PEMBROKE -- David Keith Deese, 40, of 1340 Old Prospect Road died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. Anna Freewill Baptist Church by the Revs. Henry Oxendine, Anthony Locklear, Chris Locklear and Tony Hunt. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Deese is survived by his wife, Sharon B. Deese of Pembroke; two daughters, Brandi C. Deese and Kayla L. Deese, both of Pembroke; his parents, David and Sue Deese of Pembroke; and two brothers, Lloyd K. Deese and Marvin Locklear, both of Pembroke.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Revels Funeral Home.
Mrs. Clara F. Davis

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Clara Fowler Davis, 87, of 505 Bailey Road died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Cornerstone Holiness Church by the Rev. David Hodge. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in St. Pauls.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter, Mary K. Burbank of St. Pauls; two sons, James A. Davis of Yanceyville and Fred Davis of Maxton; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McNeill Funeral Home and at other times at 613 E. Clark St., St. Pauls.

ROSEBORO -- Mrs. Florabelle Melvin Coble, 91, of 502 W. Clinton St. died Monday in Mary Gran Nursing Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Roseboro First Baptist Church by the Rev. Greg Templin. Burial will be in Antioch United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Coble is survived by four daughters, Joyce C. Cain of Fayetteville, Doris C. Melvin of Ammons, Virginia C. Gillingham of Fayetteville and Grace Caton of Virginia; two sisters, Bernice Cain of Ammons and Gladys Brown of Roseboro; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

CLARKTON -- Ernest Campbell Jr., 61, of Clarkton died Saturday in Shoreland Health Care.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Rehobeth AME Zion Church by the Rev. Ronald Campbell. Burial will be in Mitchell Field Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville.
Mr. Campell is survived by three sisters, Irene Smith of Clarkton, Notre D. Spaulding of Lake Waccamaw and Edna Jones of Whiteville; and three brothers, Wesley Campbell of Clarkton, Israel Campbell of Lake Waccamaw and MacArthur Campbell of Plainfield, N.J.
Wilhelm J. ‘Bill’ Taylor
SMITHFIELD -- Wilhelm Joseph ‘‘Bill’’ Taylor, 47, of 3610 B. Hancock St., formerly of Fayetteville, died Friday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville by the Rev. Ken Pritchard. Burial will be in Fayetteville Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his parents, Burke and Hilda Taylor of Fayetteville; and a sister, Nancy Comer of Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Cumberland County, 3232 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, N.C. 28303.
Paul C. Simpson

CARTHAGE -- Paul Clarence Simpson, 76, of 2503 Old Glendon Road died Monday in Pinelake Health Care Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Stewart Gordon. Burial will be in Cross Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Simpson is survived by four nieces; and six nephews.

Christopher J. Sabinash

Christopher Joseph Sabinash, 3-year-old son of Michael and Jessicca Sabinash, of 13-F Bastogne, Fort Bragg, died Friday in Womack Army Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today in Hope Chapel by Chaplain Cline. Burial will be Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa. Local arrangements are being handled by Cape Fear Crematory.
In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by two brothers, Steven M. Sabinash and David M. Sabinash, both of Fort Bragg; his paternal grandparents, David and Joyce Sabinash, both of West Des Moines, Iowa; his maternal grandmother, Theresa Breedlove of Denver; his maternal grandfather, James Payne of Wellsville, Ohio; his maternal great-grandmother, Eleanor Conci of North Jackson, Ohio; and his paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Mae Magnuson of Valley City, N. D.
The family will receive friends Thursday at Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines.

Willie B. Ritter

ROBBINS -- Willie Bascom Ritter, 61, of 1104 Needham Grove Road died Sunday in his home.
Mr. Ritter was a Navy veteran. He was a supervisor at Klopman Mills before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Needham Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. James E. Cockram. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ritter is survived by his wife, Minnie B. Ritter of Robbins; three daughters, Andrea R. Baker of Lambese, France, Heather A. Ritter of Asheboro and Wilhemina Ritter of Robbins; his mother, Myrtle H. Ritter of Robbins; a sister, Betty R. Davis of Trinity; a brother, Boyd Ritter of Robbins; and four grandchildren.

Carlton E. Niven Sr.

RAEFORD -- Carlton E. Niven Sr., 77, of 118 W. Donaldson Ave. died Sunday in Raleigh Community Hospital.
Mr. Niven was a member of Raeford United Methodist Church. He was a former city councilman. He was a veteran of World War II. During his military career, he was awarded three bronze service stars.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Raeford United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Vaughn. Burial will be in Raeford Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler Funeral Home.
Mr. Niven is survived by his wife, Hazel G. Niven of Raeford; a son, Carlton E. Niven Jr. of New York; a daughter, Caroline Niven-Ray of Wake Forest; a brother, William T. ‘‘Bill’’ Niven of Seven Lakes; and two sisters, Ann N. Webb of Raeford and Mamie N. Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.

Charles E. ‘Tom‘ Murphy
Charles Edward ‘‘Tom’’ Murphy, 62, of 200 Runway Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. T. W. Campbell. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Murphy is survived by a daughter, Joann Fulton of Fayetteville; two stepdaughters, Juanita Davis of Charlotte and Gloria Terrell of Fayetteville; a stepson, Gerald Carroll of Maxton; his mother, Lillian G. Murphy of Fayetteville; four brothers, Dwain Murphy of Red Springs and Waymon Murphy, Milton Murphy and Douglas Murphy, all of Fayetteville; three sisters, Hilda Hicks, Paleitha Patterson and Patsy Shaw, all of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Cunningham & Sons Mortuary.

Ms. Louise T. Maynard

Maynard of Clinton; two sisters, Dorothy T. Royal of Salemburg and Martha T. Murray of Biloxi, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bertha L. Lucas

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Bertha Lee Lucas, 80, of Laurinburg died Sunday in Scotia Village.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of Fletcher’s Chapel Wesleyan Church. She worked at Morgan Mills as a seamstress.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Fletcher’s Chapel Wesleyan Church by the Revs. Jeff Collins and Glenn Harris. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Gibson. Arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
Mrs. Lucas is survived by a son, Gary J. Lucas of Parkton; three daughters, Katherine L. Stanton of Bennettsville, S.C., Shelby Stubbs and Margaret Hogan, both of Gibson; a sister, Martha B. Holmes of Gibson; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
