SANFORD -- Vern Harold ‘‘Junior’’ Berry Jr., 36, of 710 Love Grove Church Road died Saturday.

Mr. Berry was a member of Central Baptist Temple.

The funeral will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Mike Oldham.

Mr. Berry is survived by two daughters, Ashley H. Berry and Rebecca Berry, both of Fayetteville; his mother and stepfather, Gloria and Ronald Brown of Sanford; a brother, Rodney Berry of Lorida, Fla.; and three sisters, Debi C. Diaddaro of Cleveland and Georgia Rieckmann and Sherri Brown, both of Sanford.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Temple.

Willie R. Pope

CLINTON -- Willie Robert Pope, 83, of 503 Pine St. died Sunday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham.

Arrangements will be announced by Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Ms. Ola M. Bush

(dated Monday, May 31, 1999)
SANFORD -- Ms. Ola Mae Bush, 78, of 1532 Boone Trail Road died Thursday in Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Colon by the Revs. George Dark and Fred Dunlap. Burial will be in Lee Memory Gardens.

Ms. Bush is survived by three sons, Jake Bush Jr. of Pageland, S.C., Randy Bush of Los Angeles and Richard Bush of Sanford; six daughters, Earliane Lewis, Estelle Bush and Melia Bess, all of Sanford, Gwen McLaughlin of Winston-Salem, Pamela Jones of Charlotte and Felecia Lapianche of Miami; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Watson Mortuary.

Mrs. Josephine Artis

CLINTON -- Mrs. Josephine Artis, 66, of 12014 Garland Highway died Sunday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Arrangements will be announced by Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Robert Revels

(dated Monday, May 31, 1999)
PEMBROKE -- Robert Revels, 69, of 701 Smith Circle died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Revs. Chris Rooks, Douglas Campbell and Earl Chavis. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Revels is survived by his wife, Lucy Revels; two daughters, Lucy Walton of Lumberton and Sarah Brewington of Pembroke; four sons, Robert E. Revels, Bobby D. Revels and Charles Revels, all of Pembroke, and Marty Revels of Rockingham; a sister, Mary F. Hunt of Rowland; two brothers, James E. Revels of Columbia, S.C., and Charles Revels of Keystone Heights, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Revels Funeral Home.

Ms. Sharon Boone

Ms. Sharon Boone, 33, of Fayetteville died Friday.

Willie C. Smith

Willie C. Smith, 62, of 6206 Bristol Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.

Fitzhugh L. Holder Jr.

(dated Monday, May 31, 1999)
Retired Army Master Sgt. Fitzhugh Lee Holder Jr., 78, of Fayetteville died Friday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Mr. Holder was a member of DAV No. 46 and the Royal Order of the Moose. He retired from the Army after more than 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II, the Vietnam War and the Korean War.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Michael Davis. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Mr. Holder is survived by his wife, Ruth G. Holder of the home; a daughter, Trudy Craig of Hope Mills; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gardners United Methodist Church, 3555 Rosehill Road, Fayetteville, N.C. 28311.

Ms. Maria A. Danzi (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)

WILMINGTON -- Ms. Maria Agnes Danzi of Wilmington died Saturday in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Monday in Andrews Mortuary chapel by the Rev. William F. Walsh.

Among Ms. Danzi’s survivors is a sister, Clara Midwood of Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARE Clinic, Robeson Street, Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.

Victor C. Stewart (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)

LAURINBURG -- Victor C. Stewart, 72, of 1410 Hickory St. died Sunday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Butler Funeral Service chapel by the Rev. Jerry Wilkes. Burial will be in Wrights Cemetery.

Mr. Stewart is survived by a sister, Estelle Sheppard of Laurinburg.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Frances P. Wolfe (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Mrs. Frances Powers Wolfe, 81, of Rock Hill, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Monday in Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Greene Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wolfe is survived by a son, Phillip D. Wolfe of Rock Hill; two daughters, Anita W. Gainey of Godwin, N.C., and Donna W. Witter of Rock Hill; two brothers, Paul N. Powers of Fayetteville and Mike Powers of Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Beatnice Durgan of Advance, N.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Muriel D. Wilson (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)

SOUTHERN PINES -- Mrs. Muriel Dean Wilson, 82, of Penick Village died Monday.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bensalem Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Strad Snivley. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by two brothers, the Rev. Dawes Graybeal of Eagle Springs and Robert Graybeal of Grundy, Va.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Fry-Prickett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Beatrice Williford (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)

Mrs. Beatrice McLeod Williford, 88, of 813 Greenland Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

Mrs. Williford was a nurse before retiring.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in LaFayette Memorial Park by the Rev. Carl Frazier.

Mrs. Williford is survived by a daughter, Carolyn W. Cobb of Greesboro; a son, Vann Williford of High Point; six sisters, Gertrude McNeil of Cameron, Ruth Kondratovich of Trumbull, Conn., Adeline Keith, Elma Such and Peggy Buchanan, all of Sanford, and Mildred McLeod of Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.

Larry C. Thompson (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Larry Craig Thompson, 46, of Charleston, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Wednesday in Roper Hospital.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday in James A. McAlister Funeral Home chapel.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Laura C. Thompson; a son, Taylor L. Thompson of Charleston; his mother, Peggy Thompson of Fayetteville; a brother, Stephen F. Thompson of Gulfport, Miss.; and a sister, Lisa T. Cabaj of Fayetteville.

William L. ‘Bill’ Sullivan (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class William L. ‘‘Bill’’ Sullivan, 70, of Atlantic Avenue, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Sullivan was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. During his career, he received the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Korean Service Medal with four bronze service stars and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Sullivan volunteered as the bowling team coach at Douglas Byrd High School. He was a member of Person Street United Methodist Church. He retired from the Department of Transportation as an engineer technician.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Person Street United Methodist Church by the Revs. Wilson Strickhausen and Johnnie S. Huggins. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.

Mr. Sullivan is survived by his wife, Brenda P. Sullivan; three sons, Robert L. Sullivan of Fayetteville, James Sullivan of Montevallo, Ala., and Danny Sullivan of Alabaster, Ala.; two daughters, Gail Monroe of Birmingham, Ala., and Valerie Entrekin of Gardendale, Ala.; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Memorials may be made to Person Street United Methodist Church, 509 Person St., Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.
