Burchfield, Shirley Colleen
KANNAPOLIS - Shirley Colleen Burchfield, age 68, died Thurs., Feb. 8, 2001. Funeral services will be 2 PM Mon., Feb. 12, 2001 at Greene funeral service (Southside Chapel). The Rev. Thomas Sandquist and the Rev. Dennis L. Horne will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

She was a member of Concord Bible Church and was retired from Newport News Ship Building.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concord Bible Church Building Fund, 711 Williamsburg Ct., Concord, NC 28025.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Emmitt, Brian Jenkins, Kevin Jenkins, Ronnie Jenkins, Johnny McGill, Scott McGill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roby & Shirley Stewart Jenkins.

Survivors are, sons, Charles Jonas Sinclair of Gastonia, James Edward Sinclair of Kannapolis; daughter, Kimberly S. Woodly of Hendersonville; brothers, Lewis A. & Ronald L. Jenkins of Kings Mountain, Cecil M. Jenkins of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Dorothy J. McGill of Gastonia, Mary J. Vernon of Kings Mountain, Diane Jenkins of Winston Salem and 8 grandchildren.

Stevens, Jennie Eubanks
KERSHAW - Mrs. Jennie Eubanks Stevens, age 67, of 731 Scout Cabin Road, died Friday evening, February 9, 2001 at Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden. She was born January 21, 1934 in Jefferson, the daughter of the late Mr. Everette Eubanks and Mrs. Camile Belk Eubanks and wife of Mr. William Stevens. Mrs. Stevens retired from Karo Knitting Mill in Jefferson and was a member of Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church.

Mrs. Stevens is survived by her husband, Mr. William Stevens of the home, 1 son, Mr. Danny William Stevens and his wife Karen of Pageland, 4 brothers, Mr. Hall Eubanks and his wife Missy, Mr. Winford Eubanks and his wife Rachael both of Jefferson, Mr. Jerry Eubanks and his wife Janie of Kershaw, and Mr. Harold Eubanks and his wife Frances of Heath Springs, 1 sister, Mrs. Gladys Hinson of Jefferson, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by one daughter, Miss Kim Stevens.

The Graveside funeral service for Mrs. Stevens will be 11:00 am Monday morning, February 12, 2001 at Kershaw City Cemetery by Rev. Curtis Laney with burial to follow.

The Family of Mrs. Stevens will be at the home of her brother, Mr. Jerry Eubanks, 6449 N. Matson Street, Kershaw, SC 29067.

HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720 is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Stevens.

Champion, Aneita Montgomery
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Aneita Montgomery Champion, age 50, died Feb. 10, 2001. Graveside service is 4 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Visitation is 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of the brother, Robby Montgomery, 312 Maner Rd.

Gates, Bobbie Hall
LINCOLNTON - Mrs. Bobbie Hall Gates, age 68, of 2801 Long Shoals Rd in Lincolnton died Friday, February 9, 2001 at Lincoln Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Long Shoals Baptist Church with the Rev. Stuart Johnson and Rev. James Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Long Shoals Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gates was born on March 20, 1932 a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Friday Hall. She was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Blair Hall and one sister Viola Freeman. She retired after 20 with the department of Social Services and was also a part-time employee of Amy's House.

Survivors include her husband Nelson of the home; one daughter, Susan Avery of Lincolnton, NC, three brothers, James Hall of Stanley; Lathan Hall of Lincolnton, and William Hall of Dallas; one sister, Alma Rhyne of Dallas; one granddaughter, Katy Avery.

Memorials may be made to Long Shoals Baptist Church, 2988 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092 and to Amy's House, 810 South Grier Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

McGee, Erin Paige
MARION - Miss Erin Paige McGee, 26, died February 9, 2001. Funeral is 3 p.m. Sunday at Westmoreland Chapel. Visitation is 2-3 p.m. tonight, Feb. 11, 2001 at Westmoreland Funeral Home.

Hood, Myrle Clark
MOORESVILLE - Myrle Clark Hood, 92, of Mooresville, died Friday, February 9, 2001 at Eden Gardens of Mooresville.

She was born on November 7, 1908, in Geneva, Alabama. She was the daughter the late Jessie Thomas and Sarah Creel Clark, and the wife of the late William C. Davis.

Survivors include her daughter, Alice Phillips and husband, Robert of Mooresville, and three grandchildren, Bobby and Kirsten Phillips of Mooresville and Chuck Phillips of Charlotte.

Services for Mrs. Hood will be private.

Family request all memorials to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 224523, Dallas, Texas 75222.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home of Mooresville is serving the family of Mrs. Hood.

McMillan, Robert (Roy) Monroe
RALEIGH - Robert (Roy) Monroe McMillan, M.D., a resident of the Springmoore Community in Raleigh and son of Dr. John McMillan and Annie Arrowood McMillan died on February 8, 2001. Roy McMillan was born in Hemp (now Robbins), North Carolina on July 10, 1914. IN 1918 his family moved to Candor where Dr. John McMillan practiced medicine until his death in 1945. Roy McMillan was graduated from the University of Norty Carolina and complete the two years of medical school offered in Chapel Hill before graduating from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1938. He interned at the Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA, where he met Dorothy Burchfield who was a nurse there. On Juloy 12, 1939, they were married. Roy McMillan completed his residency at the Mass General Hospital in Boston and his medical residency as a Fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He served in World War II from 1942-1946 and was stationed in England and Ireland being honorably discharged with the rank of Major. From 1946 until he retired in 1984, Dr. McMillan was a dedicated and caring family physician in Southern Pines and Moore County. He was Chief of Staff of Moore Regional Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital and served as president of the Moore County Medical Society. In 1972, he recieved the Kiwanis Club Builders Cup for `unselfish Service to the Sandhills." He was a member of the Moore County School Board, the Board of Sandhills Community College, an Elder at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church and president of the St. Andrews Society of North Carolina. In 1992, Roy and Dorothy moved to Raleigh to be close to their two sons. Roy McMillan is survived by his wife Dorothy Burchfield McMillan, his sister Mary Neilon Smith of High Point, four children, John B. McMillan and his wife Angie of Raleigh, Dr. Julia A. McMillan and her husband Jed Dietz of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary V. McMillan and her husband John Jackson of Toronto, Canada, and Robert M. McMillan, Jr. of Raleigh. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Edith, Robert and Elihu Dietz. Memorial services will be held at White Memorial Presbyterian Church on Sunday, February 11 at 3:00 p.m. and at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Southern Pines on Monday, February 12, 2001 at noon. The family will receive friends at the church following each service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to White Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Springmoore Foundation, or to your favorite charity.

Ping, Lula Mae
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lula Mae Ping, 79, died Saturday, February 10, 2001. Funeral will be 12 noon Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001 at Somerset Undertaking Company, 113 N. Main St., Somerset, Kentucky, 42501-1466. Interment will be private.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Mrs. Ping was the daughter of the late Cuba Elizabeth Hagan. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill. Mrs. ping is survived by her husband Robert Glenn Ping, of the home; 2 sons, Wallace Glenn Ping of Rock Hill and Gary Ping of Frankfurt, Kentucky; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1806-C Ebenezer Road Rock Hill, SC, from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2001.

Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

ROCKINGHAM - Mrs. Edith Robinson died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001. Arrangements are incomplete. Nelson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Shepler, Naomi Rymer
SALISBURY - Mrs. Naomi Rymer Shepler, 71, died Feb. 9, 2001. Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at Vaughan Funeral Chapel. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Summersett Funeral Home, Salisbury, NC.

Sloop, Frances Miller
SALISBURY - Frances Miller Sloop, 72, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001. Funeral is 4 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.

Aavek, Angela Morse
STALLINGS - Mrs. Angela Morse Aavek, 37, of Whitmire, SC, formerly of Stallings, died Saturday, February 10, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Al Robon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fores Lawn East Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Aavek was born March 7, 1963 to Peggy M. Morse and the late Gerald Morse while her father was stationed in Germany. She graduated from Sun Valley High School and attended Mission Tabernacle Church in Mint Hill. Before illness took its toll, she was employed by the US Postal Service. Angela enjoyed the company of her friends and loved all animals, especially cats. She was known to open her home to those abandoned at the local Humane Societies.

Her survivors include her husband of 10 years, Thomas Aavek of Whitmire; her son Anthony Lindemann of Stallings; her mother, Peggy Morse of Stallings; her brother, Gerald `Jerry" Morse III of Indian Trail; and her grandfather, Urbane Morse of Gardner, Maine.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Union County, PO Box 101, Monroe, NC 28111.

Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home.

Isenhour, Mamie McLelland
TAYLORSVILLE - Mrs. Mamie McLelland Isenhour, 85, died Friday, February 9, 2001. Funeral is 4 p.m. Monday at Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. tonight at Adams Funeral Home in Taylorsville.

McCoy, Donald Mac `Donnie'
WESLEY CHAPEL - Mr. Donald Mac `Donnie' McCoy, age 59, died Friday at his residence. Donald was born July 16, 1941 in Union County, son of the late Luther A. and Essie Faye Williams McCoy, he was owner and operator of McCoy Farm and Grading Company. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Houston Baptist Church, with Rev. David Stegall and Rev. E.B. Elmore officiating, interment will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Survivors include his wire, Mrs. Judy McCoy of the home, three daughters, Dawn Gurley of Rock Hill, SC, Donna Thomas of Monroe, NC, Susan Fincher of Wesley Chapel, NC, eight grandchildren, one sister, Betty Jean Griffin of Tittusville, FL. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe.

Liverman, Mamie Copeland
WINTERVILLE - Mrs. Mamie Copeland Liverman, 95, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001. Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday in the Winterville Baptist Church. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. tonight at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville, NC.

Dunlap, "T.C." Thomas Cleve
YORK - Mr. "T.C." Thomas Cleve Dunlap, Jr., age 81, died Feb. 9, 2001. He was born May 24, 1919 the son of the late Thomas Cleve Dunlap and Daisy Simril Dunlap. Mr. Dunlap was the widower of Peggy Burton Dunlap. He was a retired farmer, U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church.

Survivors are daughter & son-in-law, Martina D. and Todd Russell, York, SC; son & daughter-in-law, T.C. and Judy Dunlap, III, Asheboro, NC; sister, Martha D. Tucker, Beaufort, SC; five grandchildren, Lauren D. Dunlap, Thomas C. Dunlap IV, Jessica L. Dunlap, Marie L. Russell, Marlien J. Russell.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2001 at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Lewis Bozard. The family received friends Saturday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover, SC. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 30 West Liberty St., York, SC, 29745.

Arnold, Doris M.
Doris M. Arnold, 84, of 2801 Carmel Rd., a former Rehoboth, MA., homemaker, active church member and Parent-Teacher Association leader, died Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews. She was the wife of the late Warren R. Arnold.

Born in Quidnick, RI, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Edith I. (Dewell) Money.

Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Rehoboth Congregational Church, where she served as president of their missionary society and as the first woman chairman of the board of trustees. She was also a member of the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society and a sixty-year member of the Anawan Grange. With her husband, she was a charter member of the Second Thursday Club, a group of newly married couples. A graduate of the Rhode Island College of Education in Providence, RI, she served as a substitute teacher in the Rehoboth School System.

She and Warren lived in Rehoboth most of their adult lives. They also lived in Eastham, MA, on Cape Cod and spent winters in Palm Harbor, FL. Her last years were spent at Carmel Hills Retirement Community, in Charlotte, NC. She leaves three sons, Larry T. Arnold of Matthews, NC, Kenneth W. Arnold of Wichita, KS, and David R. Arnold of Attleboro, MA; a brother, William L. Money, of Fayetteville, AR; two sisters, Lyle Allen and Barbara Greene of Coventry, RI; and four grandchildren. A brother, Hazard Money, and a sister, Hazel Money, predeceased her.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2001 at 2:00 PM at the Rehoboth Congregational Church, Rehoboth, MA. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rehoboth Congregational Church, PO Box 325, Rehoboth, MA 02769.

National Cremation Service, Charlotte, NC is serving the family.
