BETTY LOU FEASTER
Miss Betty Lou Feaster, 65, of Siler City died Sunday, (11-06-2005) at Chatham Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, (11-11-2005) at Gees Grove AME Zion Church with Rev. Allen Moore officiating.
Miss Feaster, a graduate of Chatham High School was employed by Mid-State Poultry and was a member of Gees Grove AME Zion Church.
Survivors include a son, Antiona Melvin Feaster of the home; brothers, Monroe Feaster of Siler City and Earnest Ray Feaster of Sanford.
WADE BRAY
James Wade Bray, 76, of Bennett died Friday, (09-30-2005) at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, (10-03-2005) at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Rev. Terry Warren and Rev. Hayes Ritter officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bray was a native of Randolph County, retired from Chatham County Schools and a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church where he served on the cemetery committee.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Caviness Bray of the home; son, Kenneth Bray of Bennet; daughter, Lois Ann Warren, of Bennett; brother, Rev. Winfred Bray of Elon College; and two grandchildren.

EDDIE LEWIS ROBERTSON
Eddie Lewis Robertson, 50, of Pittsboro died Saturday (09-24-2005) at his home.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Friday, (09-30-2005) at Centennial AME Zion Church at Bear Creek with Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Robertson was a native of Chatham County, where he attended public school. He was employed at the U.S. Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara McQueen of the home; step-father, Edward Alston of Pittsboro; father, James Robertson; wife, Gail Robertson of Philadelphia, PA.; daughter, Aja Willie of Adilene, TX.; son, Eddie Robertson, Jr. of Durham; three grandchildren; brother, Eric Murdock of Pittsboro; sisters, Cynthia Terry, Panama City, FL., Vaiencia McQueen, Durham, Darlene Robertson, and Jalissa Robertson, both of Philadelphia, PA
MARJORIE BROWER BUTLER
Marjorie Brower Butler, 87 of 1510 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Graveside services and burial were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ramseur, with David Christy officiating.
Mrs. Butler was a native of Randolph County where she was born August 12, 1918, daughter of the late Clay C. Brower and Sallie Brown Brower and was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James M. Butler, a prominent Greensboro contractor. Mrs. Butler resided most of her adult life in Greensboro, however for the last nine years, made her home with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy (Tim) D. Butler. She was a homemaker, a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Guilford Chapter No. 141 and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Guilford Chapter No. 301. She was a member of the Randolph County Historical and Genealogical Societies.
Survivors include sons, James R. (Rod) Butler and wife, Gail Henderson Butler of Morehead City, Timothy (Tim) D. Butler and wife, Paulette Goforth Butler of Cary; sisters, Inez B. Clark Howard of Greensboro, Faedene B. Jones, Betty Jean B. Lewis and husband, John, all of Asheboro, Sara A. Brower, Springfield, VA., Ellen Brower Maki of Navarre, FL.; grandchildren, James Rustin (Rusty) Butler of Middle River, MD., and Bruce Alan Butler and wife, Lara Field Butler of Wendell, Laura Katherine Butler of Cary; great-grandchildren, Kole Nathaniel Butler, Joshua Alexander Butler, both of Wendell; and sister-in-law, Mildred A. Smith, Sellersville, PA.

EDITH H. OATES
Edith Hayes Oates, 88, of Siler City died Tuesday (09-20-2005) at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, (09-23-2005) at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, with Rev. Thurman Williams officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Oates was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker, and member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
Survivors include sons, Charles Oates of Greensboro, Robert E. Oates of Asheboro; daughters, Judy C. Fox of Asheboro, Jean Clark of Carthage; sister, Mary Frazier of Staley; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grand-children.

BILLY STEVE WHITE
Billy Steve White, 63, of Bear Creek died Thursday, (09-22-2005) at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, (09-25-2005) at Edward Hill Friends Meeting, Siler City with Rev. Allen Bullard and Rev. Josh Conrad, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. White was a native of Chatham County and a member of Edward Hill Friends where he served on the cemetery committee. He was a member of Chatham County Cattleman’s Association.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Deaton White of Bear Creek; son, Stephen Todd White, Charles Bradley White, both of Bennett; sister, Shirley White McKeithan of Bear Creek; and four grandchildren.

ETHELENE LEONARD KIDD
Mrs. Ethelene Leonard Kidd, 76, died Thursday, (09-22-2005) at Manor Care in Pinehurst.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at High Falls United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Buckingham, Rev. Harold Baker, Rev. Robert Kidd, and Rev. Gerald Hussey officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kidd was a former resident of High Falls and a member of High Falls United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Gaylene K. Hussey of Seagrove; brother, Cleo Leonard of Bennett; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
RUTH H. MATTHEWS GAINES
Mrs. Ruth H. Matthews Gaines, 90, of Goldston died Saturday, (09-24-2005) at her home.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Monday, (09-26-2005) at Goldston United Methodist Church with Rev. Judy Drye and Rev. Vernon Tyson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Gaines was a native of Lee County. She was past president of the Goldston Woman’s Club and served as pianist for many years at Goldston United Methodist Church, and Farmville Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include sons, B.G. Gaines, Jr., Bobby Ray Gaines, both of Sanford, Don Matthews Gaines of Cameron; sister, Marjorie M. Williams of Pittsboro; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

DOUGLAS ROSS TALCOTT
Douglas Ross Talcott was born April 12, 1918 in Parma, Ohio and died at home near Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Sunday, September 25, 2005.
He was married to Esther Faye Jordan in Austin, TX, December 6, 1944.
Doug graduated from Cleveland State University and earned a M.A. in experimental psychology from The State University of Iowa and a Ph. D. in personnel psychology from the University of Houston.
In World War II, he served in an Army hospital unit. The unit was at the Battle of the Bulge and the later occupation in Germany.
After military duty, he worked 29 years as a civilian for the Air Force specializing in the human factors of the design of military aircraft.
In his retirement years in North Carolina, he served as president of his United Methodist Men's organization. He volunteered service for the Lifeline program at U.N.C. Hospital, student mentoring in a Pittsboro school, and the Chatham County Solid Waste Management Task Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Henry Talcott, Jr. and Ada Ethel Payne Talcott, and older brother, Norris Ellsworth Talcott.
Doug is survived by his wife, Esther; their four children, Virginia Talcott Faust of Carrboro, Dale Randolph Talcott of Santa Clara, CA.; James Craig Talcott of Beavercreek, OH., and David Clark Talcott of Indianapolis, IN.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jon Douglas Talcott, Eric Scott Talcott, Michael Ueng, Christopher Matthew Talcott, Stephen Ueng, Wayne Douglas Faust, and Elizabeth Ann Talcott.
A memorial service will be held at University United Methodist Church, 150 East Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27514, at 2 p.m.Thursday, September 29, 2005.
The family suggests that, for those who wish, a donation be made in his memory, in lieu of flowers, to the InterFaith Council Shelter for the Homeless, 100 West Rosemary, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

GRACE FOUST HARGROVE
Grace Foust Hargrove, 80, of 1953 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, Siler City died Monday, September 26, 2005 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Plainfield Friends Meeting, 1956 Plainfield Church Road, Siler City, with Will Carter officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hargrove was a native of Randolph County and retired from A. J. Schneierson & Sons. She was a member of Plainfield Friends Meeting, the Ellen Payne Missionary Society and the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She served as past treasurer of the cemetery fund. Her husband, Simon J. Hargrove preceded her in death.
Survivors include son, Larry Hargrove and wife Glennett of the home; daughter, Gwen H. Headen and husband Ned of Siler City; grandchildren, Steven Headen, Karen Potter and husband, Joel, John Will Headen and wife Tisha, all of Siler City; great-grandchildren, Cole Morris, Haley Morris, Avery Grace Headen, and Jackson Headen.

DAVID ROY PHILLIPS
David Roy Phillips, 58, of 4212 Orange Grove Road, Hillsborough, died Thursday, September 22, 2005 from injuries sustained in a construction accident.
Mr. Phillips was born in Durham County, son of Mary Rosalie Sykes Miller, who survives, and the late George Bryan Phillips. He attended Orange City School and was a Vietnam veteran of the Marine Corp., life member of the V.F.W., Post 8405, member of Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church, and employed with Chandler Concrete of Hillsborough.
Surviving are his wife, Darnell Latta Phillips of the home; son, Michael D. Phillips and wife, Wendy of Pittsboro; daughter, Jennifer P. Oliver and husband, Scott of Elon; step-father, Bobby Miller of Hillsborough; brother, Quentin Phillips and wife, Nell of Mebane; sister, Linda P. Miller and husband, W.H. of Hillsborough; grandchildren, Dylan Phillips, Haley Phillips, Cody Oliver, and Tanner Oliver.
funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church by Preacher David Bolick. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
