SANFORD -- Ms. Virginia Blue Holland, 68, of 214 Wildlife Road died Monday.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Miller-Boles Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Bewey Shaver. Burial will be in Lemon Springs United Methodist Church cemetery.

Ms. Holland is survived by three brothers, Charlie Holland and Harvey Holland, both of Sanford, and Bobby Holland of Nunnley, Tenn.; and three sisters, Kathleen Burns of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Peggy Wicker of Sanford and Linda Chiaraluce of Pompano Beach, Fla.

LUMBER BRIDGE -- James Arthur ‘‘Jimmy’’ Charlton Jr., 36, of 403 Ireland Drive died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Saint Pauls Funeral Home Wallace Chapel. Burial will be in Family Cemetery.

Mr. Charlton is survived by his wife, Cathleen B. Charlton of Lumber Bridge; four sons, Thomas Wesbrook of Colorado, James A. Charlton III and Michael W. Charlton, both of the home, and Billy D. Bryant of Gray’s Creek; four daughters, April L. Charlton, Tonya M. Charlton, Brittany M. Daniel, and Jessica N. Daniel, all of the home; his father, James A. Charlton Sr. of Lumber Bridge; two brothers, Wayne E. Charlton of Pembroke and Paul Charlton of Maxton; three sisters, Cathleen Charlton of New Hampshire and Linda C. Bryant and Paula Charlton, both of Fayetteville; and his grandmother, Marion Charlton of Florida.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home.

ST. PAULS -- Wade McEachern, 67, of St. Pauls died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Aurthur Bell.

Mr. McEachern is survived by a daughter, Yolonda Williams of Flushing, N.Y.; three sisters, Vardell Hill and Katie McEachern, both of St. Pauls, and Mattie Hill of Corona, N.Y.; and a granddaughter.

The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at McKoy & Sons Mortuary.

Louis M. Jeffreys Jr. (Dated Saturday, July 3, 1999)

DUNN -- Louis Marquis Jeffreys Jr., 74, of Clinton Avenue died Thursday in Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham.

Mr. Jeffreys was a Navy veteran of World War II.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Greenwood Cemetery by the Rev. Currie Parker.

Mr. Jeffreys is survived by his mother, Mayme R. Jeffreys of Dunn; a brother, Charles M. Jeffreys of Raleigh; and two sisters, Anne Faircloth of Erwin and Betsy Eason of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Skinner Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Anne Faircloth, 205 West B St., Erwin.

David Munn, 63, of 2254 Alray Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Martha B. Muench (Dated Saturday, July 3, 1999)

Mrs. Martha Brandon Muench, 78, of 2610 Mirror Lake Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Muench was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Raeford Cemetery by the Rev. Ben McCoy. Arrangements are being handled by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Mrs. Muench is survived by a daughter, Sally M. Butler of New Windsor, Md.; and a sister, Elizabeth B. Durham of Norfolk, Va.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to the Salvation Army.

Lewis B. Smith (Dated Saturday, July 3, 1999)

SANFORD -- Lewis Bert Smith, 71, of Jefferson Davis Highway died Friday in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Rocky Fork Christian Church by Dr. John Fill and Ed Koffenberger. Burial will be in Shallow Well Cemetery.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Smith; two sons, Dr. Michael Murray of Cleveland and Matthew Murray of Lund, Sweden; two daughters, Allison Spry of Chesapeake, Va., and Kelly Smith of Raleigh; a brother, Jarvis Smith of Raleigh; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

William B. Rogers (Dated Saturday, July 3, 1999)

PEMBROKE -- William Bruce Rogers, 61, of Harris Trailer Park, Lot 6, died Thursday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Reedy Branch Baptist Church by the Revs. Charles Maynor and Chester Chavis. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Somsiri E. Rogers of the home; two sons, Bobby Rogers and Ronnie Rogers, both of Lumberton; a stepson, Tony Laws of South Carolina; two daughters, Jacqueline Locklear of Pembroke and Carol Rogers of Rockville, Md.; a stepdaughter, Mary A. Laws of South Carolina; three brothers, Layton Rogers and Nehemiah Rogers, both of Lumberton, and Ralph Rogers of Pembroke; three sisters, Lorriane Chavis of Pembroke, Louise Jones of Fairmont and Stella Taylor of Charlotte; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nellie M. Gay (Dated Saturday, July 3, 1999)

SPRING LAKE -- Mrs. Nellie McLeod Gay, 78, of 1443 Mack St. died Wednesday in Fayetteville Health Care.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Bible Way Holiness Church by elder Charles Wright. Burial will be in Center Grove Church cemetery in Raeford.

Mrs. Gay is survived by three sons, Alexander Gay and James W. Gay, both of Fayetteville, and Robert ‘‘Bob’’ Gay of Decatur, Ga.; three daughters, Mable Fuller and Jennie Gay, both of the home, and Mary H. Jones of Fayetteville; and four sisters, Ludine Jackson, Sally M. Mack, Beatrice Brown and Margaret Mongtomery, all of Fayetteville.

The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary in Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends at the home.
