Lambert W. Holst
Lambert W. Holst, 82, of Clemmons died May 13 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a nine-year struggle with cancer. He was born April 21, 1923, in New York City to the late Frank Holst and Estelle Jorgenson Holst. He grew up in Yonkers, N.Y. After serving the U.S. Army, he joined the New York City Police Department and retired after 20 years service in 1973. Several years after retirement, he moved to the Carolinas where he claimed he was in Heaven on Earth because he was able to play golf year round. His favorite things to do were tending to his lawn and playing golf. He worked at Tanglewood Park Golf Course for about 10 years. He then worked at several other golf courses, including Salem Glen, where he went to work even after he was no longer able to play golf. He was of the Episcopal faith.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy M. Holst; a son, Bruno Holst and wife Lisa of New York City; stepchildren Clester Mobley Jr. and wife Donna of New York City, Roxanne Williams and husband Oscar of Conyers, Ga., and Kathleen Mobley Addison and husband Greg of New York City; six grandchildren, Nicole Lopes and husband Jason, Jason Mobley and wife Jennifer, Jessica Wilkes Mobley, Romare Addison, Leland Addison and Hasaan Mobley; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and many friends.
A memorial service was held at St. Clement Episcopal Church in Clemmons.

Margaret O. McGuire
Margaret O. McGuire, 90, formerly of Winston-Salem, died May 12 at the Brian Center in Winston-Salem where she was a resident, following a period of declining health. She was born in the Donnoha community of Forsyth County on March 23, 1915, the daughter of the late John Martin and Anna Lee Grubbs Butner. She had attended Pleasant View Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and was a former employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jarvis M. McGuire Sr., in 1998; a son, Dean McGuire; a grandson, Kevin McGuire; three sisters; and three brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Toni McGuire of Wilmington; a son Jimmy “Goot” McGuire Jr., and wife Helen of Winston-Salem; a brother, Roy Butner and wife Nan of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Sandy Harris of Winston-Salem, Michael and Mark McGuire and Kelly Cranfill and husband Josh, all of Walkertown; three great-grandchildren, Devin and Weston Harris of Winston-Salem and Ashley Adams of Walkertown; a great-great-grandson, Austin Adams of Walkertown; and a number of nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Charles Bumgardner of Lewisville.
Funeral services were hekd at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. R. Zeno Groce and Rev. Bobby Roberson officiating. Entombment followed in the Mausoleum at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.

Luther K. Clinard
Luther K. Clinard, 84, of Clemmons died May 15 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 18, 1921, in Forsyth County to Luther Wesley and Ollie Hudson Clinard. A lifelong resident of Clemmons, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Clemmons. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a part-time farmer. He was retired from the city of Winston-Salem sewer division.
Surviving are a son, Stuart Wesley Clinard and wife Cynthia of Clemmons; a stepson, Bobby Turner and wife Mildred of Yadkinville; four grandchildren, Wesley Clinard and wife Robyn, Jeffery Clinard and wife Lindsay W., Robert Clinard and wife Melissa and Tim Turner and wife Michelle; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Vogler & Sons Clemmons Chapel with Dr. Robert Phillips officiating and music by Rev. Steve Foster and Rev. Denny L. Turner. Burial followed at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.

Betty Nell Jordan
Betty Nell Jordan, 80, of Clemmons died August 11. Born March 25, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Roy Andrew Armstrong and Etta Brown Armstrong. She worked for Western Union during World War II. In 1968, she became a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clemmons. She had a passion for traveling, bird watching, Winslow Homer’s art, Puccini’s operas and playing cards with her friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Kipp.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Howard Rudolph Jordan; daughter Caroletta Partain and husband Ray of Charlotte; son David Jordan and wife Paula of Kernersville; son Daniel Jordan and wife Deborah of Morganton; son Thomas Jordan and wife Sandra of Fletcher; son John Jordan and wife Donna of Asheville; grandchildren Roy Partain and wife Bokhee of Houston, Texas, Walter Partain and wife Denise of Knoxville, Tenn., David Jordan of Wichita Falls, Texas, Padriac Jordan and wife Rebecca of Quantico, Va., Kenda Jordan of Salisbury, Nicholas Jordan of Grand Junction, Colo., and Austin Jordan and Weston Jordan, both of Asheville; and her niece, Barbara Daniel of Texas.
A memorial service will be held at Clemmons First Baptist Church.

Howard Fletcher Hall
Howard Fletcher Hall, 86, of Boonville died August 10 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Yadkin County on October 3, 1918, to Bradford Lackey and Mollie Bet Fletcher Hall. He attended Boonville Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force Division, 411 Air Service Squadron, mostly stationed in Barrackpore, India. He was also an active member of the China-Burma-India Veterans Association, Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Mozelle K. Hall of the home; three daughters, LuAnn Hall of Chattanooga, Tenn., Margaret Hall-Duggins and husband Tod of Lewisville and Faye Hall McGurn and husband Scott of Advance; and two grandchildren, Preston McGurn and Katherine McGurn.
Funeral services were held at Boonville Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Boaz officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Carl Kenneth Winfrey
Carl Kenneth “Ken” Winfrey, 76, of Winston-Salem died August 9 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 25, 1928, in Forsyth County to Carl Lee and Katie Rebecca Huffman Winfrey. He was an active member of Brookstown United Methodist Church. He had served in the U.S. Army with the 25th QMCO in Japan throughout the southern Honshee area. In 1988, he retired after 39 years of service with the Winston-Salem Journal as city circulation manager. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robah Lee Winfrey and Donald Edward Winfrey.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Nichols Winfrey; and a daughter, Karen Winfrey Fleck of the home; two brothers, Burton Winfrey and wife Virginia and Roy Winfrey and wife Doris of Tobaccoville; three sisters, Ruth Robertson and husband Dalton of Pfafftown, Mary Holder and husband Fred of Lewisville and Carol Burnette and husband David of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Brookstown United Methodist Church with Rev. Roland Barnhardt officiating. Burial followed at Forsyth Memorial Park.

Rex Anders
Rex “Bud” Anders, 75, of Galax, Va., died August 10 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax. He was born June 18, 1930, in Galax in the Cliffview community to Claude Thomas and Minerva Marcum Anders. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Halsey Anders of the home; and two sisters, Mona Byerly and husband John and Dorothy Phipps and husband Robert, all of Clemmons.
Funeral services were held at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel in Independence with Rev. Ernie Smith officiating. A graveside service was held at Gardens of Memory Memorial Park in Walkertown.

Hebert Odell Simmons
Herbert Odell Simmons, 78, of Winston-Salem died August 8 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born December 15, 1926, in Forsyth County to the late John and Selma Simmons. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the City of Winston-Salem with 30 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Virginia Parrish Simmons of the home; three daughters, Patricia Jones and husband Lloyd of Stuart, Va., and Cathy Styers and husband Greg and Carol Johnson, both of Winston-Salem; three sons, William “Red” Simmons of Clemmons, Larry Simmons of Kernersville and Keith Simmons andwife Cindy of Stanleyville; two brothers, Ray and J.C. Simmons; a sister, Lucille Overby, all of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren, Angie Widner and husband Carl of Mount Airy, Becky and Bill Simmons of King, Adrianne and Laura Styers and Casey Johnson, all of Winston-Salem, John Simmons and wife Casey of Boone and Daniel Simmons and wife Stacy of Thomasville; five great-grandchildren; his dog, Lady; two special friends, Wesley and Jean Pendergraft; two devoted sisters-in law, Lib Myers and Louise Boaz; two brothers-in-law, Troy and Ralph Parrish; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Tim Gammons and Brother Vic Pyles officiating.

Wiley Roger Harrison
Wiley Roger “Yogi” Harrison, 64, of Pfafftown died August 13 at his home. He was born October 7, 1940, in Tazewell County, Va., to the late Charles Edward and Retha Hollen Shupe Harrison. He was a member of Lexwin Baptist Church and had retired from the maintenance department at Sara Lee with 40 years of service. He enjoyed working with kids and was honored with 17 years of service with the Northwest Forsyth Little League. A son, Larry Jay Harrison, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Joann Jordan Harrison of the home; two sons, Gary Ray Harrison of Lewisville and Roger Dale Harrison and wife Pamela of Pfafftown; two grandchildren, Amanda “Piggy” Lisette Harrison and Justin Ryan Harrison; four sisters, Dorothy Calloway and husband Frank of Winston-Salem, Bonnie Lilly and husband Stewart of Marion, Va., Carolyn Horton and husband Ronnie of King and Susan Harrison of Winston-Salem; a brother, Jesse Bobby Lee Harrison and wife Gloria of Van Buren, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Daniel Hauser officiating. Burial followed at Forsyth Memorial Park.

Alice Spainhour Briggs
Alice Spainhour Briggs, 87, of Rural Hall, widow of DeWalden A. Briggs, died August 9 at her home. She was born June 20, 1918, in Stokes County to Felix A. and Viola Ann Priddy Spainhour. Shewas retired from Hanes Hosiery in Winston-Salem and was a homemaker as well as an avid gardener. She was a longtime member of Jefferson Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, DeWalden; a sister, Annie Spainhour Murray; and two brothers, Samuel A. and John Walter Spainhour.
Surviving are two daughters, Patsy Briggs Morgan of Lewisville and Dee Ann Goforth and husband John of Spartanburg, S.C.; five granddaughters, Kim Gleason and husband Ronnie of Clemmons, Amy Whaley and husband Ashley of Zebulon, Ginger Goforth Tennant and husband Josh of Spartanburg, Christy Morgan Howell of East Bend and Katy Goforth of Anderson, S.C; a grandson, Harold Thomas “Tommy” Elliott Jr. of Lewisville; several great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; her sister, Emily Vogler of King; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Jefferson Church of Christ with Jerry Simpkins, minister, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

John C. Paisley
John C. Paisley, 91, died August 14 at Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Va. He was born September 2, 1913, in Mouth of Wilson, Va., to Samuel E. and Lou Dean Pilkins Paisley. He was a retired automobile salesman. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He served his country during World War 11 as a member of the U.S. Army in Germany during 1943 to 1945. He was a current member of First Baptist Church, Independence, Va. He served many years as a choir member, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Lions Club International and the Independence Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ruby Pearl Suitt Paisley; a brother, Kyle Paisley; and a sister, Rose P. Chandler.
Surviving are a daughter, Joan Paisley Lennon of Lewisville; a son, Buddy R. Paisley of Galax, Va.; four grandchildren and spouses, Kelly Lennon and Phillip Belcher of Spartanburg, S.C., Laurie Lennon and Michael Williams of Clemmons, Kimberly Alice Paisley of Greensboro, and David and Laura Lennon of Raleigh; four great-grandchildren, Owen and Kera Belcher and Eric and John Williams; three half brothers, Sammy Paisley of Mouth of Wilson, Va., Douglas Paisley of Baywood, Va. and Roger Paisley of Fries, Va.; a half sister, Linda Sue Paisley of Mouth of Wilson, Va.; and two sisters-in-law, Fannie S, Hutton of Marion, Va., and Cleta S. Paisley of Mouth of Wilson, Va.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Independence, Va. Burial followed at Youngs Chapel Cemetery in Mouth of Wilson, Va., with Rev. Kelly Lennon Belcher, Rev. Jeff Harris and Rev. Douglas Halsey officiating.

Dan C. Detter
Dan C. Detter, 54, of Clemmons died August 15 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a valiant fight with cancer. Born July 18, 1951, in Iredell County, he worked in the toy business for 25 years, delighting in unique toys. He was a longtime member of Parkway United Church of Christ, where he worked on the property committee for years, bringing order and beauty to the sometimes unruly grounds. With his daughter, he was a proud member of the YMCA Adventure Guides’ Catawba Tribe. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, who died in July.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Jan Detter, whom he met at Balls Creek Methodist Campground 39 years ago, and Zoe, his 12-year-old daughter, both of the home; his mother, Nell; his brother, Darvin, and sister-in-law, Cathy; and scores of other family and friends. The family wishes to thank those too numerous to mention for their support, care and understanding during Dan’s illness. They are particularly grateful to Tom and Andrea Radulovic, Jane Sowder, the Rev. Rhonda Davis, Wenda Clinard and Pam Fish.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Parkway United Church of Christ, 2151 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, with Dr. Thomas Mann, Rev. Rhonda Davis and Dr. Dempsy Metalmorph Calhoun officiating.

Dr. William Charles Baldwin
On the morning of Sunday, August 10, 2008 Dr. William Charles Baldwin, known to some as “Bill” transitioned from this realm to be with God.
Born on November 12, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Leonard and Rhoda Baldwin, he spent much of his early years in an orphanage after the passing of his mother. Reunited with his father as a young man, Bill was reared in LaGrange (Chicago), Illinois by his father and stepmother, Pinkie L. Baldwin.
Know to his high school classmates as an All-State football hero, “Chuck” (as he was called at home) joined the workforce while in school and eventually enlisted in the United States Army.
While traveling on leave from the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC to Chicago, he met the love of his life, Anita B. Seegars, in Winston-Salem, NC. They married August 10, 1952 and almost one year later; this union was blessed with one daughter, Charnita Kay.
Elder Baldwin was primarily recognized as the Overseer of Sacred Hour Ministries, Inc. and Dove Ministries, both presently of Clemmons, NC. His life-long focus was the oversight and financial support of the legacy given to his wife.
After beginning a ministry in their in-home Bible Study in September 1974, together, the Baldwin’s saw the charge grow and prosper. They remained in the Washington, DC area until moving to the Winston-Salem vicinity in 1988 under an Abrahmic directive from God. Throughout their ministerial careers, the Baldwin’s watched many spiritual sons and daughters rise to their own places in God to become active ministers in the Body of Christ.
He leaves to grieve their temporary separation his loving and equally devoted wife, Anita; their daughter, Charnita Kay Baldwin; 7 grandchildren, William, II, Jason Hammiel, Latoya Williams, Y’Shica Blackwell, Chavey Baldwin, Alonzo Baldwin and Ashley Baldwin; 5 great-grandchildren, Destiny and Jalen Hammiel, Kamaria and Nicholas Williams, and Malik Charles Baldwin; a sister and nephew from Chicago, Keturah and Brennan Baldwin; a cousin, James Hammock; many other relatives, friends, and innumerable spiritual sons and daughters.
A funeral service of celebration will be held at 11am Saturday, August 23, 2008 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Jones of Glory Church, Charlotte, NC officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 7pm until 9pm on Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Chapel.
In accordance with his life-long objective, in honor of his memory, in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to: Dove Ministries School of Discipleship/Prayer Tower PO Box 1897, Clemmons, NC 27012.

Patricia Ann Sparkman
Patricia Ann Sparkman, 74, born December 4, 1933, loving mother of Kathleen Louise Adkinson of Clemmons, NC and Wesley Alan Sparkman of Birmingham, AL went home to see her Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2008. She is survived by her two children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Ocala, Florida.

Don Hugh Craft Jr.
Don Hugh Craft, Jr., 46, passed away August 21, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Hugh Craft, Sr. and his grandparents. His immediate survivors are his mother, Levonda Craft of Lewisville; brother, David and his wife Jennifer of Yadkinville; his nephew, Dalton Craft; and numerous cousins and friends. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 342. A graveside service was conducted Monday at Lewisville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Linda Mae Tuttle Brinegar
Mrs. Linda Mae Tuttle Brinegar, of Lewisville, went home to Jesus, her Lord and Savior Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September 1st, in Forsyth County to Gorrell C. and Eddis Childers Tuttle. Linda was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1964. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was a testimony for serving others. Mrs. Brinegar was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Doris Ann May and Emma Ruth Church; four brothers, Dexter, Travis, Bruce and Richard Tuttle. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Mr. Jerry D. Brinegar; one daughter, Mrs. Teri Brinegar Emerson (husband Byron) of Forbush; one son, Mr. Donnie Brinegar (wife Tanya) of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Meredith, Matthew, Alyssa and Alie; one sister, Sue Altman of Charlotte and one brother, Jimmy Tuttle of Fuquay-Varina. A Celebration of her life was conducted Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Calvary Baptist with Dr. Guy Hipp and Rev. Neil Tuttle officiating. Burial followed in Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family wishes to thank Dr. Walter Wray and staff, Dr. Andrew Griffin, Dr. Judith Hopkins and Carol Holt and staff, Dr. Ishmael Goco and daughter, Dr. Lori Kellam and the 9th floor Oncology group at Forsyth Medical Center. Linda battled cancer for nine years, strengthened by her firm faith in Christ, the prayers of friends and the loving care of her family.

Julia McLaurin Brabson
Julia McLaurin Brabson, 93, of Bermuda Village, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at her home. Born in 1915 in Walterboro, SC to Ruth Funderburk and James Hilton McLaurin, she was educated in the local schools and graduated from Converse College. Julia married Dr. John Anderson Brabson in 1939 and they lived in New York City until 1943. The couple made their home in Charlotte for the next 45 years, where they raised their four sons. In 1987, they retired to Bermuda Village. Julia was a member of the Charlotte Junior League and Myers Park Presbyterian Church. Her happiest memories were summers spent in Myrtle Beach at her beach house with family, friends and especially grandchildren. She had a passion for crabbing, fishing, cooking and entertaining with no crowd too large. In Myrtle Beach, the Brabsons were members of First Presbyterian Church. Julia had a love of travel and took many trips with her lifelong friend, Elizabeth ‘ Snookie’ Raby of Charlotte. After retirement in Advance, Julia volunteered helping second grade students with their reading skills, but was unable to help them with their math. She was an active member of Clemmons Moravian Church and member of the international chapter of PEO Sisterhood. Julia was predeceased by her husband of 66 years and is survived by her four sons: John A. Brabson, Jr. and his wife, Tilda of Tampa, FL, Thomas D. Brabson of Charlotte, William W. Brabson and his wife, Betsy of Georgetown, SC, and David M. Brabson and his wife, Claire of Palm Harbor, FL; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Memorial Services celebrating her life were held on Tuesday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Bermuda Village. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Clemmons Moravian Church, PO Box 730, Clemmons, NC 27012.

Travis “Jack” Queen
Travis “Jack” Queen departed this world to be with his Lord on March 9, 2009, while working on his farm. Jack, 97, was born in Wilkes County on January 15, 1912 to the late Robert and Emily Hicks Queen. Jack was retired from Atlantic Greyhound Bus Lines after 34 years of service. During his retirement he worked for Regal Ford Company. He was a member of Round Mountain Baptist Church in Wilkes County and the Gilbert Bowles Memorial Bible Class at Beck’ s Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Jack was a devoted, loving Christian husband, father, and “grand daddy”. His days were spent taking care of the needs of neighbors and keeping up his farm. He was known for his stubborn working spirit and never let a day pass by idle. Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Christine Icenhour Queen; his son Jack of Lewisville; his daughter Sheila Nunn and husband Larry of Sharon, S.C.; four grandchildren; Cindy Queen of Winston-Salem, Sharon Vannoy of Clemmons, Amy Queen of Lewisville, and Gregg Gaulden of York, S.C.; four great-grandchildren; Rachel and Luke Vannoy of Clemmons, and Alyssa and Tyler Gaulden of York, S.C.; and his sister Frances Morton of Pfafftown. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Shuba, Ancel, Richard and Bill; two sisters; Belva Kyle and Alma Eller; his daughter-in-law, Susan Queen; and his granddaughter; Susan Lynn Queen. Funeral services were held March 12 with Rev. Larry Nunn, Rev. Roger Jennings and Dr. Ray Hamilton officiating. Interment followed at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. Memorials may be made to Gideon’ s International or the charity of one’ s choice.

Claude H. Clawson
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Claude H. Clawson was held Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Friends Baptist Church, 1840 Lewisville/Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC.
Claude is survived by his family of Columbus, Ohio, his brother, Jesse Marshall Clawson of Clemmons, NC, and his sister, Nellie Clawson Lagle of Cooleemee, NC. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services, Inc., 3175 Maplewood Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27103

Robert Warren Griffin
BERMUDA RUN - Robert Warren Griffin, of Bermuda Run, died Monday, May 18, 2009 at his home. He was born September 7, 1939 in Lee County to Grover L. and Mary Britt Griffin. Mr. Griffin grew up in Fayetteville, NC, served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Methodist University. Mr. Griffin was a Manufacturer’ s Representative for 35 years. He was active in his community and church and served as a Town Councilman of Bermuda Run. He never met a stranger and enjoyed his friends and business associates. He was an avid golfer, loved sports, and enjoyed coaching his sons in sports and always being involved in their lives. But more than anything, Mr. Griffin loved and lived for his family, friends, his church and country. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Neal Griffin. Surviving him is his wife of 44 years, Judy Monterose Griffin of the home; three sons, Rob of Advance, Glen and his wife Doris of Fuquay-Varina and Sam of Waynesville; two grandsons, Dominick and Anthony; his stepmother, Elizabeth Griffin of Fayetteville; a sister, Margaret Fischer and husband Jack of Swampscott, Mass; three brothers, Grover Griffin Jr., of Fayetteville, Dr. Stan Griffin and wife Faye of Fayetteville and Johnny Griffin and wife Faye of Louisburg; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Griffin; his mother-in-law, Ruby Monterose of Fayetteville; sisters-in-law, Janet Monterose of Wilmington and Sandra Gravely and husband Dr. Archer Gravely of Asheville; 15 nieces and nephews and many cousins. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at Clemmons Moravian Church with Rev. Q. Ray Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at any other time at the home. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Clemmons Moravian Church, 3560 Spangenberg Ave., Clemmons, NC 27012 or to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family sincerely appreciates Mr. Griffin’ s excellent healthcare providers.
