Carla Doss Alden, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, went to be with our Lord on May 11, 1998. She was 48 years old. Carla was born in Johnson City, TN, the second child of Carl and Clara Hart Doss. She was a graduate of Marion Senior High School in Marion, VA., and Kings College in Charlotte. She had been a resident of Charlotte since 1969. She was an active member of the Church at Charlotte and a volunteer in many community activities. Carla's life exemplified the love chapter, I Corinthians 13. Her life was all about loving the giving to those around her. She lived to the fullest and the world was a better place because she was here. More than anything else, she treasured her family. Her greatest joys came in doing anything for those she loved. Her warm smile and tender heart were a shining light in all of our lives. Even though she is no longer with us, a warm afterglow of her presence will always surround those who knew her. We will miss her in this world, but we know she will brighten the heavens by her presence. Carla is survived by her beloved husband, Gary; two daughters, Abbey and Emily Alden; her mother and step-father, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Blain, of Charlotte; two sisters, Linda Chrosniak, of Oakton, VA, and Grace Capps, of Charlotte; a brother, Henry Doss, of Charlotte; and 8 nieces and nephews.
