Pitman, Graham
GASTONIA - Graham Pitman, 76, of 214 Twin Tops Rd., Gastonia died Feb. 4, 2001 at his residence.

He was born in Mitchell Co. on May 29, 1924 a son of the late Doc and Bertie Woody Pitman. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired textile machine operator.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Pitman Daniels, three sisters, Georgia Dixon, Arlene Hudson and Lois Pitman, and three brothers, Fred, Earl, and Ed Pitman.

Survivors include his wife Gladys Burrell Pitman; a daughter, Janice Fox and husband Eddie, Belmont; three sons, Johnny Graham Pitman, Morganton, Michael J. Pitman, Atlanta, and Stanley Allen Pitman and wife Beverly, Belmont; nine grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Pitman, Valdese and Claude Pitman, Bakersville; and five sisters, Gladys Ledford, Bakersville, Edith Wolters, Belmont, Florence Wilson, Gastonia, Ivey Moss, Dallas, and Jean Boyd, Marion.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday Feb. 7, 2001 at 1 PM Carothers Colonial Chapel, Gastonia with Rev. Vanda Frances and Rev. Y. Z. Isaacs officiating with burial to follow in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001 from 7-9 PM and at other times at the home of Stan and Beverly Pitman, 17 Bowen Dr., Belmont.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hanacher, Gary Hudson, Eddie Fox, Hubert Burrell, Roger English, Randy Boyd, Larry Ledford, and Mike Ledford.

Memorials may be made to Gaston County Cancer Society, 220 E. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052 or to Hospice of Gaston Co., PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28053.

Queen, James Robert
GASTONIA - James Robert Queen, 74, of 1010 South Chestnut St., Gastonia, NC died Saturday, February 3, 2001 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at Firestone Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, February 6, 2001 beginning 2:00 PM, with Rev. Harold Meeks and Rev. Raymond Phaup officiating. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will be at the home when not at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Marshall Hunnicutt, Earl Hill, Craig Queen, Tommy Cline, Richard Davis and Kenny Sparks.

Mr. Queen was born December 5, 1926, a native of Haywood Co., NC. He was a son of the late Robert Coleman & Renie Towery Queen. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Surviving him are his wife, Marie Stewart Queen, of the home; son & daughter-in-law, Dean & Geri Queen of Gastonia; daughters & sons-in-law, Patty & Gene McDonald of Gastonia, Teresa & Frank Statile; brother & sister-in-law, Bob & Phyllis Queen of Gastonia; sister & brother-in-law, Mildred & Rev. Harold Meeks of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Amy & Allison Queen, Stacey Baucom, Katie, Frankie, Matthew, Emily Statile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kenneth and Gerald Queen.

Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Gaston Co., PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28053.

Brock, James Andrew
HARRISBURG - Mr. James Andrew Brock, II, 58, of 4601 Phil Lane, Harrisburg, NC died Saturday, February 3, 2001 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Crowe's Mortuary, Rutherfordton, NC, with Dr. Paul Childers and Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Shelby, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Brock was born November 14, 1942 in Greenville Co., SC. He was an automotive salesman; was active in the Jaycee's & Kiwanis; and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC.

Surviving him are his parents, Rev. Paul Talmage Brock and Gladys Scoggins Brock, of Forest City, NC; brother, William "Bill" Talmage Brock of Belmont, NC; sister, Paula Young of Fayetteville, NC; two nieces and two nephews.

Crowe Mortuary is serving the Brock family.

Cavin, Doris Keever
HICKORY - Mrs. Doris Keever Cavin, 76, died Mon., Feb. 5, 2001. Funeral is 2 PM Wed. at First Baptist Church. Visitation is 7-8:30 PM Tues. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home.

Plumley, Adam Jacob
HICKORY - Infant Adam Jacob Plumley, infant, died February 4, 2001. Graveside services will be on Tuesday at 11 AM at Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rota, Constance
KANNAPOLIS - Constance Rota, 51, died February 3, 2001. Funeral 2pm Thursday, Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, Carolina Mem. Park. Vstn 1-2pm Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Hilton, Kathryn Farris Little
KERSHAW - Mrs. Kathryn Farris Little Hilton, 61, of Mr. Richard Thomas Hilton, of 608 Trailer Park Road, Kershaw, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2001 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born February 22, 1939, in Pageland, a daughter of the late William Clifford Little and Mrs. Nellie Broome Little. A member of the Center Grove Baptist Church, Mrs. Hilton was retired from Skyline Ltd.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at 3:00 PM from the Center Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Miller and Rev. Colt Auten. Burial will be in the Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hilton is survived by her husband, Mr. Richard Thomas Hilton; a son, Mr. Jonathan D. Hilton of Kershaw; a step-son, Mr. William T. Hilton of Goldsboro, NC; a brother, Mr. Clifford Junior Little of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian L. Bowers of Heath Springs, Mrs. Louis (Ruby) Pate of Lancaster and Miss Minnie Little of Fort Lawn; and three grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Center Grove Baptist Church, 236 Scout Cabin Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel and other times at the residence, 608 Trailer Park Road, Kershaw.

Howell, Judy McGinnis
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Judy McGinnis Howell, 41, of 107 Inwood Ln. died Feb. 3, 2001.

Funeral is 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church with Dr. Ralph Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery.

Mrs. Howell was a native of of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Lewis Edward McGinnis. She was a student counselor at North Elementary School in Kings Mountain and a member of Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain. She was also a member of the American Hypnosis Society and North Carolina Counselors Association. In addition to these she was also an alumni of Belmont Abbey College and Gardner Webb University.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Howell of Kings Mountain; son, Jeff Howell of the home; mother, Willie Sue Leonhart McGinnis of Kings Mountain; brothers, Terry Marlowe of Kings Mountain, Jerry Marlowe of Waco, Kenneth McGinnis of Kings Mountain and Billy Hedgepeth of Shelby; sister, Wanda Cooper of Belmont; and mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Ray Howell.

Memorials may be made to CODAP, c/o Cleveland County Health Department, 315 Grover St., Shelby, NC 28150.

LAKELAND, FL - James Bruce Blount, Sr., 60, died Jan. 29, 2001. Funeral was 1pm Sat., Sharon Pentecostal Ch., Clinton, SC. Burial, Horn Cem., Autryville, NC. Arrangements: Brown Funeral Directors & Hamilton Porter F.H., Hope Mills, NC.

McKee, Margaret Downs
LAWNDALE - Margaret Downs McKee, 80 of 323 Hwy. 18 S. Lawndale, NC formerly of Reid St., Gastonia died Sunday Feb. 4, 2001 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Mecklenburg Co. on March 29, 1920 a daughter of the late William H. and Glennie Lanford Downs. Mrs. McKee attended East Garrison Baptist Church and was a retired cafeteria manager with Gaston Co. Schools.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, James W. Neely and Roy Edward McKee and a brother William H. Downs, Jr.

Survivors include four sons, Danny McKee, Iron Station, James W. Downs, Goose Creek, SC, Edward Sonny McKee and wife Irene, Gastonia, and Terry McKee and wife Juanita, Gastonia; five daughters, Gayle Reese and husband Bob, Lawndale, Betty Young and wife John, Charlotte, Frances Thomas, Monroe, Barbara Smith and husband Howard, Belmont and Mary Wood, Gastonia, numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at 3:30 PM at Carothers Colonial Chapel, Gastonia with burial to follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Steelman, Lucy Mac
LENOIR - Lucy Mac Steelman, 86, died Monday, February 5, 2001. Funeral is Wednesday at 2pm at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Spencer, McKenney Okee
LILESVILLE - Mr. McKenney Okee Spencer, 49, died February 1, 2001. Funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Centenary A.M.E. Zion Church, Lilesville, NC. Burial is in Womble Chapel Church cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge.

Hogan, Iris Ayers "Tater"
MARION - Mrs. Iris Ayers "Tater" Hogan, 73, died February 5, 2001. Visitation is Tuesday 10-11 AM at Westmoreland Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home.

Almond, Virginia Rogers
MONROE - Mrs. Virginia Rogers Almond, 85, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001 in Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gordon funeral service of Monroe.

Belk, Robert P. "Bobby"
MONROE - Mr. Robert P. "Bobby" Belk, 63, died February 4, 2001. Graveside service is 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. tonight at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe.

Ms. Tawanda Crowder
MONROE - Ms. Tawanda Crowder, 29, died Friday, February 2, 2001. Funeral is 3pm Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at Grier Funeral Chapel. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation 7pm-8pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

Brown, David Mack
MOORESVILLE - David Mack Brown, age 40 of 336 Nesbit Street, Mooresville, died February 4, 2001 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Crestview Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Barnett officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery in Mooresville. Visitation is 6-8 PM Tuesday at Neill Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown was born in Iredell County, N.C. He was last employed at a Landscape/Tree Service and was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Tilley.

He is survived by his daughter, Jesica Brown of Mooresville; mother, Fannie Brown of Mooresville; sisters, Dorothy LeGrand of Charlotte, Shirley Stewart, Juanita Honeycutt, both of Mooresville, Lorene Davis of Cleveland, Joan Johnson of Mooresville; brothers, James Brown of Statesville, Robert Brown of Kannapolis, and Tony Brown of Concord.

Neill Funeral Home is serving the family.
