EUGENE RAYMOND ANDREW
Eugene Raymond Andrew, 87, of 1257 Pearleman Teague Road, Siler City died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Chatham Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Loves Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Helms officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Andrew was a native of Chatham County, a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's #3 Sunday School Class, a former deacon and a member of the cemetery committee. He was a clerk of the Sandy Creek Baptist Association. He retired from Siler City Mills and was preceded in death by a son, Albert Wayne Andrew.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Phillips Andrew of the home; sisters, Erma A. Richardson of Graham, Malda A. Davis of Siler City; granddaughters, Angie A. McCoy and husband, Mike of Siler City, Tonya A. Moore and husband, Dexter of Bear Creek; great-grandchildren, Victoria Moore, Matthew Andrew, Rebecca Moore, Seth McCoy, and Ricky Moore.

VERONICA SUSAN MASHBURN O’QUINN
Veronica Susan Mashburn O’Quinn, 33, of Sanford, died Sunday (07-17-2005), at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday (07-21-2005) at Carbonton United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dale Sauls and Rev. Pearl Castleberry, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. O’Quinn was born in Germany.
Survivors include her husband, Michael O’Quinn of the home; sons, Justin Mashburn, Thomas Michael O’Quinn, III, both of the home; daughters, Erica Powers, Makala O’Quinn, Aliyah O’Quinn, all of the home; mother, Shelia H. Mashburn of Carbonton; father and stepmother, Lewis and Linda G. Mashburn of Sanford; brother, Alan Mashburn of Sanford; sisters, Cindy Shay, Leslie Mashburn, Christa Mashburn, all of Sanford; and paternal grandparents, John and Wanaga Marshburn of Carbonton.

MARVIN LOPOSSAY, JR.
Marvin Lopossay, Jr., 61, of Siler City died Tuesday, (07-19-2005) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Graveside services and burial were held at 2 p.m. Friday, (07-22-2005) at Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City, with Rev. Jack Kivett, officiating.
Mr. Lopossay was a native of Chatham County, a retired truck driver, and of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his mother, Virginia Shuskey Lopossay of Bear Creek; son, Anthony D. Lopossay of R;ichlands, daughters, Kimberly L. Brewer of Asheboro, Tasha L. Lopossay of Siler City, Tonya C. Lopossay of Level Cross, Sonya D. Lopossay of Chesnee, S.C.; sisters, Fannie Burke, Doris Lopossay, both of Bear Creek; and four grandchildren.
LOUISE POPE COOPER
Louise Pope Cooper, 87, of Siler City died Wednesday, (07-20-2005) at the home of her sister.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Saturday (07-23-2005) at Oakley Baptist Church with Rev. J. R. Bouldin officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was a native of Chatham County and a member of Oakley Baptist Church. She was retired from A. J. Schneierson and Sons, and was a waitress at Dry Dock Seafood Restaurant for many years.
She is survived by her twin- sister, Lucille P. Thompson, of Bear Creek.

STEPHEN ANDREW LASK
Stephen Andrew Lask, 80, of Siler City died Friday, (07-22-2005) at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Funeral mass was held at 12 p.m. on Monday, (07-25-2005) at St. Julia Catholic Parrish, Siler City with Father Michael Lorentsen, OFM-CONV officiating. Burial followed in Chatham Memorial Park.
Mr. Lask was a native of Manhattan, N.Y. and a member of St. Julia Catholic Parrish. He was a retired businessman and a WW II Coast Guard veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa G. Lask of Siler City; sons, Andrew J. Lask of Granite Springs, N.Y., Stephen G. Lask of Durham, Gregory M. Lask of Siler City; daughters, Deborah M. Schinbeckler of Fairfax Station, Va., Lisann M. Lash of Cary; and twenty grandchildren.

CHARLIE BENTON FULK, SR.
Charlie Benton Fulk, Sr., 73, of Siler City died Friday, (07-22-2005) at Chatham Hospital.
Mr. Fulk was a native of Guilford County and retired from Ram Tex. He was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church, Greensboro, and a member of the Raleigh American Legion Post, #1981.
Survivors include daughters, Thersa Wynell Spencer of Greensboro, Wanda Gaill Wiley of Maine, Cynthia Marie Shelton of Kernersville; son, Charlie B. Fulk, Jr. of Kernersville; and fourteen grandchildren
MARGIE LEE COLE SPIVEY
Margie Lee Cole Spivey, 79, of Sanford died Saturday, (07-23-2005) at the Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday (07-25-2005) at Center United Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Spivey was born in Lee County and was a member of the Hanks Chapel Christian Church. She worked at Cornell Dubileer in Sanford, Kaiser Roth in Pittsboro, and retired from UNC as a Librarian.
Survivors include daughters, Janet S. Miller of Council, Sandra Womble of Pittsboro; son, David Spivey of Sanford, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
SALLY SEAWELL WILLETT
Sally Seawell Willett, 81, of Bear Creek died Monday, (07-18-2005) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, (07-21-2005) with Rev. Robert Capps, Rev. Val Chadwick and Rev. David Martin, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery
Mrs. Willett was a native of Moore County, a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church and a retired supervisor with Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mill, Goldston.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda W. Martin and husband Donnie of Pittsboro; and a brother, George Seawell of Danville, Va.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, (07-20-2005) from 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City.

MR. BENNIE MARSH
Mr. Bennie Marsh, 93, of Pittsboro died Tuesday, (03-08-2005) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Saturday, (03-12-2005) at Evans chapel AME Zion Church, Siler City with Dr. J. C. White officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Lenoy Alston, Durham, Nellie Crawford, Washington, DC, Irma L. Marsh, Frances S. Vittano, Mary L. Marsh, all of New York, sons, Jerry L. Marsh, Joseph Marsh of New York; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
VIRGIL HARRIS
Virgil Harris, 77, of Siler City died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3631 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City, with Rev. Lamont Hemminger officiating.
Mr. Harris was a native of Chatham County and a cattle farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Goswick Harris of Siler City; aunts, Maude Kimrey, Mary Ray, Jewel Harris, all of Siler City; numerous cousins; special cousin, Darrell Harris of Siler City; step-daughters, Renee McDonald, Burlington, Rhonda Lewis, Haw River, Darlene Pate, Siler City; and two step-grandchildren.
Visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City.
INEZ WEBSTER MANN
Inez Webster Mann, 85, of Pittsboro died at her home Wednesday morning, March 9, 2005.
A native of Chatham County, she was very active in community affairs, a member of Orange Chapel United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Mann.
A funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2005 at Orange Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Patricia S. Sykes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Juanita McIver of Bear Creek and Glenda Fay Baity and her husband Darold of Winston Salem; two sons, William F. Mann and his wife Carolyn of Chapel Hill and Raymond Mann and his wife Martha of Pittsboro; one sister, Ida W. Sink of Burlington; ten grandchildren, Kenneth and Allen McIver, Cyndi Comito, David, Darold and Dean Baity, Raye and Paul Mann and Michael and Leslie Mann Parker and eleven great-grandchildren.
ELIZABETH BLAIR BURGESS
Elizabeth Blair Burgess, 92, died Thursday, March 10, 2005 in Raleigh at Springmoor Retirement Community where she had lived since 1986.
Elizabeth was born November 8, 1912 in Chatham County to George Walker Blair and Audrey Womble Blair. She grew up in Pittsboro and was an active member of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church. Following her graduation from Pittsboro High School in 1929, she attended Louisburg College and the University of Virginia.
For many years she lived and worked in Raleigh with the North Carolina State Government. She also worked later in the Athletic Office of The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During World War II she was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
She also lived in Pittsboro, Wilson, Roseboro and Litchfield Beach, S.C. and was the widow of Colonel Joseph P. Halliday. On March 1, 1958, she married William Roderick Burgess of Roseboro. Their wedding was held in the Pittsboro United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased in death by her sister Audrey Blair, her husband, Rod Burgess and a brother, Henry Kime Blair.
Surviving are her brother, Dr. Walker Blair and wife, Mary Helen of Burlington; sister, Adelaide Farmer and husband, Kenneth of Greensboro; step-sons, William R. Burgess, Jr and wife Noi of Puyallup, Washington and Scott Burgess and wife Gail of Fayetteville; and grandson Chris.
She leaves many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great, great niece.
funeral service was held at the Pittsboro United Methodist Church at 4 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2005 with the Pastor Rev. Jack Page and Rev. Ray Gooch officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
