Miss Tart was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Rose & Graham Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. J. Edward Adams. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Miss Tart is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Miss Cynthia A. Mercer (Dated Thursday, July 8, 1999)
CHADBOURN -- Miss Cynthia Ann Mercer, 35, of Joe Brown Highway South died Tuesday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. William J. Godwin. Burial will be in Mercer Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Worthington Funeral Home.
Miss Mercer is survived by her parents, Don and Debbie G. Mercer of the home; two brothers, Donald W. Mercer of Chadbourn and Ricky D. Mercer of Waynesboro, Va.; and her maternal grandmother, Alene F. Gore of Loris, S.C.

Mrs. Mozella Melvin (Dated Thursday, July 8, 1999)
CLINTON -- Mrs. Mozella Melvin, 80, of 407-B Sampson St. died Friday in Duplin General Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Littlefield Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Alfonza Williamson. Burial will be in Littlefield Cemetery.
Mrs. Melvin is survived by four daughters, Doris Williams of Seat Pleasant, Md., Lillian Melvin and Evelyn Melvin, both of Washington, D.C., and Gloria Crews of Silver Springs, Md.; two sisters, Bessie Mitchell of Philadelphia and Lillian Smalls of Williamsburg, Va.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 2 to 7 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home.

LINDEN -- Willie David McLean, 46, of 9449 McLean St. died Monday in his home.

Mr. McLean is survived by his wife, Roberta M. McLean of the home; two daughters, Adrienne P. McLean and Crystal F. McLean, both of the home; two sons, David J. McLean of the home and David D. Giles of Richmond, Va.; his mother, Hattie McLean of Dunn; his father and stepmother, Hubert and Claudia McLean of Godwin; five sisters, Dora L. Stokes, Gloria F. Powell and Mary L. King, all of Dunn, Hattie P. Moore of Eastover and Edna P. Kittrell of Newton Grove; five brothers, James H. McLean of Erwin, Marshall A. McLean of Fayetteville and Ronald E. McLean, Stanley C. McLean and Edward Hargrove, all of Dunn; and a grandchild.

Ms. Matthews is survived by two nephews.

PEMBROKE -- Ms. Edith Locklear, 55, of 187 Shawn F. Road died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday by the Revs. Tony Miller and Randy McDonald.
Ms. Locklear is survived by a son, Scotty Locklear of Pembroke; two daughters, Eugenia Prevatte of Lumberton and Geneva Barron of Pembroke; three brothers, Donald Deese, Ray Deese and Bill Deese, all of Pembroke; four sisters, Dehlia Pate, Menerva Deese, Yvonne Parker and Averna Bullard, all of Pembroke; and nine grandchildren.

LUMBERTON -- Walter Lee ‘‘Noody’’ Johnson, 72, of 393 Bee Gee Road died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson ran a Chevrolet dealership for 45 years before retiring.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church by the Revs. Joe Bounds and Steve Branch.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Shirley P. Johnson of the home; two daughters, Vicki J. Barnes of Nags Head and Kitty J. Britt of McDonald; a brother, James Johnson of Rowland; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Hill is survived by a daughter, Barbara Kent of Huntsville, Ala.; two brothers, Paul Allen and Julian Allen, both of Louisburg; a sister, Lola Smith of Fayetteville; and a grandson.

Mrs. Hampton is survived by her husband, Timothy L. Hampton of Charlotte; a son, Dee Shawn L. Hampton of Charlotte; a daughter, Kiendra R. Hampton of Charlotte; her parents, Melvin and Annie R. Toomer of Eastwood; a sister, Paula Toomer of Georgia; and two half brothers, Jamie McNeill and Marven McNeill, both of West End.
