LAWNDALE — Ms. Dorothy Cook Patterson, 77, resident of 308 E. Double Shoals Road, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends tonight form 7 to 9 at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Cleveland County, Ms. Patterson was the daughter of the late Wilsch Cook and Kathryn Barnes Cook. She retired from Sadie Mills in Kings Mountain. She was a good and loving mother and grandmother and was dearly loved by her family. The family would like to send a special thank you to Lora Love and Amy Champion for taking care of Mother.
SURVIVORS: A son, William Keith Patterson and wife, Phyllis, of Kings Mountain; daughters, Donna Reynolds and husband, Steve, of Lawndale, Rita Owens and husband, Jerry, of Lawndale and Sybil Walker and husband, Richard, of Cherryville; former husband, William Odell Patterson and wife, Kathy; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild

SHELBY — Mr. Rudolph “Rudy” Mack, 69, of 311 N. Washington St., departed this life on Friday, June 2, 2006, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
FUNERAL: Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, S.C.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Genesis Funeral Services.
PERSONAL HISTORY: Born Feb. 2, 1937, Mr. Mack was the son of the late Rev. Waddell and Mrs. Pearl Mack. He was married to Gita Patel on Dec. 15, 1979, in Newark, N.J. He was the best man in the world. I will never forget him. He was the first man in my life until death. Rudolph attended the public schools of Bishopville, S.C. and was a graduate of Dennis High School. At an early age, he became a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of the church and served in the following ministries: Trustee, Brotherhood, Senior choir and male choir. He relocated to Shelby in 1989 where he owned and managed Mack’s Grocery Stores.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: His parents; four brothers, Herbert L. Mack, Robert L. Mack, Arnold Mack and William Mack; father-in-law Narharibhai Patel; brother-in-law, Bhanubhai Patel; and nephew, Suniel Patel
SURVIVORS: His wife of 27 years, Gita Patel Mack; three devoted sons, Pahul and Mukegh Mack, both of Shelby and Richard E. Butler and wife, Wanda Guaiter, of N.J.; a devoted daughter, Shelia Wilson of Woodruff, S.C.; four brothers, Leon, Waddell, Arthur and Raymond Mack, all of Sumter, S.C.; two sisters, Celeste Fortune and Lottie Bell Hunter, both of Sumter; mother-in-law, Kamla Patel of N.J.; two sisters-in-law, Pushpa Patel and husband, Vitthal, of India and Indiva Patel of Atlanta; five brothers-in-law, Ajeetbhya Patel and wife, Indira, of Calif., Arvind Patel and wife, Joshna, of N.J., Vikas Patel and wife, Sumita of Va., Pariven Patel and wife, Asimta, of Va. and Harihar Patel and wife, Kamini, of N.C.; three grandsons, Kentavious Mack of Shelby, Richard O. Butler Jr. of N.J. and Quan Wilson of Woodruff; a special nephew, Dilip (Anjaha) of N.C.; a niece, Jhyoit; a long time friend of 15 years, Boyd Peeler; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

PERSONAL HISTORY: Mr. Hunt was a member of the United Methodist Men Co-Choir, member of the Hospitality Committee and was awarded the Laity Service Award for 2004-2005. Mr. Hunt was a veteran of the Korean War and received a Korean Service medal with a Bronze Service Star.
