BRONNA BLALOCK WILLIAMS
Bronna Blalock Williams, 93, of Sophia died Wednesday, (09-14-2005) at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center in Trinity.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 am Friday, (09-16-2005) at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial followed in Loves Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams was a native and long-time resident of Chatham County. She was of the Methodist faith and a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, William Carl Dunlap of Sophia, C.B. Dunlap of FL, Joe Dunlap of Speedwell, VA; daughter, Juanita Joyner of High Point; sister, Grace Edwards of Winston-Salem; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
ANDREW JACKSON (JACK) SILER
Andrew Jackson (Jack) Siler of Siler City died Sunday (08-28-2005) at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, (09-01-2005) at Lambert Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. William Harrington officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Siler was a native of Randolph County and a retired farmer.
Survivors include a sister, Ava Mae Siler of the home; brothers, Floyd Howard Siler of High Point, James C. Siler of Siler City, and Lester Siler of Coleridge.
BERTHA “BERT” DAWKINS TAYLOR
Bertha “Bert” Dawkins Taylor, 76, of Sanford died Thursday, (09-15-2005) at her residence.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, (09-17-2005) at Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Gary McCollough officiating.
Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Lee County and a graduate of Deep River High School.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert Perry Taylor, Jr. of Deep River, Robert Larry Taylor of Buford, Ga.; daughter, Linda T. Huston of Beaufort; brother, Dan Dawkins of Sanford; sister, Evlyeen D. Luck of Deep River; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
ARZELIA BROOKS CROSS
Arzelia Brooks Cross, 58, of Bear Creek died Sunday, (09-11-2005) at Laurels of Chatham.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, (09-14-2005) at Mitchell Chapel Church in Pittsboro, with Rev. Kenneth Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cross attended Chatham County Schools and graduated from Horton High School. She was a member of Mitchell Chapel Church.
Survivors include here husband, George Cross of the home; daughter, Michelle Grant of Pittsboro; sisters, Myrtle Rogers of Pittsboro, Lucille Goldston of Siler City; brothers, Vernon Brooks of Pittsboro, James Brooks of Yanceyville; and one grandchild.
ANNIE LOIS EDWARDS
Annie Lois Edwards, 80, of Greensboro died Monday (09-19-2005) at Evergreens Senior Health Care Systems in Greensboro.
Graveside services and burial were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, (09-21-2005) at Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bear Creek.
Miss Edwards was a native of Chatham County, retired after 43 years service with Burlington Industries in the accounting department, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensboro.
Survivors include a sister, Louise Patton of Cary.

BETTY K. COX
Betty Kivett Cox, 81, of Ramseur died Sunday, (09-18-2005) at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, (09-22-2005) at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Griffin and Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Cox was a native of Chatham County, retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wayman “WH” Cox, of the residence; sons, Dannie L. Cox, Louis R. Cox, both of Ramseur; brothers, Harold Kivett of Siler City, Hamp Kivett of Bennett; sister, Goldie Kivett of Siler City; one granddaughter and two great-grandsons.

W. LYNN SAUNDERS
Walter Lynn Saunders, 76 of Ramseur, died Sunday, (09-18-2005) at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, (09-21-2005) at Bennett Baptist Church with Re. Tim Strider officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Saunders was a native of Randolph County, a retired farmer and a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Jones Saunders, of the home; son, Tommy Saunders; daughter, Lynda Fogarty; mother, Roxie Cain Saunders, brother, Boyd Saunders; sister, Wilma Beck, all of Ramseur; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

LAWRENCE CAMPBELL "LARRY" CROSS
Lawrence Campbell "Larry" Cross, 67 of Moncure died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2005 at Buckhorn United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Cross was a native of Wake County, son the late Fred Lawrence Cross and Mary Lorena "Marene" Campbell Cross. He was vice president of sales for Clark International Mfg. of Forestry and heavy construction equipment, as well as Timberjack and Orix. He served with Seabees with the Naval Reserve. He was a member of the Buckhorn Methodist Church, baptized in 1947 and served on various committees. He was a member of the Moncure Lions Club and a graduate of Benhaven High School, graduate of NC State University with a degree in Forestry Management.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wrinkle Caylor Cross of the home; sons, Richard C. Cross and wife, Marie of Marietta, Ga., John Lawrence Cross of Aurora, Co.; daughter, Lorey Lynn Cross and husband, Kamel Farraj of Kuwait; stepson, Raymond B. Caylor and wife Susan of Cleveland, Tn; stepdaughters, Raylena Caylor Embry and husband David of Cleveland, Tn., Merrill Caylor Beaton and husband, Dennis of Madison, Al., Laureen Caylor Green and husband Gary of Apison, Tn.; fifteen grandchildren; special cousins, Winifred "Winnie" Cousins Smith of Corinth, William Cousins of Franklin, Va.; and numerous aunts and cousins.

MARGUERITE ANN BRADY
Marguerite Ann Brady, 91, of Carthage died Saturday (09-10-2005) at Pinelake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Carthage.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, (09-13-2005) at Fair Promise United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Buckingham officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Ms. Brady was a native of Moore County. She graduated from Elise Academy in Robbins, and was a former employee of Brewer’s Laundry in Siler City.
Survivors include sisters, Ila Mae Dorsett of Greensboro and Elizabeth Terry of Siler City.

EDNA R. PHILLIPS
Edna Robinson Phillips, 96, of Siler City, died Friday, (09-09-2005) at her residence.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, (09-12-2005) at Deep River Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Joe Brady officiating.
Mrs. Phillips was a native of Guilford County, retired from Enterprise Mill and attended the Deep River Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Lacy L. Phillips of High Falls; daughter, Frankie Lee Hunter of Asheboro; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

ANNE KATHERINE "KATHY" LUCAS
Anne Katherine "Kathy" Lucas, 36, of Goldston died Friday, September 9, 2005.
Funeral services were conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2005 at Goldston United Methodist Church with Rev. Judy Drye and Rev. Susan Cafferty officiating. Burial followed in Goldston Cemetery.
Ms. Lucas was a native of Chatham County, and a member of Goldston United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Thurman "Butch" Lucas.
Survivors include her mother, Suzi L. Miller and step-father, Jack Miller, both of Goldston; sons, Seth and Nicholas; daughter, Olivia; sister, Michelle L. Hancock and husband, Josh of Burlington; nieces, Abbey and Kinsey; aunts, Barbara Hobby and husband, Buddy of Fuquay-Varina, Carolyn Lucas of Boiling Springs Lake, Terri Layton of Portland, Or.; and uncle, Eddie Lucas of Garner.

SAMUEL FRANKLIN KEY, III, "SAMMY"
Sammy Franklin Key, III, "Sammy", 57, of Beaufort, passed away Monday, September 12, 2005 at his home.
Born November 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Samuel Franklin "Frank" Key and Virginia O. Key, formerly of Morehead City and Wilmington. Mr. Key was a retired employee of the Carteret County School System, Maintenance Department. He was a veteran and served in the Viet Nam War.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Sammy is survived by a sister, Nancy K. Carroll Monfalcone and husband Vincent of Morehead City; brother, William R. Freeman and wife Phyllis of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
REV. TRACY L. RITTER
Rev. Tracy L. Ritter, 64, of Star, died Tuesday, (08-30-2005) at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, (09-02-2005) at Shady Grove Christian Church, with Rev. Mike Holyfield officiating. Burial followed in Providence Chapel Church Cemetery.
Rev. Ritter was a native of Moore County and a minister, having pastored Shady Grove Christian Church for 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Garner Ritter of the home, son, Randy Lee Ritter of Star; parents, Rev. Hayes and Gladys Hussey Ritter of Robbins; sister Linda Sue Luck of Goldsboro; brothers, Russell Ritter of Robbins, Benjamin Ritter of Ramseur; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
