chatham Central High School and a member of Gees Grove A.M.E. Zion church.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia L. McSwain; daughter, Lindsey M. McSwain of the home; sons, Janus P. McSwain, of the home; and sister, Judy A. Mason of Siler City.
REV. ROSEBUD M. GOLDSTON
Rev. Rosebud M. Goldston, 75, of Pittsboro died Wednesday, (03-09-2005) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Friday (03-11-2005) at Alston Chapel U.N.H. Church with Elder Carrie H. Bolton officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Rev. Goldston was a member of Alston Chapel Church, Associate Minister, Mother Board, Seven Brother Union.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Macie Goldston; sister, Rev. Roxzelle D. Goldston of Pittsboro; brothers, Arthur Lee Goldston of Pittsboro, Robert Earl Alston of the home, Bryant Christopher Headen of Siler City.
JOHN WASHINGTON BROWN
Mr. John Washington Brown, 77, of Ramseur died Monday (02-21-2005) at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, (02-24-2005) at Knotts Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. M. P. McCleave officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Brown of the home; son, Donald Brown, Sr., of Ramseur; daughters, Anna Alston of Ramseur, Jacquline Scotten of Franklinville, Edwina Corbett of High Point; sister, Elizabeth Brown of Liberty; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
ADDIE JANE MANESS CAMPBELL
Jane Maness Campbell, 87, of Greensboro died Wednesday, (02-23-2005) at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (02-26-2005) at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City with Rev. Jim Whittaker officiating. Burial followed in Meroney United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bear Creek.
Mrs. Campbell was a native of Chatham County and attended Eller Memorial Baptist Church in Greensboro. She was a sales representative with Avon for 48 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy C. Rives of Greensboro; son, James Coley Campbell, Jr. of Browns Summit; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.

NANCY STEDMAN CONRAD
Mrs. Nancy Stedman Conrad, 72 of Pittsboro died Tuesday (02-22-2005) at UNC Hospitals.
Services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (02-25-2005) at Pittsboro United Methodist church, with Pastor Jack Page officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Stedman was a native of Chatham County, a homemaker and a member of Pittsboro United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Pittsboro High School and attended Greensboro College and High Point College.
Survivors include her husband, Allen F. Conrad; daughter Daun Krombach of Apex; son, Al Conrad of Ooltewah, TN; and three grandchildren.

RUFUS W. BROWN
Rufus Willis Brown, 72 of Bennett died Tuesday, (02-22-2005) at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, (02-25-2005) at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Rev. Chris Wood and Rev. Thurman Williams. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Brown was a native of Randolph County, owner and operator of Brown’s Exxon and Grocery for 22 years, a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, a Marine Corps Veteran, and a member of the American Legion Post #81 in Liberty.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Elkins Brown of the home; son, Roger Brown of Liberty; daughters, Jenny Langley of Ramseur, Carol Sheppard, Teresa Seawell, both of Asheboro, Sheila Oakes of Graham; brothers, Henry Brown and Garland Brown, both of Bennett; sisters Lucille Brown and Peggy Hammer, both of Asheboro; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
