Alvin C. Robertson

RED SPRINGS -- Alvin Coultas Robertson, 73, of 106 Coppedge St. died Wednesday.
Mr. Robertson was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Mr. Robertson was the owner of Robertson Mobil before retiring and was a horticulturist for Red Springs.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Paul Jones.
Mr. Robertson is survived by his wife, Jean S. Robertson of Red Springs; three daughters, Adair Robertson of Raleigh, Arden R. LeMoine of Sharron, S.C., and Allyson R. Boyette of Keysville, Ga.; a brother, John P. Robertson Jr. of Red Springs; two sisters, Pauline R. Covington of Latta, S.C., and Isabelle R. McDougald of Raeford; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Crumpler Funeral Home.

W.O. ‘Bill’ White III

CARTHAGE -- W.O. ‘‘Bill’’ White III, 58, of Carthage died Friday.
Mr. White was a Navy veteran. He was a retired electrician.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Beaver Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Schwartz. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. White is survived by his wife, Virginia A. White; two daughters, Jan Sutton of Sanford and Jeanette Wood of Cameron; four sons, Martin Davis of Sanford, Scott O. White of Whitsett and Steven White and Randal White, both of Carthage; his mother, Jeanette Hester of Orrum; four sisters, Linda Ellis of Butters, Sandy Grey of Orrum, Donna Nobles and Caroline Bledsoe, both of Whiteville; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home and at other times at 148 Big Poplars Lane, Carthage.
Robert L. Cragle

RAEFORD -- Robert Lee Cragle, 56, of 133 Hazel Lane died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Church of God. Arrangements are being handled by Cape Fear Crematory.
Mr. Cragle is survived by his wife, Carolyn W. Cragle of Raeford; two sons, Robert L. Cragle Jr. and Brian Cragle, both of Johnstown, Pa.; two daughters, Daria Cragle and Tammy Cragle, both of Johnstown; two stepdaughters, Tammy S. Lancaster and Angela Smith, both of Raeford; a sister, Thelma C. Jefferies of Johnstown; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Lucy J. Eason

Mrs. Lucy Jane Eason, 70, of 4981 Doc Bennett Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Eason was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church . She was a foster home parent for 30 years for the Department of Social Services.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church by the Rev. Ray Ammons. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park West.
Mrs. Eason is survived by her husband, J.C. Eason of the home; a son, Charles L. Eason of Spring Lake; two daughters, Kathie L. Ward of Parkton and Cindy Griffin of Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Mildred Mason of Lillington; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Fevronia P. Kalevas

Mrs. Fevronia Prodromos Kalevas, 87, of 334 Cross Creek St., Fayetteville, died Friday in Integrated Health Services.
Mrs. Kalevas was a member of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church by the Rev. Chrysostom Manuel. Burial will be in Cross Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Kalevas is survived by three daughters, Katherine Kalevas and Georgia Kalevas, both of Fayetteville; and Helen Moyers of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a granddaughter.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
There will be a trisagion service Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard R. Gross

Retired Army Master Sgt. Richard R. Gross, 64, of Fayetteville died Thursday in his home.
Mr. Gross served in the Army for 25 years, including three tours in Vietnam. During his career, he was awarded many awards and medals including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with V devise and the Soldiers Medal.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in JFK Memorial Chapel on Fort Bragg by Father Edward J. Kita. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
Mr. Gross is survived by his wife, Ludmilla Gross; four sons, Colin Gross and Scott Gross, both of the home, Josef Gross of Fayetteville and Kevan Gross of San Francisco; four sisters, Frances Merryman of Dallas and Jacquelyn Theiss, Virginia Rhodes and Marjorie McElhattan, all of Pennsylvania; and six granddaughters.
Bernice W. McQueen

Mrs. Bernice Wright McQueen, 68, of 510 Quimby Court, Fayetteville, died Dec. 19 in Autumn Care of Raeford.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Mount Carmel Baptist Church by the Rev. George Keels. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park.
Mrs. McQueen is survived by two sons, Elwood McQueen Jr. of Fayetteville and Ervin McQueen of Garner; four daughters, Ruby Deberry, Joyce McQueen and Anna McQueen, all of Fayetteville, and Vivian Smith of the home; a sister, Anne W. Lee of Fayetteville; a brother, Jerome Wright of Fayetteville; 26 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Lee of Vander and Rhonda Walker of Wade; four sons, Daniel Smith and Raymond Smith, both of Fayetteville, Richard Smith of Humble, Texas, and Randolph Smith of Indianapolis; her mother, Nannie Bradshaw of Fayetteville; a brother, Henry Bradshaw of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Walters was a quality control technician for Waverly Mills.

Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband, Edward ‘‘Buddy’’ Walters of Laurinburg; two sons, Brian Britt of Laurel Hill and Jason Walters of Laurinburg; a daughter, Amy Cooper of Laurinburg; her mother, Frances B. Tessman of Laurinburg; six brothers, Royce Britt and Edward Tessman, both of Laurinburg, and Wesley Britt of Springfield, Mo., Charles Tessman, Jamie Tessman and Shawn Tessman, all of Hammond, Ind.; three sisters, Sally Neverve of Laurinburg, Karen Kawalski of Oklahoma and Debra Ramirez of Delmont, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
