ROBERT H. JOHNSON
Robert H. Johnson, 82, of Siler City died Saturday, May 28, 2005 at his home, of a farm accident.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 2 pm at Siler City Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tommy E. Steele, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were Edgar Robinson, Sam Talley, Ronnie Buckner, Brad Howard, Tim Austin, and Dusty Austin.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Chatham County, born on January 31, 1923, the son of Robert Lee and Maude Tucker Johnson. A WWII veteran of the Air Force, he was assigned to the Eurpoean Theater. He was retired from the poultry industry. Mr. Johnson was an active member of the Siler City Chapel, serving in various positions, most recently as treasurer and elder.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret Pauline Saunders Johnson of Siler City; sons, Philip Johnson and wife, Myra, Raymond Johnson and wife, Donna, all of Siler City; daughters, Margaret J. Tarkenton and husband, Don of Siler City, Elaine J. Murray and husband, Tommy of Apex; brother, Samuel O. Johnson and wife, Lucille of Siler City; grandchildren, Stephanie Hall, Todd Johnson, Derek Murray, Jill Murray, Sarah Johnson; and one great-grandchild, Christian Pike.

KATHLEEN RUMLEY WYRICK
Kathleen Rumley Wyrick, 76, of 6701 Rivertrack Road, McLeansville went to be with her husband and her Savior on Wednesday, May 25, 2005.
Mrs. Wyrick's funeral was held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, May 29, 2005 in the Forbis and Dick, North Elm Chapel with Rev. Jess Montegudo officiating. Interment followed in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wyrick was born in Guilford County on January 26, 1929 to the late George and Vera Rumley. A lifelong resident of Guilford County, she was retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 37 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Wyrick; a brother, James Rumley; and a granddaughter, Ashley Wyrick.
Mrs. Wyrick is survived by her children, Kathy Jordan and husband, Rodney of McLeansville, Sherri Singhas and husband, Rusty of Siler City, Perry Wyrick and wife, Jackie of Climax; a brother, Carlton Rumley of Elon; two grandchildren, Melissa Crew Singhas and Andy Wyrick.
JESSE WILLARD GRAVES
Jesse Willard Graves, 76 of Ramseur died Monday, (05-09-2005) at Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dunn.
Funeral services were held on Friday (05-13-2005) at 2 p.m. at Oakland Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Lawrence Gilmore and Rev. Rodney Foxx, officiating. Burial followed in Oakland MaCrary Cemetery.
Mr. Graves was a native of Randolph County and retired from Jockey International.
Survivors include his wife, Doris C. Graves; daughter, Pam G. Foushee of Siler City; sister, Florence Cheek of Ramseur; and two grandchildren.
MIRIAM JUANITA DARK KIRK
Miriam Dark Kirk, 77, of Siler City died Tuesday, (05-10-2005) at Chatham Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm, Friday, (05-13-2005) at Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church, Bear Creek with Rev. Randy Hand and Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kirk was a native of Orange County, a member of Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of Philathea Sunday School class. She retired from A. J. Schneierson & Sons.
Survivors include daughters, Linda K. Shaw, Oxford, Susan K. Wood, Cameron, Brenda J. Kirk, Phyllis K. White, Jennifer K. Toothman, all of Siler City; sons, Ricky Kirk, Sanford, Randy Kirk of Goldston; brothers, Horace Dark of Sanford, Bernard Dark of Charlotte; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

NORA G. COX
Nora Garner Cox, 84, of Asheboro died Wednesday (05-11-2005) at Mariner Health Care in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (05-18-2005) at 2 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
Mrs. Cox was a native of Moore County, attended Oakhurst Baptist Church and was a former employee of Klopman Mills in Ramseur.
Survivors include a son, Donald L. Cox of West Kingston, RI; sister, Era Mae Shields of Bennett; brothers, Carl Garner and Bud Garner, both of Bennett; and two grandchildren.

VIVIAN HARDING STOGSDILL
Vivian Harding Stogsdill, 77, of 124 Olde Manor Court, Siler City died Friday, May 13, 2005 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Memorial services were held Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 4 p.m. at Siler City Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sue Flippin officiating.
Mrs. Stogsdill was a native of Lougheed, Alberta, Canada and retired nurse/anesthetist. She was a member of Siler City Presbyterian Church, Elder, member of Presbyterian Women and Evening Circle, former Clerk of Session and a member of the American Association of Nurses and Anesthetists. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman C. Stogsdill. Attending the memorial service were, niece, Lisa Richards and sister-in-law, Anne Harding, both of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; special friends, Beatta Rabie and Anita Joe Cunningham, both from Stuart, VA.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Lisa Richards, Philip Harding, Ian Harding, Nancy Wood, Cathie Stiven, Vivian Kaake, Grant Harding, all of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Craig Harding of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, Debbie Minch, Jack Backstrom, Candice Hehn, all of Davison, MI; sisters-in-law, Anne Harding of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Maxine Fisher, Kelowna, BC; step-nieces, Cathy Gilbert, Karen Robinson, both of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and special friends, Beatta Rabie, Anita Jo Cunningham, both of Stuart, VA and Marcie De Castro, Santiago, Dominican Republic.

DIANNE D. DAVIS
Dianne D. Davis, 64, of Pittsboro, NC passed away on Tuesday, May 10 2005 at Duke Hospice in Hillsborough.
Born March 26, 1941 in Gardiner, Maine, she was the daughter of Norman and Grace Douglas. Dianne graduated from Kents Hill School in Maine, Lindenwood College in Missouri and attended graduate studies at UCLA. She was a devoted public servant, working for many years with Wake County Schools, the City of Raleigh, and for the Orange County Public Library system. After she retired, she devoted her time to her family, to residents at the Laurels of Chatham, and Meals on Wheels.
Dianne is survived by her son, Matt Davis of Apex, NC; her brother, Kenny Douglas of Tavares FL, and her stepchildren Greg Davis of Carrolton, GA, Graham Davis of Riverview, FL, John Davis of West Palm Beach, FL, Russell Davis of Jacksonville, FL and Cindi Neel of Seymour, IN, and two grandchildren, Cameron and Ashton Davis. She was a loving and caring friend and neighbor.
Her husband, Edwin A. Davis who died in 1989, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at Apex Funeral Home. Dianne was laid to rest beside her husband of 23 years in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont, NC.

PORTER PATRICK TUCKER
Porter P. Tucker, 74, of Creedmore, died Monday, (04-25-2005) at VA Hospital in Salisbury.
Graveside services and burial were held at Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City at 2 p.m., Thursday, (04-28-2005) with Rev. Kevin Stumbo and Lisa Markely officiating.
Mr. Tucker was a native of Chatham County and former resident of Siler City, a member of Mays Chapel Baptist Church. He was a Marine veteran of WW II and Korea, receiving the Korean Service metal with one star, United Nations Service Metal and the Purple Heart Metal.
Survivors include his daughter, Gayle T. Gibbs of Franklinton; brother, Virgil Tucker of High Point; sisters, Bernice T. Wallback, Elizabeth Tucker, both of Sanford, Ruby T. Layton of Raleigh; and one granddaughter.

SERGE PANKOW
Mr. Serge Pankow, 45, died Tuesday, (04-26-2005) in New Jersey.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m., Friday, (04-29-2005) with Pastor Bob Wachs officiating at Griffin funeral service and Cremation in Pittsboro.
Mr. Pankow was a native of Wilmington, Delaware, an executive with Wiley Technologies of Brisbane, CA. After graduating from Rutgers University with an undergraduate degree and University of Southern California with a master’s degree, he joined the United States Army and served his commitment in military intelligence.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah, daughter, Anastasia; and son, Nicholas, all of Pittsboro; mother, Eva Burdikoff; sisters, Melanie Cummings and Eugenia Tinfow; and three brothers, Alexander Pankow, the Very Reverend Father Igor Burdikoff, and Claude Burdikoff.
VINCE EDWARD TUCKER
Vince Edward Tucker, 33, of Tampa, FL died Tuesday (04-26-2005).
Graveside services and burial were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, (05-01-2005) at Oakley Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Womack Keck officiating.
Mr. Tucker was a native and former resident of Siler City. He attended Jordan-Matthews High School and was a travel reservationist with Super Shuttle, St. Petersburg, FL.
Survivors include his mother, Glenda Dees Tucker of Tampa, FL; father, Gaither Tucker of Siler City; brother, Troy Tucker of McLeansville; and grandmother, Flora Tucker of State Road.
LEROY HATCHER
Mr. Leroy Hatcher, 61 of Asheboro died Friday, (04-29-2005) at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, (05-02-2005) at West Asheboro Church of God with Rev. Thurman Jenkins officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro.
Mr. Hatcher was a native of Richmond County and a member of West Asheboro Church of God. He served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Hortense Shaw Hatcher of the home; daughters, Lori Barker of Pittsboro, Donna Hatcher of Carthage; step-daughter, Linda Linder of Asheboro; stepsons, Larry Poole, Mark Poole, both of Asheboro; brothers, Bryant Hatcher, Bruce Hatcher, both of Rockingham, Donnie Hatcher, Edward “Chick” Hatcher, both of Hamlet; half-brother, Wylie V. Hatcher of Wilmington; two grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

DOROTHY R. LEAK
Dorothy R. Leak, 68, of Pittsboro died Friday, (04-22-2005) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, (04-26-2005) at St. Matthews AME Zion Church with Rev. Gloria Moor officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Leak was a member of St. Matthews Church where she was past president of the Senior Usher Board and a life member of the Missionary Socity.
Survivors include her husband, Willie C. Leak of the home; daughters, Joyce Wilson of Carrboro, Frances Nettles of Pittsboro; sons, Clinton L. Leak, Paul Watson; sister, Patricia Phillips of Hemstead, NY; brothers, Haywood Page, Theodore Page; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
