Carolyn Davison
Nov. 28, 1929 – Aug. 18, 2006
Shelby — Mrs. Carolyn Wells Davison, 76, went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, Aug. 18, 2006.
She was born to the late Dr. and Mrs. Clyde O. Wells Sr. and grew up in Spartanburg, S.C. She graduated in 1949 from the Spartanburg school system. She attended Agnes Scott College her freshman and sophomore years and graduated from Converse College in 1950. She married a longtime friend of the Wells family, Meredith V. Davison, son of Mildred and Verne Davison, in 1951. She was a wonderful wife, a very caring and loving mother, a longtime reader, studier, teacher and follower of the Holy Bible, an avid flower gardener and she loved to sew. Even after multiple myeloma forced her to use a wheelchair, she cultivated and weeded her flowers. When the sun showed its face, you would probably find her out of doors soaking “Him” up! She was always willing to take a challenge, moving to Charlotte in 1966. Seven years later, she moved to Lake Norman and opened a real estate office with Meredith. They moved back to Spartanburg in 1980 and moved for the final time to Kings Mountain in 1994, where she retired from real estate sales.
She is survived by her loving husband, Meredith; two sons, Meredith Jr. and wife, Denise, of Weddington and Ron and wife, Lucy, of Charlotte; a daughter, Meda and husband, Dr. Richard Dixon, of Shelby; and six beautiful grandchildren — Jonas, Kaylin, Hannah and Mallory Davison and Andrew and Charles Dixon. She is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Clyde Wells Jr. and Dr. Joe Wells; two sisters, Allene Williamson and Elizabeth Coggins; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family would like to thank Carolinas Hematology-Oncology Associates and, especially, Dr. Warden Woodard for the caring love furnished during Carolyn’s sickness and also the special Hospice team that administered to Carolyn for the past several months. Thank you also to JoAnn Carson for the love and care she gave to Carolyn for many months.
Visitation: The family will receive friends following the memorial service and, at other times, the family will be at the home, 133 Dunes Drive, Kings Mountain.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain
