GRACE MARLETTE CRISSON
Grace Marlette Crisson, 95, of 307 North Third Avenue, Siler City on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at her home.
Graveside services and burial were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2005 at Moore's Chapel Cemetery, Saxapahaw.
Mrs. Crisson was a native of Orange County, a retired legal secretary with Moody and Moody, Attorneys at Law and assisted in income tax filing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Preston Crisson, twin brother, Lacy Grimes Marlette and sister, Goley Avent Marlette.
Survivors include daughter, Nettie C. Brown and husband, Ernest of Siler City; granddaughter, Grace Marlette Brown Willett and husband, Robert of Raleigh; and great-grandchildren, Candace Rose Willett and Ava Grace Willett.

MOZELLE SCOTT BROWN
Mozelle Scott Brown, 88, of 1002 South Chatham Avenue, Siler City died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at SunBridge Care Facilities.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2005 at West End United Methodist Church in Siler City with Rev. Jim Whittaker officiating. Burial followed at Tyson's Creek Baptist Church in Bear Creek.
Mrs. Brown was a native of Chatham County, attended West End United Methodist Church, was a member of Tyson's Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Brown.
Survivors include her son, Carl Brown and wife, Karen of Dallas, TX; daughter, Linda Parks and husband, Randall of Siler City; brother, Carl Scott and wife, Willene of Bear Creek; grandchildren, Karlie Brown, Michelle Morris, Dawn Parks; and one great-grandchild, Kealee Morris.

MR. GEORGE WILLIAMS
Mr. George Williams, 57, of Siler City died Saturday, (04-30-2005) at his residence.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (05-04-2005) at Holy Trinity Church in Siler City. Burial followed at Chatham Memorial Park.
Mr Williams was employed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of Harris Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was Chairman of the Trustee Board.
Survivors include his wife, Lois W. Williams; daughter, Tasha Williams; stepchildren, Martha Peoples, Eva Wiley , Nicky Peoples; brother, Jessie Williams of Siler City; sisters, Thaydean House, Celestine Sturdivant, both of Albemarle, Maggie B. Gingles of Gastonia; and five grandchildren.
BRENDA CAROL FARRAR ALSTON
Brenda Carol Farrar Alston, 58 of Siler City died Wednesday, (04-27-2005) at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday (04-30-2005), at Evans Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Stanley Burnett officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Ms. Alston was a native of Chatham County and a graduate of Liberty High School. She was retired from the Chatham County School system.
Survivors include daughters, Kendra N. Alston of Greensboro, Lynn Alston of Siler City; mother, Bonnie W. Farrar of Staley; sisters, Debra Jordan of Huston, TX., Cathy Cotton of Fayetteville, Bonita Baldwin of Siler City, Sharon Spinks of Coleridge; brothers, Thomas Farrar, Jr. of Siler City, George E. Farrar of Columbus, Ohio, Frankie Farrar of Staley, Ricky Farrar of Ramseur; and three grandchildren.
CHARLES “DAVID” GRESHAM
Mr. Charles “David” Gresham, 61, died Saturday (04-16-2005) at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday (04-21-2005) at Jordan-Grove AME Zion Church.
HERBERT HEADEN, JR.
Mr. Herbert Headen, Jr., 59, of Siler City, died Tuesday (04-19-2005), at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services were held at 3 pm Saturday, (04-23-2005) at Price Community Church of God. Burial followed in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Headen: sons, Christopher Lee Headen, Jimmy Jerome Headen; brothers, Robert Headen, Thomas Hugo Headen of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Juanita Reives, Martha Yarborough, Joann Headen, all of Siler City, Norma Yarborough of Asheboro; and four grandchildren.
MATTIE LEE COX OLDHAM
Mattie Cox Oldham, 83, of Cameron died Wednesday, (04-20-2005) at Trace Rehabilitation and Health Services, Inc. in Sanford.
Graveside services and burial were held at 2 pm on Friday (04-22-2005) at Cool Springs Methodist Church Cemetery in Glendon with Rev. Frank Lloyd officiating.
Mrs. Oldham was a native of Richmond County and retired from Boling Chair Company.
Survivors include sons, Ronald A. Oldham of Goldston, Billy Ray Oldham, Joe Oldham, both of Cameron, David C. Oldham of Moncure; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
ROY Q. DEATON
Roy Quincy Deaton, 84, of Seagrove died Sunday, (04-24-2005) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held at 11 am Wednesday, (04-27-2005), at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Gerald Ward and Rev. Russell Chrisco, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Deaton was a native of Randolph County and a retired farmer.
Survivors include a brother, Willis Deaton of Seagrove; and a sister, Daisy Johnson of Siler City.
JAMES WARREN ARTHURS, JR.
Mr James Warren Arthurs, Jr., 52, of Pittsboro died Tuesday (04-19-2005).
Services were held at 11 a.m., Friday (04-22-2005) at Pittsboro United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jack Page officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A native of Pittsboro, he was a member of Pittsboro United Methodist Church. He graduated from Northwood High School, attended Chowan College, and was a graduate of Catawba College. He taught at Horton Middle School for 29 years and served as athletic director, where the baseball field was dedicated in his honor.
Survivors include his mother, “Gene” Arthurs of Pittsboro; and brother, John Arthurs of Pittsboro.

GRACE HALL TROGDON
Grace Hall Trogdon, 93, of Panama City, FL, died Sunday, (04-24-2005).
Mrs. Trogdon was a native of Pender County and a former resident of Asheboro.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Verna H. Phillips of Siler City, two step-sons of Lake Worth, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Monday, (04-25-2005) in Panama City, FL.
CHARLES DANIEL (CD) WILSON
Charles Daniel (CD) Wilson, 77, of Bear Creek, died Monday, (04-25-2005) at Chatham Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, (04-27-2005) at 2 pm at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Bear Creek with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wilson was a native of Chatham County, a retired truck driver and member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include brothers, Edel Wilson of Greensboro, Ralph Wilson of Siler City, Arthur Wilson, Jerry Wilson, both of Bear Creek; and sister, Berta Mae Tillman of Siler City.
SALLIE LOUISE FARRELL HARRIS
Sallie Louise Farrell Harris, 83, died Friday, (04-22-2005).
Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm on Monday, (04-25-2005) at Hanks Chapel United Church of Christ. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A native of Chatham County, and was part of a family business, Harris and Farrell Store for many years. She was postmaster of Bynum for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her sons, Walter "Corkey" Harris of Pittsboro, Dan Farrell Harris of Mebane; and two grandchildren, Holly and Emily Harris.
Memorials may be made to Hanks Chapel United Church of Christ or to Bynum United Methodist Church.
MRS. GERALDINE MANESS WELCH
Mrs. Geraldine Maness Welch, 67, of Bennett, died Monday at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Funeral services are being held at 3 pm Thursday (04-28-2005) at Bennett Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy Strider officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Welch was a native of Chatham County and retired from Ramtex.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa W. Bartee of Bennett; mother, Mrs. Vermont B. Maness of Bennett; brother, Bobby E. Maness of Bennett; sisters, Louise Spencer of Ramseur, Betty Wainwright of Asheboro; and three grandsons.
Visitation was held Wednesday (04-27-2005) from 6-8 p.m. at Joyce Brady Funeral Home.
