Wilhelm, Ruth Trexler
CHINA GROVE -- Mrs. Ruth Trexler Wilhelm, 68, of Chesapeake, VA and a native of China Grove, died April 30, 2001. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home of China Grove is in charge.
Roebuck, Ms. Willie Simmons
Ms. Willie Simmons Roebuck, affectionately known as `Pearl`, succumbed on April 27, 2001 in Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of the late Jimmie and Mercedes Simmons.
She relocated to Charlotte from Florida, and was employed at CATO Distributors and Bi-Lo Grocery where she was a supervisor. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Johnnie Lee Simmons.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sons, Juan V. Simmons, Terrance Simmons (Ashley), her daughters, Brenda Diane Simmons-Watson, Cheri Dionne Roebuck, and her adopted daughter, Shirley Imbergamo. She also leaves to mourn her loss, 7 brothers, 6 sisters, 8 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, May 2nd, in the Family Mortuary Chapel, 2310 Statesville Avenue. Visitation will begin at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5th at 1 PM at Innovation Baptist Church in Tallahassee Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to The Willie Pearl Simmons-Roebuck Fund, Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.

McGee, Lucy Prather
BELMONT -- Mrs. Lucy Prather McGee, 83, died Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Brithaven Nursing Center, Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of the late John T. and Edith Carver Prather.
She is survived by brothers, Ralph, Fletcher and Paul Prather, all of California, and George and Clifford Jones of South Carolina; and sisters, Ruth Finger of California and Doris Radis of Marion, NC; along with various nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.

Waters, Frances Carol
SHERRILS FORD -- Mrs. Frances Carol Waters, age 59, of 6702 Lineberger Road, died Saturday, April 28, 2001. Her funeral will be 11am Tuesday, at Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte. The family received friends on Monday evening.
Mrs. Waters was born on December 28, 1941 in Mecklenburg County, and was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernice Lowery Riley. She worked as a cashier.
Survivors include her husband, Don Waters of the home; daughters, Melinda Waters Cook of Greensboro, NC, Robin Lopez of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Bill Riley of Lincolnton, NC, Rev. J. Larry Riley of Atlanta, GA, Michael Riley and Joe Riley, both of Greenville, NC; sisters, Joann Skipper, Nancy Seagraves and Helen Griggs, all of Lincolnton, NC, Dolly Ellis of Charlotte, NC, Joyce McMillion of Denver, NC, and Marilyn Lee of Greenville, SC; and three grandchildren.

Smoluk, Peter Anthony
MONROE -- Mr. Peter Anthony Smoluk, 76, died April 28, 2001. Funeral is in St. George's Catholic Church, interment in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, in Philadelphia, PA. Gordon funeral service is caring for the Smoluk family.
Pistole, Mary Kale
Mary Kale Pistole, age 77, a lifelong resident of Charlotte, died Sunday, April 29, 2001 at Lakeview Living Center. She is the daughter of the late Zeffie Edward and Mattie Wise Kale.
Mary was the manager of Dilworth Florist for fifteen years, was a charter member of Mulberry Baptist Church, and volunteered in the church nursery for 30 years.
Funeral Services will be held 11am Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Mulberry Baptist Church Worship Center, Dr. Mike Womack officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until time of service in the church parlor. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Mason Pistole, Jr. and his wife, Diana of Chester, SC, Louise Pistole Proctor and her husband, Douglas of Mint Hill, NC, Susan Pistole Bradshaw and her husband, Larry of Charlotte; and five grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bruce Mason Pistole, Sr., and brother, Lewis Edward Kale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mulberry Baptist Church Nursery.

Heyman, Margaret White
CHESTER -- Mrs. Margaret White Heyman, was born in Chester County, SC, the daughter of Mrs. Lillian S. White and the late Mr. Moses A. White. She died Friday, April 27, 2001 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.
She and the late Elmer Heyman, Sr. were united in marriage and to this union, one son was born. She joined Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age. She graduated from Finley High School and Benedict College. She taught in the public schools of Chester County and first grade at York Road Elementary School. She was a member of the The Bathsheba Order of The Eastern Star, Chapter #7.
She is survived by her son, Elmer `Buddy` (Norma Jean) Heyman, Sr. of Chester. NC; her mother, Lillian S. White of Durham, NC; brother-in-law, John Childers of Durham, NC; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:30pm, Wednesday, May 2, 2001 from Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church with the Pastor Reverend Cordell Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Benson Cemetery.
Order of The Eastern Star Rites will be conducted by Queen Bathsheba Chapter #7 Tuesday, May 1st at 7pm from the chapel of Christopher King's Funeral Home. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1-9pm at the funeral home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.
The family will receive friends from the home of her son, Elmer `Buddy` Heyman, 132 Apt. B. Bailey Street.
The body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 1:30pm until the hour of service.

Pate, Anne Stone
ROWLAND -- Mrs. Anne Stone Pate, 79, of 801 East Main Street, died Sunday, April 29, 2001 at Wesley Pines Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be at 11am, Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at Rowland United Methodist Church with burial at Rowland Cemetery. Rev. Connie Stutts officiating. Visitation will be from 7-9pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at Rowland United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Pate was a homemaker, an avid gardener and bridge player, a member of Rowland United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, and member of United Methodist Women. She served in many civic groups including Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, Garden Club, and Young at Heart Club.
She is survived by a son, John T. Pate, Sr., of Fayetteville, NC; a daughter, Susan G. Pate of Denver, NC; grandchildren, John T. Pate, Jr. of Fairmont, NC, Kelly S. Hayes of Greensboro, NC, J. Lewis Cook of Denver, NC, Victoria I. Pate of Fairmont, NC, and Vance B. Pate of Rowland, NC; and great-grandchildren, Anna C. Pate, Chloe E. Pate and Jaida Pate, all of Fairmont, NC.
Memorials may be made to Rowland United Methodist Church or Wesley Pines Nursing Center.

Curlee, Harry Belk
ROCK HILL -- Mr. Harry Belk Curlee, Jr., 65, of 1572 Crestdale Road, died at his residence, Friday, April 27, 2001. A native of Charlotte, NC, he was son of the late Harry B. Curlee, Sr., and the late Edith Hoover Curlee; was a member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church, and was educated in the Charlotte school system. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. He was associated with Chadbourn Gotham, Inc., in Charlotte, for over 12 years and later with M. Lowenstein Corp. in rock Hill until his retirement.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Charlotte, with Dr. Ray Scott officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
Mr. Curlee is survived by his two cousins, Carolyn M. Bryson of Charlotte, NC and Harriet M. Dry of Surfside Beach, SC.

Sage, Amanda Nicole
Amanda Nicole Sage, 17, of Weddington, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. MatthewCatholic Church with Monsignor McSweeney as Celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Home from 2-4 PM Tuesday afternoon, and again from 7-9 PM Tuesday evening.
Amanda, the beloved daughter of Debbie and Jack Sage and sister of Chris, was born on October 2, 1983, in Charlotte. She will be remembered as the light in everyone's life. She embraced it, always looking for the next adventure and will be missed by young and old alike. She was to graduate Sun Valley High School on June 1st, and was to attend UNCC. Mandy was a member of the Sun Valley Swim Team, Weddington Softball and a Peer Minister at St. Matthew Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Antionette and Fredrick Cippoletti.
She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Virgie and Walter Sage; niece of Mildred and Henry Saer, Diane Phipps, Sharon and Joseph Cippoletti; and 14 cousins.
The family has asked that memorials may be made to either the Mandy Sage Fund, c/o Sandy Wooters, BB&T;, POB 250, Indian Trail, NC 28079, or to St. Matthew Catholic Church, Youth Ministries, 8015 Ballantyne Commons, Charlotte, NC 28277.
Mandy was a true Angel of God; we will all miss her greatly.
