Nancy E. Brooks, 73, of Siler City died Wednesday, (08-11-2004) at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, (08-14-2004) at Jordan Grove A.M.E. Zion Church with Gene Horton officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks was a native of Chatham County and a member of Jordan Grove A.M.E. Zion Church where she was a Deaconess, a member of the Usher Board, the Senior Choir and the Harmonetts.
Survivors include her husband, Fletcher Brooks; son, Jennings Brooks of Greensboro; daughter, Helen Handon of Suitland, Md; sisters, Evelyn Glover of Siler City and Maxine Bakeman of Greensboro.
MRS. CHUN-CHA KNIGHT
Mrs. Chun-Cha Knight, 68, of Sunbridge Nursing Center, formerly of Pittsboro, died Friday, (08-20-2004), at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.
She was retired from Townsend Poultry.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday (08-24-2004) at Griffin funeral service and Cremation in Pittsboro. Interment followed in Chatham Memorial Park in Siler City.
Mrs. Knight leaves no immediate survivors.
MS. NELLIE JANE MARSH
Ms. Nellie (Janie) Marsh, 68, of Bear Creek died Tuesday (08-17-2004) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday (08-22-2004) at Centennial AME Zion Church, Bear Creek with Rev. Oscar Rush officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She was a graduate of J.S. Waters School in Goldston and a member of Centennial AME Zion Church.
Ms. Marsh is survived by brothers, McKinley and Robert Marsh, both of the home; and foster son, Robert Neal Marsh of Raeford.
MRS. MYRTLE WILLIAMS CAVINESS
Mrs. Myrtle Williams Caviness, 91, of Robbins died Thursday, (08-19-2004) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral services were held Sunday, (08-22-2004) at 3:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Stacy Layne officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Caviness was a Moore County native, attended Beulah Baptist Church and retired from the Milikan Company in Robbins.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Clarice Cheek and Mrs. Catherine Brown, both of Robbins; three grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
OLLIE FIELDS RIDDLE
Ollie Fields Riddle, 85, died Monday, (08-23-2004) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Graveside services will be held Thursday (08-26-2004) at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Goldston with Rev. Don Daniel and Rev. Billy Joe Brady, officiating.
Mrs. Riddle was a native of Chatham County, a homemaker and member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Linda R. Ellington of Pittsboro, Janice R. Warren of Bonlee; sons, James Roy Riddle of Pittsboro, Raymond Clinton Riddle and John Charles Riddle, both of Siler City; sisters, Mary Ruth Graves of Siler City, Lucy Ann Wall of Goldston; brother, Calvin Lewis Fields of Goldston; fifteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, (08-25-2004) at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the home of Raymond Riddle, 1860 Edward Hill Church Road, Siler City.
THERON AUSTIN WILLETTE
Theron Austin Willette, 80, of Martinsville, Va., died Monday (08-23-2004) at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville.
Graveside service will be held Thursday (08-26-2004) at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Gary Edwards officiating.
The family will be receiving friends at the residence.
Mr. Willette was a native of Siler City, a District Manager for Southland Life Insurance Company and was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include daughters, Debra W. Buchanan of Matthews, Linda W. Grover of Gulfport, Ms.; sisters, Betty Jean Caviness of Portsmouth, Va., Ruby Andrews of Siler City, Virginia Coley of Jamestown; and two grandchildren.

R.C. (CLIFFORD) CARTER
Mr. R. C. (Clifford) Carter, 100, of Liberty died Wednesday, (08-18-2004) at Sunbridge Health Care in Siler City.
funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, (08-20-2004) at PleasHill Christian Church with Rev. Howard Spray officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Carter was a native of Alamance County and a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church where he served as treasurer for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Doris Daniels of Liberty; son, Bobby Carter of Liberty; sister, Mrs. Polly Ashley of Snow Camp; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
