Landis, NC - Mr. Jack Eugene Lowder, 76, of 1203 S. Zion Street, Landis, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Norman Brisson will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Friday, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born January 16, 1931, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Pearl Lee Lowder and Ethel Overcash Lowder. He retired from the US Post Office in Landis and later worked for the Cabarrus County Tax Assessor's office. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a former member of Poston Perkins VFW Post 8989. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis and previously was a member of Cannon Memorial Masonic Lodge and the Cabarrus County Shrine Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Lee Lowder.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Elwood Lowder; two sons, Jeffrey E. Lowder and Mark D. Lowder, both of the home; a sister, Vivian Lowder Rogers of Kannapolis; one brother, Robert E. Lowder and wife, Carolyn, of Concord; and several nieces and nephews.

Wade Reid

Kannapolis, NC - Mr. Wade Reid, 66, of 2161 Dartwood Drive, Concord, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Marler Starnes will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born May 3, 1941, in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late George W. Reid and Maggie Benfield Reid. He was retired from Acme Petroleum in Gastonia.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sellers Reid; two sons, Mark Reid and wife, Sherry, Brian Reid and wife, Taylor, both of Harrisburg; two sisters, Mabel Pittman and husband, Ron, of Charlotte, Faye Hollifield of Spruce Pine; three brothers, Bruce Reid and wife, Kim, of Dallas, Ray Reid and wife, Barbara, Jerry Reid and wife, Arthelia, both of Bakersville; and four grandchildren, Justin Reid, Matthew Reid, Parker Reid and McKenzie Sheppard.

Curtis Vestol Cooke, Jr.

Kannapolis, NC - Mr. Curtis Vestol Cooke, Jr., 79, a born again Christian, died Monday, June 11, 2007 at NorthEast Medical Center.
Mr. Cooke was born July 2, 1927 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late, Curtis V. Cook, Sr. and Bessie Jeanette Edwards Cooke. A graduate of Winecoff School, he was a heavy equipment operator with Blythe Construction Company, where he retired in 1991. During World War II, he served in the US Navy. He enjoyed horticulture and birds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Mae Lee Cooke.
Mr. Cooke is survived by a son, Curtis V. “Tony” Cooke III of Kannapolis; a daughter, Janet Cooke Burnsed of Cross Hill, SC; one sister, Geraldine Cooke Booth of Kannapolis; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a close friend and companion, Liz Clay.
Fannie Fowler Carter

Kannapolis, NC - Mrs. Fannie Fowler Carter, 92, of Big Elm Nursing Home and formerly of Temple Street in Kannapolis, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Big Elm Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007; at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Barnhill, Karen Barnhill and Ralph Adams officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carter was born Nov. 20, 1914, in Franklin County, Ga., a daughter of the late William Lee Fowler and Estie Jordan Fowler. She was preceded in death also by her husband, William Cecil Carter; and four brothers, Edward Fowler, William Fowler, Jessie Lee Fowler and Alfred Fowler. Mrs. Carter attended Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church and was employed by Cannon Mills for 43 years.
Survivors include five sisters: Joyce Parson of Concord; Virginia Stickler of Salisbury; Venetia Steele and Vera Allene Smith, both of Kannapolis; and Irelle Wilkinson of Mooresville.
Jerome Wayne Teal

Kannapolis, NC - Mr. Jerome Wayne Teal, 60, of Brentwood Circle, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Teal will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Lady’s Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Teal was born in Cabarrus County, May 14, 1947, a son of the late Ernest E. Teal and Myrtle Cribb Teal. He was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and was the owner and operator of the TV Workshop in Kannapolis. He served in the US Air Force in Greece during the Vietnam conflict.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Teal.
Mr. Teal is survived by his wife, Sue Jones Teal; a son, Jonathan David Teal and his wife, Natalie of Kannapolis; a daughter, Lesley Duckworth and husband, Tony of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Haley Buder, Katie Standish and Chandler Teal. Also surviving are three sisters, Wanda Knight of Salisbury, Emily Coone of Kannapolis, Judy Helms of China Grove; and a brother, Earnest “Pete” Teal of China Grove.
Rhoda Dale Price

Kannapolis, NC - Mrs. Rhoda Dale Williford Price, 44, of 816 Skyland Street, Kannapolis, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born September 26, 1962, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Williford and Ruth Burgess Christy. She attended Cabarrus County schools and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Ronny James Price, Sr.; two daughters, Jennifer Gail Price of Kannapolis, Stephanie Dawn Price of the home; a son, Ronny James Price, Jr. of the home; six sisters, Sally Ann Lewis of Williamsburg, KY, Janet R. Wietbrock of Salisbury, Peggy Ruth Fink of Florida, Sandy Gail Cooke of Cameron, Bonnie L. Lewis of Corbin, KY, Donna Lee Christy of West Virginia; and a brother, William Franklin Marks of Spring Lake.
Boyd Franklin Wagoner

Kannapolis, NC - Mr. Boyd Franklin Wagoner, 81, of 515 Evelyn Avenue, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Tom Parrish and the Rev. David Parrish will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born December 4, 1925, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Pink James Wagoner and Martha Ervin Wagoner. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for many years with Service Distributing and later for Propst Brothers Distributors. He was a member of Elwood Lane Free Will Baptist Church. Boyd was known for his love for music. He formed Boyd Wagoner and the Black Mountain Boys, and the group was heard on radio stations for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Funderburk Wagoner; a son, Jerry Wagoner and wife, Linda, of Salisbury; a daughter, Pattie Edmiston and husband, Rock, of Kannapolis; four sisters, Louise Bost, Mary Linker, Ruby Wagoner and Betty Wingler, all of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Leslie Roscoe and husband, Adam of Enochville, Travis Edmiston and wife, Crystal, of Kannapolis; a step-grandson, Brent Dowell and wife, Audra, of Columbia, SC; and five great-grandchildren, Justin Hurst, Victoria Edmiston, Jaclyn Edmiston, Ashleigh Edmiston and Alisha Edmiston.
Mabel Bernice Sikes

Kannapolis, NC - Mrs. Mabel Bernice Ballard Sikes, 84, a resident of Big Elm Nursing Center, and formerly of S. Main Street, Kannapolis, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at the nursing facility.
Graveside services with interment to follow will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2007, at Carolina Memorial Park. Dr. Tom Cabaniss will officiate. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.
Born October 31, 1922, in Richmond County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar T. Ballard and Bernice Green Ballard. She retired several years ago from Cannon Mills. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the King's Daughters Sunday School Class.
Her husband, William Leonard Sikes, preceded her in death in 1972.
Survivors include a sister Mary B. Ross of Kannapolis; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Irene Eubanks Collins

Concord, NC - Mrs. Irene Eubanks Collins, 70, of 1108 Ridgewood Drive, Concord, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Dr. Abraham Kim, the Rev. Karen Kaser Odor and the Rev. Charles Guy will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born April 4, 1937, in Davie County, she was the daughter of the late John Barnes and Lillie McIntyre Barnes. She retired from the Deli Department of Harris Teeter, where she had worked at the Cloverleaf store in Concord and the Harris Boulevard/Mallard Creek Road store in Charlotte. She was a member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Baxter Neal Eubanks; a son, Alan Keith Eubanks; and two sisters, Florence Trexler and Ann Cranfield.
Survivors include her husband, John P. Collins; two daughters, Tammie Eubanks Morgan and husband, Ronnie, of Locust, Amanda Eubanks Rogers and husband, Brandon, of Concord; son, Dennis Neal Eubanks of Greenville, TX; step-daughter, LeaAnn Amerson of Rockwell; step-son, John G. Collins of Rockwell; three sisters, Louise Blackwood of Cooleemee, Margie Lowery and Maggie Hutchins, both of Mocksville; seven grandchildren, Jessica Morgan, Nicholas Morgan, Lily Eubanks, Makayla Rogers, Benjamin Rogers, Elijah Rogers and Ava Rogers; two step-grandchildren, Kristina Amerson and Nate Amerson; and her mother-in-law, Winnie Eubanks of Kannapolis.

Funeral services will be conducted at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Richard Rhodes and Dr. Hoke Ritchie will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sides was born in Rowan County on September 25, 1933, a daughter of the late George H. Lentz and Vera Hewitt Lentz. She was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church and retired from the Kannapolis City Schools.
Survivors include her husband, Martin Ray Sides; a son, Michael Sides and his wife, Jill of Kannapolis; a brother, George Ray Lentz, Sr. of Elon College; and two grandchildren, Justin and Emily Sides.
