John Harvey Dobbins Sr.
John Harvey Dobbins Sr., 88, of Clifton Forge, VA died December 12 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.
Surviving are a son, John Harvey Dobbins Jr. and wife Donna of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Jennifer D. Smith, Ashley E. Dobbins and Jonathan D. Dobbins; and a great-grandchild, Tyler Matthew Smith, all of Clemmons.
Funeral services were held at Clifton Forge Baptist Church with Rev. Shawn F. Dobbins and Rev. J. Glenn Linthicum officiating. Burial followed in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Iona Francis Wood
Iona Francis Wood, 93, of Mount Airy, widow of Alvery Wood, died December 13 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Surry County on September 23, 1911, to the late Chis and Leoma Hiatt Francis. She was retired from Perry Manufacturing Co. and a member of Woodville Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Gray Corn.
Surviving are three daughters, Marylene Smith of Yorktown, VA, Elaine Corn and husband Harold of Pfafftown and Kay Jones and husband Dean of Mount Airy; a son, Trent Wood and wife Shelby of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren and spouses, Cindy Sapienzo of Hampton, VA, Sherry Stokes and husband John of Norfolk, VA, Sharon Steelman of Winston-Salem, Ricky Corn and wife Robin of Lewisville, Charles Brian Hicks and wife Wanda of Mount Airy, Greg Hicks and wife Glenna of Mount Airy and Karen Rogers and husband Darrell of Lowgap; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Venable of Mount Airy and Lorene Yow of Sanford.
Funeral services were held at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy with Rev. Keith Love officiating. Burial followed in Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Margaret Kenner Cox
Margaret Keener Cox, 88, of Clemmons Village I died December 15 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 29, 1916, in Maiden, a daughter of the late Artus Alexander Keener and the late Lottie Klutz Keener. She was retired from Hanes Hosiery Mill and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Cox; and a daughter, Carol Jean Atwood.
Surviving are her stepdaughters, Mary Shirley and husband Tom of Winston-Salem and Shirley Stoddard and husband Bob of Fort McCoy, FL.
A graveside service was held at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Curtis Whaley officiating.

Theon Harris Vance Sr.
Theon Harris Vance Sr., 82, of Clemmons died December 12 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 8, 1922, in Forsyth County to Bertha Harris. For 50 years he was owner and operator of Vance Fence Co. He retired in recent years. He was a resident of Clemmons Village Assisted Living in Clemmons and president of their resident association. When health permitted, he was a faithful member of Harmony Grove United Methodist Church in Lewisville. He was a talented harmonica player and frequently entertained family and friends with his music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Allen Vance; a grandson, Samuel Theon Steelman; and a brother, Virgil Vance.
Surviving are three sons, Theon Vance Jr. and wife Sandra of Mocksville, Tom Allen Vance and wife Peggy of Lexington and Gary Robert Vance of Mount Airy; two daughters, Bettie Vance Steelman of Yadkinville and Virginia Vance Penland and husband Roger of Winston-Salem; a brother, Henry Vance of Winston-Salem; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. David G. Lookadoo officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Lester Long Eaton
Lester Long Eaton, 88, of Mocksville died December 13 at Davie County Hospital. He was born in Davie County on September 22, 1916, to the late James Monroe and Luna Haneline Eaton. He had been a dairy and poultry farmer all his life. He was a lifelong member of Eatons Baptist Church, where he had been a trustee and a member of the men’s Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Eaton, in 1996.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Virginia Angell Eaton of the home; two nephews, Jim Eaton and wife Brenda and Charles Eaton and wife Eleanor, all of Mocksville; a niece, Elizabeth Atterberry and husband Bob of Belmont; four great-nieces; a great-nephew; a sister-in-law, Helen Eaton of Mocksville; three stepdaughters, Hazel C. Pendry and husband James Caroll of Booneville, Christine Rivers and husband Jerry of Mocksville and Jennie Aguallo and husband Gabe of Clemmons; two stepsons, John Clement and Butch Clement, both of Mocksville; 10 stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Eatons Baptist Church with Dr. David Gilbreath officiating, and burial followed in Eatons Baptist Church Cemetery.

Levi Clinton Poe
Levi “Lee” Clinton Poe, 71, of Clemmons died December 17 at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief battke with cancer. He was born November 21, 1933, in Elizabethton, TN, to Clinton and Eureth McGuire Poe. He was a retired schoolteacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County public schools. He was a member of the Carl Gregory Sunday School Class and a deacon of Clemmons First Baptist Church. He also served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Allan Poe; two half-brothers; and a half-sister.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Prince Poe of the home; two sons, Michael Poe and wife Michele of Davie County and Chris Poe and wife Sheena of Clemmons; two grandsons, Levi of Davie County and Allan of Ohio; and two nephews, Bob Poe and wife Deb, and Greg Poe and wife Pam, all of Ohio.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Dr. Robby Phillips officiating. Burial followed at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.

Pauline Hutchins Butner
Pauline Hutchins Butner, 87, died December 17 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 13, 1917, in Forsyth County to Isom and Ethel Sattenfield Hutchins. She spent most of her life in Winston-Salem. She worked with Dr. Yelton for a number of years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Pine Chapel Moravian Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Foltz; and a brother, Clifton Hutchins.
Surviving are her husband, Luther N. Butner Jr. of the home; a daughter, Jane Butner Shaver and husband Don C. of Winston-Salem; a son, Dean C. Butner and wife Deborah of Lewisville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Williard of Winston-Salem.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Norwood Green and Rev. Matthew Allen officiating. Burial followed in Parklawn Memorial Park.

Gail Redding Conrad
Gail Redding Conrad, 68, of Lewisville died February 26 at her home. She was born September 19, 1936, in Forsyth County, a daughter of the late Donald Redding and the late Barbara Hicks Redding. She was the retired owner and operator of Magic Land Daycare. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Redding and Donald Redding.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Victor Esta Conrad of the home; daughters Robin Leigh White of East Bend and Dee Dee Forrest and husband Monty of Boonville; son Shannon Conrad and wife Dana of Lewisville; mother-in-law Irene B. Conrad of Lewisville; grandchildren Kendra Widner, Casey Forrest, Seth Forrest, Savannah Childress, Seth Childress and Adam Conrad; and great-grandchildren Jake, Max and Dru Widner.
Funeral services were held at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel with Rev. Shane Hayes officiating. Entombment followed at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Edward Herman Klevinski
Edward Herman Klevinski, 84, of Clemmons, died February 23 at Bermuda Terrace Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born September 3, 1920, in Scranton, Pa., to Frances Matthew and Catherine Peitch Klevinski. He was a graduate of the Johnson School of Technology and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II at the Pautuxent Naval Air Test Station. Prior to enlisting in the service, he built landing craft for the Normandy invasion at the Owens Yacht Co. in Baltimore, Md. After the war, he went to work for the Western Electric Co. He spent many of his 38 years of service with the Bell Labs in Baltimore as a design engineer. In the late ‘60s, he volunteered to transfer to the Western Electric group working on the Defense Department’s Safeguard Antiballistic Missile Program. This work brought he and his family to Winston-Salem. He later worked onsite in North Dakota overseeing the final installation of the systems designed by his group. In last years of work, he was involved with designing communication systems for military bases and U.S. embassies around the world. He was also a very active member of the Isaak Walton League in Bel Air, Md. He had many hobbies including fishing, woodworking, watercolor painting, bird carving, gardening and his lifelong pursuit of model railroading. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marion; a brother, Adolf; and sisters Helen, Anna and Alma.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Anne Hagaman Klevinski of the home; two sons, Mark Stephen Klevinski and wife Dianne of Tobaccoville, and Edward H. Klevinski Jr. and wife Sami of Clemmons; two granddaughters, Lisa Talley of Winston-Salem and Lita Crockett and husband Steve of Clemmons; and his sister, Julia Terry of Pueblo, Colo.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel, and burial followed at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.

Ronnie Lee Lewis
Ronnie “Jimmy” Lee Lewis, 58, of Pfafftown died February 26 at his home. He was born October 12, 1946, in Tazewell County, Va. to the late Roy Hardy and Thelma Lewis.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Colbert Lewis and daughter, Cindy Lewis Fields, both of the home; a daughter, Sally Lewis Osborne and husband Edmond of Jonesville, Va.; and four grandchildren, Jimmy, Chris, Autumn and Brandon.
A private memorial service was held.

Lester Garl Pinnix
Lester Garl Pinnix, 93, of Winston-Salem died February 23. He was born November 17, 1911, in Yadkin County, to William Sherman and Pearl Holcomb Pinnix. Hewas a member of Northwest Baptist Church, where he was an avid choir member, as well as being a former choir director. He had also been a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He served his country in World War II in the 46th Signal Corps Construction Battalion with the U.S. Army Corps. He owned and operated Pinnix Upholstery Shop after his retirement from Sealtest Dairy. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Hazel Leinbach Pinnix, and a daughter, Nancy Rose Pinnix.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Mozelle Willard Hemric Pinnix of the home; two daughters, Lucy P. Peck and husband Dennis of Germanton, Sarah P. Smith and husband Chris of Clemmons; two sons, Jim G. Pinnix and wife Joyce of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Terry W. Pinnix and wife Maureen of Berlin, Md.; a stepson, Larry D. Hemric and wife Nancy of Yadkinville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Pinnix of Yadkinville and Ann Martin of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Joe Pinnix and wife Judy of Winston-Salem.
Funeral services were held at Northwest Baptist Church with Rev. Randy McKenney officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Cemetery, with military rites by the District 11 Memorial Honor Guard.

Gary Roediger
Gary Roediger, 51, of Winston-Salem, died February 21 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1953, in Guilford County to Charles Lamar Roediger Sr. and Mildred Brewster Roediger.
Surviving are a daughter, Heidi College and husband Jack of Lewisville; a daughter, Starr Faircloth and husband Chad of Kernersville; two grandchildren, Peyton Riddle and Parker Riddle; his mother, Mildred; and two brothers, Chuck Roediger and wife Becky of Bermuda Run and Larry Roediger and wife Joy of Albemarle.
A memorial service was held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

David Lee Lambeth Sr.
David Lee Lambeth Sr., 86, of Winston-Salem died February 21 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1918, in Davidson County to Albert David and Annie Woosley Lambeth. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS. Springfield. He was retired from Douglas Battery after 45 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Rogers Lambeth; a brother, Paul; and four sisters, Lillian, Treva, Alice and Evelyn.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Christian and husband Pete of Winston-Salem; a son, David Lee Lambeth Jr. and wife Margaret of Thomasville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Opal Boyd of Clemmons; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ottis Hurst and Courtney Crowson officiating. Burial followed in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, with military graveside rites conducted by District 11 Memorial Honor Guard.

Audie Jonathan Hunter
Audie Jonathan Hunter, 47, of Pfafftown died February 26 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1957, in Forsyth County, a son of Joseph B. Hunter of Tobaccoville and the late Sue Pritchard Hunter. He was employed with Tyco with 28 years of service. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joel Hunter.
Surviving are his wife of 4 and 1/2 years, Karen Phipps Hunter of the home; a daughter, Samantha Phipps; his father, Joseph B. Hunter and wife Shirley of Tobaccoville; and brothers, Russell Hunter of Raleigh and Doyle Hunter of Greensboro.
A graveside service was held at Forsyth Memorial Park.

Grace Petree Price
Grace Petree Price, 95, of Winston-Salem died February 23 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Winston-Salem to John Adam and Julia Ann Hailey Petree on January 22, 1910. She lived in the Winston-Salem area most of her life. She was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church and the Sallie Lillington Sunday school class. Her husband, Ivan E. Price Sr., preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Ivan E. Price Jr. and wife Linda of Lewisville; a grandson, John L. Price and wife Joanna of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter, Kristin P. Douglass and husband, Rob of Clemmons; a great- grandson, Jackson I. Douglass of Clemmons; a brother, Harold R. Petree and wife Ruby of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Ann Garland of Winston-Salem; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Lewisville Baptist Church with Pastor Ralph E. Stanley Sr. and Pastor Jo Bjorling officiating.

Lois Swaim Midyette
Lois Swaim Midyette, 86, died February 24 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 30, 1918, in Forsyth County, to Raymond and Allie Smith Swaim. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. She was the owner of Carolina Beauty Shop, and she continued to care for her longtime customers after her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Dunn Midyette Jr., and her second husband, Donald W. Weaver Jr.
Surviving are her son, John D. Midyette III of Raleigh; a grandson, J. David Midyette of Ontario, Canada; and four stepchildren, Lee Weaver of Pinehurst, Donald W. Weaver III and wife Mary of Charlotte, Edward A. Weaver and wife Pat of Clemmons and Julia Weaver of Charlotte.
Funeral services were held at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Haley officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

Matthew Dread Priddy
Matthew Dread Priddy, 83, of Clemmons died March 3 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 4, 1921, in Forsyth County to Dread Addison and Nonnie Ferrington Priddy. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Wiggs Priddy of the home; a son, Dr. Michael D. Priddy of Greenville; a granddaughter, Michelle P. Warnock and husband Brad; a grandson, Zachary C. Priddy; a great-grandson, Clark Warnock, all of Raleigh; a brother, Dr. Eugene A. Priddy and wife Monna Dean of Tampa, Fla.; and a sister, Jaunita Tolbert of Titusville, Fla.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Eugene Priddy and Rev. Robert Steagall officiating. Burial followed in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

Vicky Faye Plemmons
Vicky Faye Plemmons, 50, of Winston-Salem died March 1 at her home. She was born in Forsyth County on December 8, 1954, to Woodrow Wilson and Florence Mathis Plemmons. She loved to spend her time making arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Jimmy Gray Plemmons Sr.
Surviving are her son, Jason Woodrow Plemmons; her mother, Florence Mathis Plemmons; and a brother, Don Plemmons, all of Lewisville; three nieces; three nephews; a great-nephew; seven great-nieces; and her “grand-dog,” Eli.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Clint Branch and Dr. Rick Hamann officiating. Burial followed at Grace Baptist Church in Lewisville.

Brenda Ann Thorne
Brenda Ann Thorne, 65, of Kernersville died March 4 at her residence. Born on February 12, 1940, in Spartanburg, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marion Ezell. She was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Tyco Electronics. She loved feeding the birds and taking care of her animals.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Myles Thorne of the home; two sons, Terry Carl Thorne and wife Kathy of Spartanburg, S.C., and Sgt. Maj. (USMC) Myles Christopher Thorne and wife Lori of Jacksonville; a daughter, Martha Jane Norman and husband David of Clemmons; and six grandchildren, Sarah Robertson, Joshua Norman, Kevin Thorne, Meghan Thorne, Katie Thorne and Heather Thorne.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Thomas Albert officiating. Burial followed at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
